At least there is the new IR rule and we can put Ray on IR and bring him back later.
I think you can only do that once per season, and we've already done it with Suggs

Say what you will about his play dropping but he's still one of the best ILBs in the game.
That's because it is a position with a lack of talent in the league because it has such a low impact on the game.

I thought Suggs was on the PUP list.

IF he doesnt make it back to the field, this is a horrible way to end it! Just horrible.

I feel so bad for him right now. I know its a game and he was headed towards retirement soon anyway, but damn, not like this!

Like others have said Suggs has been on the PUP list and with the losses on defense it would be wise to get him ready for Houston next week. If Ray has to miss a game, at least we would have another leader back on the field in Suggs. Also like others have said, our D played pretty well without Ray last year so can we do it again? It will be tough without Webb.

Miss a game? Likely done for season, man. I wish it was "a game".

unfortunately father time sent ray a reality check today. this really sucks to a truly great man but i don't know what "drive" he might have left when your d is bad, you're on the sidelines forever, and you feel physically beat up from all the younger lineman you go against at his age. couldn't feel more sorry for him though.

Well I hope the defense can use this as a rallying point to up their game. Ray Lewis will be missed, but it doesnt mean the season is over.

we made it just fine with out Lewis for three or four games last year....
Deal with it, next man up.

Its different when its a whole season and youre losing a 17-year vet whos experience and leadership is very important for the playoffs.

If RL52 does miss the remainder of the season, at least he got in one last HUGE hit beforehand. Not only did Lewis lay the wood...he split it!

It helped to play the Colts, Browns, and 49ers in 3 of the 4 games Ray missed last year as well.

Ray cant go out like this. Ray wont go out like this. Big day tomorrow for him and Webby.
I agree, Ray may play another year. Webb may be ok. We don't know yet. But Webbs injury isn't as big of an impact, for the cb core next man up is possible. We have to turn to undrafted rookie Nigel Carr now. He has the ability, he just needs experience. We need to trade for a guy to adequately replace him.

i dont see Ozzie trading draft picks or players for that matter, best guess would be FA.

I've learned you can't do that in the ravens section and people actually understand you.

Too many noobs/know it all's who just have to get the last word

Is it confirmed its torn ans he's out for the year? Or are we waiting on a scan?
Nothing has been confirmed from the team whether it's Ray or Webb, even though i'm not very optimistic, I'm waiting for the team report of the MRI.

Wow, to lose Webb really hurts but to lose Lewis too. I am numb. If Ngata misses time too the next few weeks could be rough. I just don't or can't believe this is the way Ray's career will end though. He has got to come back from this.

Ray Lewis has a torn triceps and is likely out for the season, time to sign Josh Bynes to the Active Roster and Ladarrius Webb is out with the torn Acl we were already bad at the position now jimmy will be tested more and williams needs to step up or be gone.

I know I'm gonna get negged here, but Ray Lewis hasnt been that impressive to me so far this year. It's devastating to potentially lose his presence, but his play has slipped. I think we will be ok. It's not like our defense can get much worse....
As much as I love Ray...I have to say it may not be as horrific as it seems.

And, I was thinking too aboutthe whole defnse being as bad as they are. They brought in McBean (pass rusher), and I think his name is Mayweather(sp?) as a developmental pass rusher...both of htese guys promptly ended up on the IR.

Anyway, if Ray can't go this gives Kindle who is inactive 95% of the time a chance to show up.

With all the injuries this year , it makes looking back at last year all the more frustrating .

Last year was our year to hoist the Lombardi
Trophy .

Everything was gelling last year but Evans and
Cundiff got in the way .

These are big injuries, a big hit to the ravens defense.

Flacco and the offense need to step it up to help the defense now.

Believe me gabe..you will not have a Ray out, Webb out and Sugar Suggs out and continue too win games. The Steelers have had the injury Bug since day one. Can't tell you when the last time we had Harrison,Troy and Woodley in the Gm continuous. You see where that is leading us. Down,down....down.
This is wrong. Our D can't get much worse and we do have some folks that will step up to fill in. The squealers issues go much deeper than injuries, like lack of depth, an aging squad and the same problem that has been there, a horrible O line.

Football is a team game, and how your team is built top to bottom determines success or failure, not the play of any one or two individuals.

We've placed a lot of faith in young, unproven talent and now need to take that a step further. Who knows, this adverse situation may pull the TEAM together and force some marginal players to step up and play great. Losing Ray and Webb definitely hurts, but by no means does it spell the end of the 2012 Ravens season.
