Tell me this, would you rather be the cowboys on the flight home with all the stats or the Ravens with the win???
Tell me this, do you think anyone of those Ravens players is proud of their team's performance tonight, or over the last few games??

Where in my post did I say that? I certainly do not remember saying it. I do not remember even implying it. Your inaccurate assumptions do not make me wrong. I, in fact agreed that 5 and 1 are excellent. But it is just 6 games. Six games against less than stellar teams, that nearly everyone here had chalked up as wins. (come on, don't lie, you all know you did) We do not have to get worse. (I hope we don't) We are coming up on some of the tougher teams of our season. We cannot play the next 6 games the way we have played the first 6 and hope to have the same record.

So yes celebrate our success so far but admit that its not coming up roses. There are some big problems that NEED to be addressed or may not see that positive record again.
If we keep playing like this we will be lucky to be 6-10. Would you agree you said that?
The way we've been playing has won us 5 games out of 6.

No it's not all smiles and sunshine, but stop trying to convince everyone that the end of the world is nigh.

Football is meant to be enjoyable and fun. I love watching my Ravens, I don't let it upset me like it has upset some of you. I will enjoy the fact that we are at least the 2nd best team in the AFC (standings-wise) and that we have talent and the ability to correct some simple issues like missed tackling. I do not have blinders on. The Ravens never play pretty. NEVER. We always play like this. We play down and up to our competition. Enjoy the team. We are on a four game winning streak. Yes you can be concerned, but you all are acting like we are 0-6
Football is entertainment, but I don't understand how u can't get upset occasionally by the play of " Your Favorite team " while your in the midst of routing for them, you should have expectations for what you would like to see in their performance doesn't mean they will equal or surpass these expectations all the time been when they I don't it should bother you because you had an expectation of what they would do. If it's purely entertainment there is no need to cheer for a certain team just watch a the game. The Ravens are my team but even when I watch other games eventually at some point I may rout for one team more than the other by virtue of watching the game or perhaps because one team losing will benefit the Ravens in the standings.

Let me rephrase for clearer understanding; winning 5 of 6 of our first games is good, but it was against teams that are playing poorly this year. Since we are soon coming against teams that are performing very well, if we continue to play the way we have we may possibly lose, since our wins have relied almost solely upon our offense (which is very good but not fabulously glorious) and upon dumb luck. Is my point sufficiently clear?

I never said or implied it was the "end of the world", the end of the season, the end of the day, the end of anything. Again, you assumed. I said and implied very plainly, that all is not right with the Ravens and should they continue down this road without some sort of change then things could go very badly. I also conceded that we may very well continue to play this poorly and go straight to the SB. There is no telling how long dumb luck will last or how far it will take you, after all. If I was unclear on my prior posts, then I apologize.

Didn't we have a season where we lost CMac and Rolle (epilepsy)? I think it was 2008 and we still made the AFC Championship. We might not be the 2000 Ravens Defense, but we're also not the 2000 Ravens Offense.

You do love to make assumptions. What in any of my posts gave you the impression that I was privy to the teams thoughts or feelings? I merely asked a question of another poster who seem to be implying that poor play with a win was "good enough" to be happy about. Certainly a win is the goal, but we need to see lots of them if we want to get that big prize, and the play that I have seen gives me pause, and concern about our upcoming games. Particularly when I have seen far better from this team. Perhaps you have seen something I have not. If so please enlighten me.

I try to ignore them, but the pessimists are really starting to get on my nerves. If you don't like they way we're playing right now, fine, but I'm sick of listening to the ongoing jibberish about how bad we suck right now. I find it fun and exhilarating to watch them go out there and play, even when the games are close and we have huge flaws on some points. If it bugs you so much, why the heck do you watch the games?!?! 5-1. Against arguably our toughest schedule so far. 5-1.

the problem is the way we've been winning is based on luck. the luck will run out and skill will need to take over and if that doesnt happen..... well, lets hope next years draft is deep

I still can't believe we're 5-1. lol
I try to stay optimistic, but with 4 of our best defensive players currently hurt, I'm getting worried.
Let's hope our offense can score.

