Thought I would make this post to see what you guys would do if you were the Head Coach for a day. We have seen the fire Pee's..Fire Cam..and even a few fire Harb's threads or posts so what would you realistically do to make this team better?

Me?

Would not use the no huddle on the road unless absolutely needed in a 2 minute offense or something.

I would give Cam a "pitch count" stipulating that he has to give Lil Ray the ball at least 20 times a game no matter what.

Tell Dean Pee's that he needs to be more aggressive in his schemes and for the love of GOD stress the importance of properly wrapping up when trying to tackle.

Tell Jerry that at least our Special Teams play is one bright spot this year..keep up the great work.

Ask Caldwell what size shoe he wears in case he has to step into Cam's as his replacement if things don't improve.

It depends on which game really.

First and foremost I would stock up on jerseys and autographed footballs.

Second I would get a suite on game day for all my friends complete with catering.

After all that not much else cause I am grossly underqualified to perform most of the head coach duties. That said I am not even sure what does and does not fall under the duties of a head coach.

Dismiss Cam. Promote Caldwell.

Trade McKinnie to Cardinals who have the worst offensive line. More of a GM role, but I think it needs to be done.

As Harbaugh ( a former secondary coach), I would personally work with the defensive backs. Activate Asa Jackson on game days.

Bench Doss for Deonte Thompson. Deonte is 13th in league with return yardage and can assist Torrey with taking top off the defense.

60/40 Run to Pass ratio.

Rice is best piece of our offense. Bring out a little of 2009 with the screen passes.

Keep the Sugar huddle/No huddle, just add more run plays than pass plays. I haven't blamed Flacco yet for not executing the Sugar huddle on the road but he's the general, bark the dang orders out and get the ball snapped.

Start Harewood.

Last week against the Texans we met a team that was better than us on both sides of the ball right now. That causes alot of worries...

The first thing to do is not to panic and to realize/communicate that we must get better by playoff time just like last year.

The second thing to do is to stop the run. How? I'm not sure, and neither is anyone else otherwise it'd be done, but a good first step is to run the ball more and dominate the clock as we have in years past. I don't think it's just coicidence that moving away from the ground and pound has coincided with weaker play on defense. It's connected. Step 2 must reside within the mind of Pees. Two years ago under Mattison we couldn't get pressure and it killed us. We lost a few important guys but we shouldn't see this change in run defense. Pees has to figure it out and I think having Suggs back is a big help to that cause.

The third thing is to run the ball more. I love the no-huddle and I love the ability to pass the ball, but I'm not one who buys into the theory that it is a passing league now and suddenly the age-old ideas of how to win a football game go out the window. I'm also against Cam's old plan of run-run-throw-punt. We need to run the ball more than we pass the ball. We need to manage the clock and keep our boys rested. We pound them and pound them and THEN we throw them off guard with a no-huddle. We can't run on everybody and we need to throw on those days but it must be our first and most important option. Some teams can't stop our pass and we can take advantage of that, but this constant deep shot game when we don't convert them efficiently is gambling. I'm not into risk reward, I'm into practical pragmatic gameplans with tricks up the sleeve and flexibility to take advantage of a team's weaknesses.

The fourth thing is to create world peace because I know I could accomplish these goals equally well as that one.

The 5th thing is to clone Ozzie, start him at TE and have his DeCosta's replacement retiring at just the right time...

Some of the best suggestions I've read. I'd go for at least a 50/50 run/pass but whatever.

What stinks about the whole McKinnie thing is that he is relegated to LT. We all saw in the Houston game when Osemele went out, McKinnie swung to left and forced Oher to right - that's not what you want. You don't want to have to shuffle two guys when one goes down and the Ravens have always wanted their back-up linemen to be versatile. (They want all their linemen to be versatile but when you're solidified starting, you get more leeway in that department)

Keep Jones at return spot. He dominated the Texans on ST.

Why is this even in question. It is obvious that Deonte is better than Doss. Smh..... he can also play special teams.

Our head coach? Duties include standing around with his thumb up his rump and a look of confusion on his face. Maybe praying for a miracle. It sure doesnt include putting his foot in the behinds of his coordinators to get them to adapt to the opposing teams game.

I guess the confusion is because he does not remember last year when WE SHOULD HAVE STUCK TO THE RUN. How quickly last years lessons were forgotten.

This should be fun. Let's see. As Head Coach for a day I would...

1) Go to Ozzie and say screw "Right player Right price. GET ME WORLD-BEATERS. I need Clutch players who understand what it takes to win in the playoffs. PLAYMAKERS!"

2) Ask Ozzie to get players who fits Cam's scheme if he's going to be here. Fast and tall folk. Boldin isn't going to keep cutting it.

3) Have a Heart-to-Heart with Cam. If I'm backed up on my own 2 and its 2nd and 4, and you decide to to abandon the running game after gutting a team after our first drive I'm going to have you stoned.

4) Heart-to-Heart with Pees. I know you don't have a ton of top notch talent, but you can scheme them to be great. For one year Rex Ryan made Fabio Washington look like a shutdown Corner who couldn't tackle, so I know its possible.

5) Teach my coaching staff the importance of making adjustments and sound decisions. Not go off what the media tells you to do.

Sounds like a solid 12-4 season again!

If for some reason Jim Caldwell can't get it done the rest of the season, I'm giving you the 1st opportunity to be our OC when the season is over. Just think about it. Call you in February.

i second the enforcing of running 20-25 times.

