Anyone seen this yet? Sounds like he at least gets there's a problem...lets see what he does to fix it.

Much like you said, glad to know he knows there's a problem. Question becomes though, is he the problem? Yeah, poor tackling certainly though doesn't help address the issue.

Guess some could say it's a 50 / 50 thing.

I'm glad he's upset about the defense because I was put off by the whole "Well as long as we're not giving up too many points" BS I heard during the games. We might not be last in points allowed but we're giving teams too many long drives that prevent our offense from getting the ball back and scoring. Our O hasn't gotten the benefit of wearing out a defense because our D is on the field all game tiring themselves out.

One 200 yard rushing game makes me sick, let alone two... Pees better get to work because if he does not fix this run defense, it will become his fault, ENTIRELY. This is Ravens football, we fix tackling problems, and the tackling has been poor, but will not continue. please fix the edge's...

Yea it's a brave new world. We're literally the '06 colts with 150% of their running game and 75% of their passing game... Hope our season ends like theirs did!

He blamed the coaching for many of the shortcomings as well. I like the self-awareness. Gives me hope. Not too much, but a little.
The only positive thing I can draw from our D's performance this season is, that it atleast showed us the we can count on Flacco and his O. I feel really good about where this offense is heading. Gotta fix those road woes though.

It better make him sick because we are all sick of this mess. If our defense was half as good as last year we would hands down be the best team in the league.

Good news is Ray Lewis has some free time on his hands. Maybe Ray and Dean can sit down for a little brain storming session.

This is one of those rare times where I'm ok with a coach publicly calling out his players, mainly because Pees is also holding himself publicly accountable as well.

It's one thing to throw your players under the bus. It's another thing to glue yourself to the pavement alongside them.

What follows after is that Pees "conservative" defense pisses off Ray, and Ray throws him into the wall like Brad Pitt threw that chair in moneyball. He isn't a bad cordinator, and not playing, but too conservative man.

Lets see some tackling. It feels like alot of players are trying to disguise themselves on missed assignment (ahem McClain), but its not working.

That mental image made me laugh out loud. Thanks for that man.

Except it's not BS. We held our opponents below 20 points per game. Not sure why everyone ignores that.

Because we're also one of the worst in the league in time of possession because of the defense.

Last year we held teams to 16 points and that includes 5 non-defensive touchdowns. We haven't had a return touchdown against us so far and we're giving up a fraction of a point shy of 20. That means our defense itself is giving up nearly 6 points more per game. Good for 11th in the league. We give up 20 per game, our opponents average 22 points per game.

The defense will get there. They'll get hot by the time the playoffs roll around. Thinking optimistically of course!

But really, it's a really inexperienced defense. I think we as fans, including myself, were very naive and foolish to believe our defense would maintain its usual dominance despite the turnover in personnel and influx of young and inexperienced starters. Our defense is playing pathetic football right now, but they have a chance to grow and improve greatly through years to come.

Hey no prob. After the Brad Pitt Scene, Ray then begins to throw him onto the field and dares him to take one snap to prove his point. Well, he lines up at LE, and Oher (being super pissed off on how poor they are playing) decides to take him to the bus on his way out(both of those movies were picture of the year IMO).
