90% of the public is betting on the Ravens.

They opened -3, have moved to -3.5.

Teams at -3 or -3.5 on the road this season are 2-9, both ATS and SU.

Vegas wasn't built on bookies being dummies.

Probably the most worrisome thing I've seen with respect to this game.

Odds don't worry me at all. Lack of pass rush does.

This game is the quintessential "trap game." If we struggle against the Browns after our Bye week, heads should roll...

You would think we'd come out and blow their doors off but we've been in that situation before and performed otherwise.

So true. With how tough Cleveland plays most divisional games, I'm just hoping for a win.

He didn't see many targets in the first game but Josh Gordon should definitely play a bigger role this time around and he could give Jimmy and Cary problems.

Run the ball. Bring Pierce into the game more. Let Leach maul. Play action. Develop some more creative routes and exploit any mismatches. That should be the plan here.

Oh wait, shouldn't that be the plan for all of our games??

Just a question.. who is going to cover Josh Gordon? Because I think that had they used him against us they might've won.

I'm anxious to see how our passing attack fares with the return of Joe Haden. Cleveland's secondary has played better than their rankings indicate. They've given up a good deal of yardage, but they still rank 12th in yards allowed per passing play. I'm sure the fact that their offense is second to last in TOP has something to do with it. Unfortunately, our offense ranks 32nd in this category. That's was a surprising stat. I had to double take at first glance.

Well , I for one along with my family are excited about this game,Mostly because we will be there in Cleveland(heard the Browns are harsh....) . That being said the previous game was only a 2 score game . Containing Trent will be a top priority !!!!
Hope to see some other Ravens fans in Cleveland...strength in numbers :)

Was there the day after Xmas in '10(Ravens won)Nice stadium, but it was cold as hell.I think the Ravens win a close one (by 3) due to the Browns shooting themselves in the foot.

Cleveland is in the AFC North and regardless of our Pass rush struggling we can not take the AFC North lightly...
In order to stay on top we got toss this guys around like rag dolls and maintain our dignity as the one and only in the National Football League known as the "Ravens Defense."

Lol. Thats a lot of "if"s. I sort of hope we can get by without so many.

The way I see it, you just had a pretty rough loss that put an exclamation point on any problems and an extra week to self-scout and put a plan together. While a single game doesn't indicate how the rest of your season goes, in theory this should be the best game you play all year (at your current health) because they don't have the bye week advantage.

I would expect you guys to have a convincing win this week. Assuming everyone executes properly, this is a coaching battle.

Good luck!

I think the defense shows up with a chip on their shoulder and plays like they did in Week 1. At least, I'm optimistic.

With Suggs back, I'm confident about our defense....he is our one-man-army......

Pitta dissapeared after week2. He let himself go and relaxed. Time to step your game up.
What an insightful post! You sure are full of them! I think it's painfully obvious that teams have started to realize that Pitta is Flacco's favorite target and have subsequently game planned to stop Pitta. It's just not intelligent to assume that Pitta "let himself go and relaxed."

Heard some alarming stats on 105.7 this morn. on my way in to work: Flacco's QB at home is 106.5 and 55.8 on the road. Now, the announcer said "Flacco has to get better on the road" and while I agree some of it's on Flacco I wondered how much was on Cam's game planning, so I took it a step further and looked into why that road stat could be so low. In our 2 road losses to Tex and Phi, we ran the ball 12 and 21 times and passed 43 and 42 times, for a pass to rush play percentage of 67% to 34% and 78% to 22%. In none of the 5 wins did they have a higher pass percentage nor lower rush percentage....they averaged a 57% to 43%. It would seem that we use a far more balanced attack at home than on the road, and theres an obvious difference between the 5 wins vs the 2 losses. If Cam has Flacco trying to wing it 40+ times @ the Browns, he should be strung up.

I don't see how this can be a 'trap game'. The Ravens have had two weeks to stew on the debacle in Houston, their first chance to right to ship is against the Browns.
Pitta was targeted 23 times in the first 2 weeks, and only 24 times in the next 4 weeks (out 1 game). Sounds like Cam's the one relaxing!

Expect the Browns to go all out to stop the run. They know our team has a tendency to abandon the run early if not successful. When that happens the Ravens become more susceptible to turning the ball over and putting our defense on the field.

I agree. Cam needs to get him more involved man. Dickson too, I only remember seeing him catch like 3 balls? Why aren't we using our 2 good TEs more?!!

they want to force Joe Flacco to beat them with his arm. that's what i'd do as well until he proves that he can. we'll see how it goes on Sunday.

It's been an insane hectic week at work for me so I usually like to post something earlier in the week but really am just getting around to hopping on here.

I will share a couple of my thoughts:

-- Saw some comments about our defense. They are "improving" but really I still don't buy into them as much as last week's result would make you believe. We held San Diego to 6 points in nasty weather and against a struggling offense. We did good yes but we still have some improvements to make. The good news is that Phil Taylor (our best defensive lineman IMO) is returning this week from injury so that should give us a BIG boost in stopping the run.

-- Our offense has very much improved overall as a unit; the last three weeks Weeden has really looked like he is getting it. He's made some bad throws by mainly overthrowing some receivers but his only interception in the past three weeks was a tipped ball against Cincinnati. If our damn receivers could learn how to catch though (22 drops this year so far I believe which probably leads the NFL) we could be a lot better... way too many stupid mistakes in that area and it really has to improve.

-- Richardson needs to learn when to run it straight up the middle or in-between the numbers and when to stop bouncing around like a jackrabbit. He has great potential and has done really well overall this year but when he's had a bad game it's been a BAD game. There seems to be no middle as of yet for him.. it's really great or really poor.

I think Cleveland does has a legitimate chance to hang around in this game and possibly steal a win but obviously Baltimore is still the favorite. I think the only thing that keeps us in this game is that your defense so far just isn't your "defense" of the norm and we can try to expose that.

Here's hoping for a good matchup and game no matter the result and as usual I'll drop by Sunday afternoon with my thoughts. =]

If Cleveland sticks with the run we could be in big trouble friend. I do think however if we just stick to the run and pass on occasion across the middle to Pita we will be ok. Control of the ball is the name of the game and the only way we will win.

Our D cannot stop anyone so keep it out of their hands and we should be fine. I do not think that during the season is the time to practice a new offense. Ecspecially when our Defense is so weak.

We need to just play ball control and we will win. Seems sad since it is the Browns we are playing but that is how far we have fallen. I know any NFL team could win any game but a game against the Browns should have been a cake walk for us but instead it is a game we need to win but will have to fight for it.