My biggest idea/ opinion...
- i say since our O-line is in rotation this year with no set line up we make an at home (no-huddle O-line) and away (o-line).
- On the Road: Mckinnie, Osemele, Birk, Yanda, Oher
- Home/ no huddle: Oher, Williams/Harewood, Birk, Yanda, Osemele.

I would continue to run the no huddle/ sugar huddle in hurry-up tempo, but I would run out of it more. That way we can keep the defense from being able to substitute, but also wear them down with Ray. I would have the o-line be Oher, Harewood/Gradkowski (if Harewood is hurt), Birk, Yanda and Osemele. I would run two tight end sets more so that Pitta and Dickson would be matched up with a LB or safety (mismatch either way). I would also shift from a 21 personnel to 4 wides (the TE's would become the slot receivers) and then run pass, depending on how the defense adjusts. If they switch to nickel or dime, run it. If they stay in base pass it. This would allow you to spread out the defense, without losing run blocking ability. Plus, you can switch back to 21 personnel without having to substitute, which allows the continued use of hurry-up. I would also bring up Bobby Rainey from the PS and use a combination of RR, BP and Rainey to keep defenses off balance and the RB's fresh.

On defense, I would put Kruger on the field as a starter and put McClellan at ILB. He knows the position to some degree because of his stint inside last year. His ability to take on O-lineman at the POA will pay dividends. (he's used to being the contain, so he has experience with this and played DE in college, albeit at Marshall) I would use bump and run with Reed as the single high safety until we can get the run D squared away. Plus both Smith and Williams are better suited for this as opposed to off coverage where they have both struggled to some degree. This is what Seattle does with their big corners, and also how Philly and Dallas played us. It will work well against smaller receivers in particular. I would disguise our pressures, and coach up our defense to not give indicators before the snap. Don't show your hand on the hard count. if we are going to get beat, teams will have to beat us while we destroy their quarterback....legally of course. On 3rd and long situations, take Ngata out, at least until he's close to 100%. Instead have Suggs, Jones, McPhee, Kruger as the d-line with Ellerbe and BA as the LB's. Work on defending the stretch play, it has become really popular in the league and we have defended quite poorly of late. (Watch the packers tape against Houston perhaps). Work on maintaining lane integrity in run defense, so as not to get creased. Also, work on using hands to get off blocks. I would also consider taking McPhee out of the base package since he's been getting pushed around as the 5-technique. He's not really suited to that position anyways because he's a little on the light side. (only 280) Jones would be his replacement there. This would also keep McPhee fresh for pass rush situations.

Many of the guys on defense have had to grind to earn their starting spots. The guys who have been drafted high have been told they are busts and the established players are too old according to many media pundits. These guys are not going to lay down. They will come back fighting.

If I were the HC..

1- I've have a come to Jesus meeting with myself . Enough with the passive coaching, enough with cover thing's up for my OC and DC's. Enough with thinking this team and it's Vets can motivate themselves. last for myself would be to admit that in the last 4 years I've blown some GREAT chances at Super Bowls.

2- Have a come to Jesus meeting with Joe, Cam and Caldwell. I want answers to why Joe and the O is not adjusting to what the D is giving. Why the game plans/Schemes are not adapting as the games progress, is it Joe or is it Cams stubbornness?

3- Excuse Joe...Ask Cam to write down what Olineman he wants for his Offence. Ask what receivers/tight ends he wants....and so on. Tell Cam I want see his game plan for the next game by weeks end and LET HIM KNOW...I'm giving you what you want, now give me at least a Football game from the O, where myself and the Fans aren't standing there with the deer in the head lights look!!

4- Excuse Cam...Just for "future" sake ask Caldwell to give you the game plan he would do. Causing controversy? Good I hope Cam feels the heat. A change is coming do your freaking job.

5- Come to Jesus meeting with Peas. Same as Cam who do you want? I want to see your game plan for next game. Were already getting beat by running and passing. I want more press cover, I would like to see more pressure be it by blitzing corners or others. Maybe the reason why our receivers can't get away from press coverage is because they practice against our D....Who don't do Press coverage!!! Why do I not see the swarming D from our players? Are we not teaching "Play Like a Raven" anymore.

6- Meeting with my Vets. What are they seeing and how do they feel about our young players. How can they help in getting those players better prepared for games. Whats their take on our current coaching staff and what changes would they like. Let them know changes are coming and I need their help on getting that organized Chaos back.

7- Look at Cams game plan and fire him! Look at Peas Game plan and Kick him in the butt and tell him to take it out on the Browns and don't stop there! Tell Caldwell here is your chance give me consistency or it will be next man up!

8- Call a team meeting and say changes have started...Were all payed to do a Job and the Ravens Organazation has One saying....PLAY LIKE A RAVEN! If you can't then next man up!

Next day Oz fires me.....lol

This team has far too many long-term projects like David Reed, Sergio Kindle, Laquan Williams just to name a few. What we need is immediate help and some playmakers to replace top players we have lost to free agency. Again, the organization's loyalty to its players is laudable but it is a business. In business, there is no such thing as the status quo. You are either getting better or worse. Yesterday is a cancelled check; tomorrow is a promissory note; today is cash; make sure you spend it wisely. As the great coach of the Washington Redskins was fond of saying, "The future is now." There needs to be more of a sense of urgency among more players and coaches. When organizations face adversity, great organizations take immediate steps to give their teams a chance to compete and win. On Sunday, not only did our team not win; we did not even compete.
