Hm... just an idea here but why not contact the Raiders and see if we can get Rolando McClain from them?

Our defense, especially LINEBACKERS, better step up this Sunday. It's time to put or shut up. These 200 plus rushing yds games need to stop. And if not, bring in free agent E.J. Henderson, this guy is the beast, report say he is healthy and in great shape. We will have Bye Week and I expect for us to address this issue.

I know we put Ray on IR designated to return list but my question is why even do it in the first place? Why not keep him on the roster similar to what the Colts did with Peyton Manning. Despite the fact we all knew Peyton wouldn't play all last season, the Colts never put him on IR. My question is, why didn't we just do that with Ray and not put him on IR at all.

Because the designated to return rule wasn't in place last year. The Colts would have designated Peyton to return if so.

Because we decided to make the intelligent and logical decision to make an extra roster spot to fill the void. Keeping Ray on the active roster is neither intelligent or logical. We need healthy guys that can play on the active roster. That's why it's called the [u][i]active[/i][/u] roster.

mcclain did a pretty serviceable job last year with ray out those four games, let's hope he's up to the challenge this year. he's getting thrown right into the fire tomorrow.
