The predictions for damage by this storm get worse by the day. Everyone on the East Coast may be impacted. Are you ready?

I read somewhere that it could be worse than the Perfect Storm. I am glad I don't live on the coast anymore.

Welcome, Sandy.
Maybe it'll turn into a tropical storm by the time it gets here like they usually do, or is this one somehow special?
Edit: It might be good the Ravens have a bye week.

That storm almost washed out my wedding then we went to the Fl Keys for our honeymoon and the water was warmer then the air TWC was broadcasting in front of our condo in Daytona earlier--it looked good lol

What's special is that Sandy is supposed to meet up with a vicious front coming in from the west right over the mid-Atlantic region. It's also full moon (higher than usual tides) so the coastal flooding could be incredible. Top that off with Sandy being HUGE and slow moving and we're talking possibly 4-5 days of high winds and torrential rains. This is not going to be pretty.

I own a boating biz here in "The Dena", Md. Already started selling loads of rope and dock lines. Expecting a big push for ice (just had 15,000 pounds worth delivered) Monday-Thursday as this area always loses power. I'll be staying the night on my boat Sunday thru Tuesday, and keeping an eye on the other boats at the club during the day. I just hope the Euro predicts are wrong and this thing doesn't come straight up the Chesapeke! Good luck to all out there.

Think of that freak storm we had in July with the power being out, and multiply that by 10. That's what they say this is gonna be. 60mph winds will be the norm for a couple of DAYS.

I'm headed to Costco tomorrow to buy a shotgun and a case of beans. This zombie apocalypse won't be pretty. I'm sorry if I have to take any of your zombie-selves down. :(

Just hold off until I get home! I'm leaving this afternoon for Michigan, and I won't be home until Sunday evening! Even if my flight is the last one to arrive at BWI before they'd shut the airport down, please let me get home on Sunday! I don't think I'd be too happy sitting in Michigan knowing my husband and sons are stuck in Baltimore with a "storm of the century" happening. :)

But as a recent Floridian who only saw snow when I went up Ohio to visit family over the years, I'm actually a tad excited to see the white stuff. :)

If the storm does hit maybe we'll get a 'Hurricane Day' off from work.

I'm guessing the supermarkets are going to be ravaged already. Everytime I go into one when a big 'storm' is being hyped it looks crazy. Carts are tipped over in aisles, shelves are empty, there are half eaten items, spills on the floor, and the employees looked like they were taken.

In the end, we'll be okay people. The world is not going to end.
