Update: Ravens Doctors believe Ray may be done for the season.

I bet this was last game we ever see Lewis play in, if this is true.

Per Glazer: "[background=rgb(238, 238, 238)]Injury to Ray Lewis, docs don't believe tear in triceps is a complete tear but fear it is deep enough to finish him for the year. He was in too much pain for them to get a good gauge on the sideline. MRI in the AM to see the TRUE extent of it."[/background]

you dont, did you see the thread posted by the Front page,Ozzie said Refering to Ray Lewis,Reed,"they tell us when they are done",not the other way around"
That may be true, but we could certainly use the cap space from a Lewis retirement. He is grossly overpaid. Reed is as well, we can't afford to re-sign him this off-season, and with that step he's lost he is not the defender he once was.

With Ray Lewis not in the middle for some time,People will complain and want him back.

You got that right. Some of our fans are going to get a rude awakening. Ray had what 14 tackles in an incomplete game?

i think having him is hurting us now more than helping. The cap we are using to pay him isn't worth it team wise and could be certainly used on benefitting places of need (same with Ed). Also, he hasn't helped us performance wise (outside of stats) and is showing his age more than any other year. If he has an injury and is done for the year at his age, i don't see how he can't be thinking about stepping away now.

It was a product of quantity, not quality. Ray's play has not been very good this season, and people who refuse to admit that need to take off the purple tinted glasses.

I doubt it. Everyone else is playing lights out on defense besides Ray. He is the sole reason the defense has been lackluster.
Not really. The consensus is that it's a season ending injury. The debate is whether its a full or partial tear.

Didn't someone, I think Adrian Wilson of the Cardinals, play last season with a partial tear?

Edit: It was a Biceps tendon for Wilson.

Not sure what is so funny. Wilson was 32 years old last season. Clearly was no spring chicken himself and the injury doesn't effect a player's legs.

As much as I love Ray Lewis, Webb's loss is going to hurt a little more I believe. Remember the Ravens D picked it up when Lewis missed a few games last year.... we'll see what they are made of I suppose with their leader lost

ignorant.
I was just kidding. The comments about the magnitude of Ray's demise are just ridiculous.

Is Ray playing like he is in his prime? No, and no one is claiming he is but let's not be naive to the fact the outside LB are usually terrible at setting the edge, there is virtually no pass rush, Ellerbe/McClain/Ayanbadejo playing the Jack spot next to Ray aren't doing much, the interior line is getting thrown around, etc. It isn't ALL Ray's fault like some want you to believe.

Ray does lead us in tackles, in quantity & quality, and if he is out it hurts the team. Anyone that thinks otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about.
