Steve Bisciotti's Opinion?

30 posts in this topic

I wouldn't mind hearing what Bisciotti's plans/thoughts of this season thus far are. Although I do appreciate his relative silence, as it keeps our locker room from becoming a circus unlike the Cowboys for example. Would just like to hear whats on his mind, are there any interviews with him involved? Or is he mostly leaving things to Ozzie and co (wouldn't mind hearing Ozzie speak either, mind you our staff is pretty good at giving Vanilla answers to keep media at bay)

IMO they don't really need to say anything - and it's good that they don't

Now if they fired/replaced Cam/Pees, that'd be something else. Actions speak louder than words.

He generally stays very quiet during the season, I think there may have been a small Q&A semi-recently, though...

Publicly quiet. I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall when he spoke with Harbs after yesterday's "game"!

That's what I'm saying! If I was him, I'd be looking at my roster, just flabbergasted as to how, with such talent (at least on the offensive side of the ball, the defence has been stricken with injuries) that we can consistently put up AT THE VERY LEAST 15-20 points/game (Closer to 20 for God's sake)

that guy knows how to own a team.
no meddling, he lets the guys do what they need.
at this point, I think he will be passive aggressive...

Really don't want to hear his opinion mid-season unless he's made a coaching change. He does it best. He puts the football minds to work and he sits back. He probably doesn't have many 'sessions' with Harbs privately.

Always look forward to his end of year chats.

9 pts against Kansas City Chiefs and no TDs. The Chiefs for crying out loud. Drew Brees has thrown a TD in every game for at least 3 years, and at least 6 without his real head coach. If Mr.Bisciotti can not or does not address this he will never win a ring. I am glad he is a classy owner but their comes a time to say "hey" this has to change. Business owners don't lose much money before they are making changes

I agree with your view of "He does it best". Keep quiet in the media as to not create any sort of controversy or distraction. But I guarantee he speaks with Harbs on a somewhat regular basis. Not to direct him, but to keep his finger on the pulse.

Brees also has a good offensive coaching staff and more consistent weapons. Two things Flacco has never had. Also, Brees' stats in his first four years are eerily similar to Joe's first four years.

Yea, I agree that I like the fact that he stays out of the Ravens' way and does what an owner is supposed to do: make more money, trust the FO and give them what they ask for. I would however love to hear what he thinks on the issue. I'm sure he wasn't happy watching the game, but he's a super smart business man who doesn't miss the forest for the trees and probably feels that 5-2 and atop the AFC North with the Browns coming up is a pretty good spot to be in.

and both also had the same *cough* coordinator

I'd love to hear his thought too but he won't make any move for coach changes without personal consult with Ozzie, so Ozzie is full control of this...

even if he did do some sort of interview, he wouldn't say anything different than usual. Bisciotti method beats Jerry's method every day of the week though. if your owner needs to talk trash for your team to win a game, somethings wrong. stay classy steve.

He must be incredibly frustrated. I figured our defence may fall from the top 5 but I figured it'd always be a top 15....to drop off this badly hurts.

His a bigger fan than most of us are. Im sure he had his moment of frustration and bliss this season. For now, theres time. Bye week is crucial to turn this around. Im sure Biscotti will be quietly be analyzing our coaches that are on the hot seat to see whether they have the ability to rebound from here on out and make good adjustments.

Our owner isn't Irsay or Jones. He lets the football experts run the team.

I would expect to see some heads roll if we lose to the Cleveland Browns. Our final record will be 9-7 at best if we lose to the Browns after the Bye Week. Like I've always said. "there's not a lot of difference between a 10-6 team and a 6-10 team." It doesn't take very long for a very good team to fall apart once it loses focus. Remember, Mr. Biscotti really wanted Jason Garrett, not John Harbaugh. Unfortunately, he just hired the wrong Harbaugh. That's all, folks!

I'm not really sure what Steve Bisciotti's opinion would contribute to the conversation. If you will recall, Steve wanted to hire Jason Garrett. After watching the Cowboys botch some last minute heroics against us and self-destruct against the Giants on Sunday night, it would appear that Jason Garrett is no better equipped than John Harbaugh to be a head coach. I would be hard pressed to pick between the two, but I'd still probably give the edge to Jason Garrett and that's not saying much.

I think Harbaugh is fine as head coach. Its our coordinators that are talking the talk but not walking the walk. They tell us how they want to get better, all the things they're doing, how sick they are of where we're at....News Flash the fans have been sick of our lacklustre offence since the teams inception, the defence is a new thing, but for god sakes how hard is it to teach the guys how to shed a block and maintain gap control!

I know he's thinking Pees was the wrong answer. Jesus rushing 4 and sitting in zone with an occasional CB blitz. Might as well called back Mattison

What's funny about that is most defenses operate that way... Some do more man than zone but still. Even most 3-4 team rush 4 on most downs. Ravens fans have been spoiled by having Rex Ryan and by playing against the Steelers. I know that's how we and the Steelers have traditionally played defense, but that is shockingly not the norm.

I am sure SB wants to win a Super Bowl, and this staff was within seconds of wining last season's title. By paying the Genuis for three seasons not to coach (?) the team, he will not do anything rash, I hope.

It seems we are trying to go from a great D to a great O, and Harbs got the job primarily beacuse he worked cheap. With JH's current NFL won lost record, he may be in high demand throughout the league.

Not sure when his contract is up, but look for the Ravens to dump some vet $$$ to sign Joe, and a Left Tackle, repeat, Left Tackle. Moving Oher over has weakened two of the five positions. We seem to have a lot of players on the roster for no appearant reason. It must be cap space, or lack there of.
