Eagles Fire DC Juan Castillo

The Eagles have fired their Defensive Coordinator Juan Castillo after Sunday's loss. Right guy fired? With Vick's turnovers having a lot to do with the Eagles' issues, I tend to feel Castillo is their scapegoat and not the real issue.

I kind of had this thought as well but I don't see us making a change at DC right now.

I don't want a guy who has been an [b]offensive line[/b] coach all his life to be our DC.

Like I said, I had the thought but wasn't really the purpose of posting. I just think he's taking the fall for Vick and offense's failures.

He's the scapegoat. This is just the beginning guys, both Reid and Vick will be gone in the off-season.

Reid has been off and on for most of his career. If they miss the playoffs I think they will cut ties with both vick and reid. I think Castilo got fired because he gave up too many 4th quarter leads in the year and 1/2 he was the dc

He wasn't good in the fourth quarter, but this year they're 13th in the league in PPG allowed, 12th in total yards allowed, 15th in passing yards per game allowed, 2nd in opposing quarterback rating, and 15th in rushing yards per game. So they're middle of the league defensively. Right now their 27th in the league in scoring offense and 25th in quarterback rating specifically. It was a poor hire to begin with given he had ZERO experience at any meaningful level as a defensive coordinator, but the Eagles' defense is certainly not the main problem they have this season.

Still trying to figure out why Andy Reid is still there. Didn't he rush Castillo in that position last year? That's why Eagles can't win Super Bowls. Always pointing the finger in the wrong direction.
