Any Still Missing J.lew And Da?

23 posts in this topic

Last season when Cle. was having their best offensive season in a while, many people were calling for Ozzie's head for letting J.Lew and DA get away. The question i have now is simple. With Flacco, and the 3 headed monster playing so well........

IS there anyone out there that still wants DA and JLew on this Ravens team?

i think that there will always be a place in my Ravens heart for Jamal Lewis.... THE RAVEN. Jamal Lewis the Brown can be shown the door thank you very much, just simply because of all that He did for this team and this franchise, won the SB with us, and rushed for over the 2,000 yard mark back in 2003, heck not even LT ran for that much....THE LT prior to this season that is....... the most yardagehe ever rushed for in the NFL was over 18 hundred yards, and J Lew rushed for over 2,000! for that Lewis the Raven will always have a place in my Ravens Heart for sure

as for DA, he never did anything for us, he never started, never really contributed to the team on game day so no i dont miss him.

I wont lie. I wish we would have kept Jamal. He has a much better work ethic then McGahee and McClain. Imagine how much better both of them would be if they worked as hard as Jamal during the offseason. Anderson never played a down for the Ravens in the regular season, so as far as I am concerned he was never a Raven.

I don't think anyone can question the decision made by the FO to let Lewis go. I say that now, I'd say it if he went back over 2k last year, and I'd say it if he didn't break 500 yards. He was in decline. We were a run based offense. They didn't think they could get what they wanted through the draft so they went after McGahee. A younger back with less wear-and-tear, and someone that could provide some homerun speed where Lewis couldn't.

DA, on the other hand, Shouldn't even be in the conversation. He really won the job because they didn't want to put Quinn in as a rook, and Charlie Frye was a really bad quarterback. And in that offense, I could have gotten to the Pro Bowl at QB. And this year we have seen him for what he was here, and what he is, and that is not an NFL starting quarterback.

I think he meant AD.

I don't "miss" either of them, not from a personal standpoint anyway, they both left for personal reasons. So in that respect, I enjoy looking back at their success on the field, but I don't personally feel bad when Lewis stutter steps for negative yardage, or AD falls over from his head getting too big. (I mean, after all, now his wallet can cushion the fall.)

EDIT: Nevermind, OP meant Derek Anderson. I think he's over-rated. I didn't believe it one bit when people said he would produce anything but lackluster numbers this year. (fantasy)

No, I think he meant DA, as in Derek Anderson, the Browns' Backup?

Definitely never missed Derek Anderson at any point, from when he was first released to when he had his "breakout season" last year.

Still don't.

Meanwhile, I wouldn't mind seeing Jamal Lewis back with this team in any capacity at any point. I'm still grateful for all he's done as a Raven. However, as long as he's a Cleveland Brown, I have nothing but disdain for him.

He's practically dead to me for as long as he's in uniform for any AFC North team other than the Ravens, for that matter.

Again, I'm grateful. But signing with the Browns was the biggest betrayal in terms of the business side of football, as it relates to being a Ravens fan. Especially considering my blinding hatred of the Browns compared to my dislike of the rest of the AFC North.

We missed DA last year when he went on a streak and it was apparent McNair was now a chronic injury waiting to happen and Boller was still Boller.

Joe & Troy pretty much should put to rest any debate about Anderson.

I missed Jamal last year but McGahee has proven he's just as good, this feeling was revisited earlier this year but withe Rice's last two games the three headed monster is the way to go.

No, I don;t. I think we should keep Kyle as our third QB

Kyle is a better QB, and has been a better servant to the organisation. Plus he will probably cost less than DA given that he's never been on that plane to Hawaii. So I'd really prefer him as a No. 3.

If it was simple as that, DA v. Kyle, I'd take Kyle every day of the week.
It's not as simple as that though. I doubt we can afford to keep a former 1st round pick to be our 3rd stringer.

Nope. We don't need TWO young QBs backing up a very young starting QB.

We're better off with a veteran like Boller as our insurance policy as the #3 QB.

I don't like it when teams operate with only two QBs on their roster...look at what happened to KC, when they were down to their third-string (and I also believe fourth-string) QB(s) in a matter of two games.

I like boller a lot but I don't think we should keep him as our third. We should let him go somewhere else for a fresh start. Detroit perhaps? Get a little chemistry goin with Calvin Johnson?

Anderson wont come here as a backup and Boller is not going to stay. Kansas City, NYJ, Detroit, and Minnasota, possibly Tampa and Carolina, are all going to be looking for starting QB's next year. Anderson would be a better option then any rookie. And Boller could step in and a be starter on a team that doesnt want to start a rookie right away.

All I can think while reading this thread is how much harder it would have been to just type Jamal Lewis and Derek Anderson. ???? lol

And those asking for Ozzie's head were DA.

yea i think it would have made things much for easier. lol

Speaking of the moves between Ozzie and Phil(Savage). Is there anyone who still thinks that Phil got one over on Ozzie in the Draft day trade for Ngata. (just to remind everyone, Ozzie sent a 6th round pick to the Browns to move one spot to select Ngata, Browns select Wimbley).

I remember hearing a lot of people questioning Ozzies decision making on that day. Any regrets(figured i'd keep the fun going lol)

Woah. I just pictured Boller in a Red Kansas City Uniform. That picture is strange!
