The Terrell Suggs Appreciation Thread

One of the few positives I gleaned from this loss.

I was one of the MANY people who said he should sit this game out. Boy was I wrong.

He wasn't even in 100% football shape, but wow, talk about a TRUE impact player. Outplayed most of the other guys on the team (on both sides of the ball) after seeing no game action since January. The man is unreal.

two time DPOY ?
Maybe. If he plays like this with next to no practice since Febuary ?

The man is a beast and he is on the prowl.

When he punked Duane Brown my jaw dropped. It's great to have him back. Him and Tucker made this game watchable. Too bad Tucker didn't got many opportunities....

It was incredible, to not only suit up and play but make an impact. I expected him to maybe join in on an assisted tackle. Of course if fate allowed us to have Webb back there and a good corner opposite him that would be even better.

I honestly never expected what I saw from Suggs. It was a warm welcome for sure. Too bad it was all for nothing.

One of the talking heads on NFLN said a source told him that the Ravens and Sizzle had this game marked for his return since the summer. If nothing else, we can keep a secret! Had everyone buffaloed.

he is amazing! I remember in the Spring he said he was targeting this game then clammed up about it. Other then looking little winded he looked great, only way to get in football shape is to play football.

Well, if Suggs could make a come back like this what about Lewis !?!?!?!?!
He better. Lewis will be back next year. Offseason activities this year include p90x, and sleeping, anything else is banned.

It's surely unreal; the dude is not human. Suggs somewhat made this embarrassing loss into a little less painful.....

"The bye comes at the right time for the Ravens, who are dealing with injuries to Suggs, Reed (chest, shoulder),
Haloti Ngata (knee) and Kelechi Osemele (ankle)."

It doesn't list anything for Suggs, so is it just treating his getting back into top form as an injury or did he actually hurt himself?

suggs was a warrior being out there 30+ snaps today. i know it was an offensive trainwreck and kind of a waste of effort as far as the game is concerned, but you can feel his presence back on the field..

i honestly was hoping that he wasn't going to attempt to play today out of fear that he'd push himself too hard and reinjure himself, but that's just the kind of competitor he is. let's hope for the best that reed, ngata and pollard are going to be allright after what looked like potential setbacks, and the boys can get back to ravens d after the bye.

If there was a silver lining at all, it was his return. He looked great and will only continue to improve. The SIZZLE is back!

I think this exposes our real problem, it's not the coaching so much as the personnel.
Uh...you think Suggs needed coaching? He is a long time veteran, so putting coaching in perspective with Suggs is a silly idea. That probably was all him. Coaching stunk major balls, as you can clealy tell, the new/young guys are having alot of trouble missing assignments left and right

Uh... you missed the point by a mile, Suggs outplayed everyone else because he's a better player. It's got nothing to do with age, only one is a rookie and the rest should be hitting their stride with development. Kruger, Cody, McPhee, McClain, Ellerbe etc have all regressed.

An aggressive DC means an aggressive D. Pees is conservative, therefore our d sux. Pees needs to go, it's not an excuse like Cams is where Flacco and Ray can still win games (his actual plays aren't bad, it's just the order he calls them in). We won't keep winning if the d continues to play like this. We will rebound, we always do.

I think you misunderstood what i said.

I was pointing out that Suggs does not need coaching, compare to younger players.

You said coaching is not the problem, as much as the personnel. I disagree. I say the younger player needs alot of coaching. The personnel doesnt exactly stem/build players ability as much as coaching does.

I didnt say anything about age. I said Suggs is a veteran, meaning he has alot of experience. Maybe you took few of the words i said out of context..

The players are just straight up losing their matchups, are you trying to tell me this defense would be up there with 2000 and 2006 if we had a different DC?

agreed. not the coaches fault if you cannot cover anybody or you cannot beat your man man to man.

suggs brought more pressure with about 70% of his strength back than our complete front seven did for 7 games...

That's what some of these people seem to think.

What's funny to me is that none of them knew who Pagano was, but when he said he is an aggressive play caller in his press conference announcing him as our DC, everybody was up his rear, because they think this is Madden where sending in 6 works like a charm.

But here we have Pees, who has shown a great balance of different looks, and people crucify him for actually having a great understanding of the game.
