The Return of Suggs Forces Kindle Out

Willis Reed effect maybe? And by saying he's playing, Houston will probably put aside time to game plan. Hopefully he waits a little more though.

Source with knowledge of Terrell Suggs' situation: 'He's not playing. I'd be shocked if he plays.'

zomg so many unnamed sources!

This one is probably correct, though

Schefter just reported Suggs expects to play this Sunday. That his family is traveling to Houston to see him play, in one of the quickest returns for this type of injury.

He won't return this week. I'd be shocked, I'd let him rest. I want the guy to walk when he's older.

No way he plays, there just playing head games with houston.. If he does play I would be shocked, but it makes more snce to just rest him until after the bye.

I doubt he plats Sunday, but i dont put anything outside the realm of possibility. Every person heals differently, some faster, some slower. It's certainly possible he is rdy...my concern would be allowing him to get back into football shape first.

Hey maybe its the Ravens way of taking focus off the losses of Webb and Ray. Get people talking about Suggs, who has no problem getting all the attention, and less talk about all the negative surrounding the team heading into this big game

If Suggs can play, then let him play. So many different sources, one says he won't play, others say he will play, guess we'll find out Sunday.

Is this just some sort of gamesmanship maneuver by Harbs and Co.? It'd be great if Suggs ran out into the huddle for the first snap and then held up a sign that said, 'Naw, just playin',' and then ran back to the sidelines.

Hey funky, why don't you go back to the Manning jersey avatar? I'd rather look at that then the Colts helmet.

If he's ready, then good. Great.

Also, I tend to think Ellerbe is a fantastic substitute for Lewis. I like our chances with him on the field. We were 4-0 last year in that situation. Jimmy Smith is a great replacement for Webb, as well, but it would have been nice to keep Webb this season. Oh well. I don't foresee much of a drop-off in our defensive production, honestly. I think we actually will do better from here on out than we did during the first 6 games of horrible play.

Even If he does play, he will have no effect on this game he hasn't practiced for 6 months up until this week. So were stuck with kruger and upshaw watching foster run by them for this week

i tend to disagree... No effect whatsoever? Just bc he hasnt practiced doesnt make him completely inadequate. I played soccer at a high level, then took 2 years off without practice and when i came back my very first game was one of my best ever.

Im not saying thats the rule, its more of an exception. but last year suggs was the DPOY. he was among the best, if not THE best in the game. Even if hes only 75% thats still better than 75% of defensive players in the league in my opinion. Reputation alone will get him double teamed until the other team proves they can stop him one-on-one.

Chris Mortenson just said on mike and mike that this is very dangerous to bring him back now....
If Dr Chris Mortenson (who has been examining Suggs during this whole injury) thinks its too soon, then I do not know why Terrell is coming back. :sarcasticclap:

"beside me on the practice" field,
to me, means nothing, sorry if you do not agree but I want my best player to be playing on Sunday if he can of course.
Your comment about it meaning nothing pertained to him on the practice field. Go to the video section and watch all the players talk about what it means to have him "beside them on the practice" field. Of course, I'm sure you know more about it than them. C'mon man.

All im saying is we shouldn't expect a huge impact right away, and too me he looks out of shape. Would just be better in my opinion to let him rest.

Hear me out. Here's my theory on when exactly Suggs plays this season. It is somewhat conspiratorial but I am beginning to believe it though.

My theory is that Suggs is fully healed and ready to play against Houston. He will show up on the 43 man roster and surprise, surprise - Suggs is in the game! How can he be game ready you may ask? Looking at the shape he is in, it seems he is in football ready shape already. He looks really well conditioned and may actually have been practicing in a clandestine manner without the knowledge of media and fans. He may not play the entire game but play in pass rush situations against Houston, and then continue to play more and more snaps over the next few games.... I think playing a few snaps against Houston may actually help him get back in shape quicker too...

Harbs has a great poker face when speaking about Suggs, but still maintains what great a shape he is in.... he is covering for not trying to sound disingenuous when he actually plays this sunday I believe....

I know, I know - conspiracy theory, but very plausible indeed!
See Above! And see news reports about Suggs possibly playing... if he plays I am genius, if he doesn't pretty close to being genius! :oldwiseman: Read article below....

Suggs himself speaks about the status for Sunday:

Initial reports were a partial tear, IIRC. Then they got real quiet about it because of the controversy about how he was injured. Regardless, I think it's a smokescreen and expect him back post-bye. If he's ready though, put him in. If there was any doubt that he was, he won't play.

I don't want Suggs to rush his return. If he plays I'll cheer him on while watching his every movement in fear , but prefer that he sits out the Houston game, then we have the Bye Week, and he could suit up vs Browns (possibly with a snap count). I just don't a re-injury or even serious injury to occur. Plus I'm sure he needs to build his cardio up for gameday
