The Terrell Suggs Appreciation Thread

Is there any way to find out what Suggs was prescribed to medically? It seems absurd, that he could naturally heal like that.

No hate, if its HGH or roids... a players health comes before anything else and is more important imo.

nope, only the team knows how Suggs is healing,to your second point, its nothing illegal, others here will more then likely roast you for even suggesting suggs or the team would support anything illegal.

The players are just straight up losing their matchups, are you trying to tell me this defense would be up there with 2000 and 2006 if we had a different DC?
Lol..can you stop putting words on peoples mouth? Where did 2000/2006 defense come from?

Read what you wrote, then re-read what i wrote.

That's what some of these people seem to think.

What's funny to me is that none of them knew who Pagano was, but when he said he is an aggressive play caller in his press conference announcing him as our DC, everybody was up his rear, because they think this is Madden where sending in 6 works like a charm.

But here we have Pees, who has shown a great balance of different looks, and people crucify him for actually having a great understanding of the game.

You got to be kidding me.
it wasn't a bad tear... That's what was said from day one, don't people understand this. It was up near his calf, not his heel, and was a tiny tear. The tears tear the heel are far worse.

Yeah, I love how we can line up 4 men in a front, play run, give up 9 yards against the run and still think our problem is the scheme.

After this game I've started putting more blame on Pees. The majority still falls on the players. My only complaints about Pees are his soft [profanity deleted] coverage shells and the inefficient blitzes, or perhaps the lack of blitzes. I'm beyond frustrated with our big, physical corners playing 10 yards off their WR. I'm beyond frustrated with receivers catching the ball when there isn't a purple jersey in sight. Why don't we press?! Why don't we at least play man coverage? As for the defensive line, why don't we ever call stunts or loops? Pagano was so good at that. I could probably count the amount of stunts Pees has called on one hand. The Texans slaughtered us with stunts and loops. So did the Eagles. The Cowboys had success on stunts too.

I love Pees' knowledge of the game, and his ability to give a plethora of different looks. But his flaw seems to be identical to Cam's; He is completely unable to mask the deficiencies of his defense or play his defenders to their strength. Obviously, much of that goes on the players. We need an overhaul on defense. New players, and possibly a new coordinator.

Suggs is amazing. Still, its pretty disheartening that even with him returning and playing a great game considering the circumstances, the D still got rolled. Hopefully, Haloti heals up during the bye and the d-line can be solidifed to an extent.

Suggs is the best player we have on defense. Just having him out there battling made me feel better about our chances. Unfortunately, Flacco kept throwing the ball to the players in red.

I am a radiologist and friends with surgeons who have done all sorts of sports surgeries...from ACL-LCL, hernias, shoulders, biceps, triceps and even achilles and I can confirm what he is saying is valid. The worst of the achilles comes from the actual achilles heel which takes a long time to heal no pun intended and the one Suggs sustained lies in the fibers allocated near the calf which are still conected to the achilles. So Suggs did pretty much dodge a bullet but is still a bad situation and could be reinjured.

Suggs didnt have "the worse of the achilles tears". The achilles heel and achilles tendon is where all the bad tears are caused, once the surgery is done it takes a long time for the heel to recover because the tissue of that part is thin and brittle and the achilles tendon is very fragile. BUT Suggs had a partial ligament tear of the achilles up near his calf region. Basically Suggs didnt have that bad of an injury put it like that. He did not take HGH or any type of steroids thats rediculous.

Just joining the conversations today. Can't wait to see what I missed yesterday.

But damn Suggs surpassed my expectations. I asked myself the question last night. If I had to choose between Webb/Lewis and Suggs for the season. I'd probably go Suggs. His playing style is really the glue to our defense. He helps the DL, the LBs and the corners. He can stop the run game and rush the passer. Gets his hands up, just plays smart.

I smiled so big when Sizzle got his first sack. What a beast.
One of the few moments worth smiling for. But I agree with what everyone has said. Suggs has a partial tear, I'm not at all surprised that he's back and looks pretty good. He'll get in game shape during this break, and he'll be just as good as last year. I have faith he could turn this defense around. Also giving Ngata some time to heal will be good. I just wish we had a better answer at corner than Jimmy Smith and Cary Williams.

It may not be a beauty contest, but the Sizzle sure looked beautiful to me yesterday.
Hope some of that grit and determination rubs off.

One of the few positives I gleaned from this loss.

I was one of the MANY people who said he should sit this game out. Boy was I wrong.

He wasn't even in 100% football shape, but wow, talk about a TRUE impact player. Outplayed most of the other guys on the team (on both sides of the ball) after seeing no game action since January. The man is unreal.
I also believed that his playing in the Houston game would be a big mistake.

The return of Terrell Suggs to the lineup was an inspirational and awesome display of guts, courage and athleticism! It showed why he is the DPOY. Eat your heart out, JJ Watts!
