Week 8 Discussion (Other Games)

194 posts in this topic

Week 8 is almost upon us as Thursday Night Football will see the surging Minnesota Vikings against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With the Ravens on a Bye, I imagine that everyone will be here on Sunday.

Who you guys think will win tomorrow night and what do you all want to see happen on Sunday? It's interesting to note that the Patriots play the Rams in London on Sunday, and so far the NFC West is 2-0 against the Patriots.

Learned this from Adam Schefter...

The Falcons opponents have a combined record of 13 - 24 this season, giving the Falcons the easiest schedule in the NFL currently through week 7. The Philadelphia Eagles under Reid are undefeated coming off the bye-week.

What am I saying?

I got the Falcons losing this Sunday in Philly.

As far tomorrow night, I have AP running wild, and the Vikings winning.

I don't know, Michael Vick keeps turning the ball over and the strong suit of the Atlanta Defense is creating turnovers. I can't see the Falcons losing to Philly.

Oh and here's what our division rivals are up to this week, Bengals are also on a Bye.

Chargers vs Browns
Redskins vs Steelers

Chargers will beat the Browns and I'm hoping Pitts can't stop RG3... Skins need to start the game right and score fast, forcing the Squeaks to play catch up, then all will fall in place

I'm sure the Redskins will put up a fight with Pittsburgh, but I wouldn't be so sure that the Chargers will defeat the Browns. I actually like Cleveland to win against SD.

I remember looking at the Falcons schedule before the year and remembering how easy it was. Especially since they don't have to go outside in many winter environments come November/December. Their only hump was NO. Who have defaced themselves.

Falcons will get the #1 seed, but I agree I do expect them to lose this game. On the road against good corners. Philly is coming out of a bye, they are hungry angry, and the majority of them are now playing for their jobs.

Yeah, I also can't see them losing 3 in a row either. And with Philly having one of the top home crowds, I don't see them making it very easy for Atlanta to play there. The only thing I would worry about as an Eagle fan, which I had forgot about, is what JO pointed out about the Vick turnover issue.

Atlanta's also been struggling lately with Oakland and Washington. Not saying it will continue to happen, but it does make one wonder how long they can continue to play like that. The recent bye week may also help them though. Only time will tell.

Vikings will show they are for real by winning tonight and moving to 6-2. With the way the Bears are playing, it seems the Packers are starting to roll and the Vikings, the NFC North could see three teams in the playoffs.

Didn't Percy want out of Minnesota at the beginning of this season? Or all rumors?
[/quote]
It was never confirmed by the Vikings, or Harvin but yeah, I remember that.

Man I wish we had him, he's so damn nice.

I am honestly amazed at how much he has developed. I know he's pretty damn talented on special teams, but never expected him to expand as much as he has.

I always used to say his migraines held him back, well since he's been heathy he's been a beast. Harvin and Aaron Hernandez are the two most versitaile players in the league. Imagine if he got some help from another WR.

I want the Bucs to win just so I don't have to listen to all the Vikings fans say how good they are.

Are you near the Minnesota area that you hear a lot of Viking fans?

Yeah, if they could get a big receiver like a Roddy White type, or even an Anquan Boldin type, ( No I don't want to trade Q either.) they would be dangerous on offense. Or as dangerous as Ponder would let them be. I think it would help with the development of Ponder though.

10 minutes from the Minnesota border in South Dakota.

It's almost like a pick your poison kind of offense with Minnesota. Game plan for Peterson, or Harvin, and whom ever you let go -- will haunt you.