Rolle played the entire year and CMac was starting to suck anyway, although he did have some picks early on.

Maybe you guys (the ones that I consider to be wearing those purple shades) are right. Maybe I should just calm down and enjoy the ride, such as it is, and hope like (heck) that we stay lucky and just do that "find a way to win" thing. It is just very frustrating to sit and watch the game and wonder why we are not doing better against a team that seems to be not that good.

But Flacco has looked real good as has the whole offense for the most part. And we are 5 and 1. That could lead to 10 and 2 then 13 and 3. Not a bad record.

My heart just cannot stand all these close games. Nor can my fingernails.

if before the year started and you showed me a stat sheet of every game til now, i would've thought we were 1-5 without looking at the record. it is true we are getting lucky especially after Dez dropped game deciding points and hoping bailey misses the kick after you can't even handle the onside. our luck can't last forever especially on the road and we've only played 2 through 6 games.

Yes, the Ravens are not playing perfect. We all understand that. It's so infuriating though that everyone is talking down on this team.

We are 5-1, with a huge lead in the division. What more do you want? Appreciate it. If you can't enjoy what the Ravens are doing now, when will you ever be able to? This is the best it will ever get.

We seem to forget that the Cowboys are a professional team, too. You can't expect to dominate teams every time. Yes, they outplayed us. We won. End of story. All a team has to do is score more points. The rest does not matter.

We all love the Ravens. I understand the frustration. We have things to fix, but take a deep breath. The Giants looked like absolute crap last year and won it all, we are totally fine.

Time of possession:

Ravens: 19:57
Cowboys: 40:03

Defence really couldn't get off the field. I'm not used to this. This hurts me in my heart.

You are so wrong friend. We did not win. They had us beat but did not push the field goal through. In the last 2 weeks we gave up over 4oo yards in running alone. Luck has played a major role in our wins not our talent. Our defense is just nasty. We can stop no one period. To beat the ravens just run the ball, it is that simple. Your cheery, we won attitude just is denial that we have one of the worst defenses in the league and it needs to be fixed.

And to argue this fact is just another show of denial. Look at the numbers compared to the rest of the league. We have been LUCKY. I try to see th ebest in every game but today was a blatant punch in the face that we are hurting on defense and not even Suggs returning will help solve it. Williams getting burnt, the front line cannot stop the run and other teams know it. So please save the cup is half full crap for another day. Our defense is Horrible.

Is 31 not greater than 29? I must be missing something.

Reasons to Calm Down even more:

- Steelers Loss
- Bengals Loss
- Patriots Loss
- Texans Loss

The Number One Reason: We are tied with Houston for the best record in the AFC at 5-1!

...and this is exactly what calms me down! We need to fix some holes in our run defense for sure...but we can fix them with a record of 5-1, atop our division and tied for the conference. I know I'm quoting someone but "I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day."

Ed Reed must make some plays. Turnovers will be HUGE for this defense because we will probably give up a lot of yards.

I'm calm, no sky falling over me here in Harford County. How is the weather in the rest of Maryland? It seemed kind of like an Indian summer day today :)

But all kidding aside people have a right to be elated, relieved, concerned, indifferent, or whatever. You're not going to change someone who naturally sees something as glass half empty, half full, or both.

But again I do think that focusing too much on the negatives isn't productive. Sure venting some can help, but if venting doesn't calm you down then you need another outlet. For me, it helps when the teams I am rooting against lose. Then you see that no-one is perfect and therefore we have a chance to win every week. What else can you reasonably expect? Someone has to win or lose, or tie which is probably the worst outcome. It's like going to prom with your sister....yikes!!

We have issues on our team. I am not happy about these issues, nor am i saying you should be. Does this mean we should give up all hope? Check yourself Raven Nation. This is Baltimore.

So should we call the league office and tell them the cowboys should get the win and we will take the loss because you think we were lucky?

Good teams find a way to win.
I could care less about maybe, could have, should have, in the future, next week, any of that stuff. SCOREBOARD!!! 5-1.
Now we move on, and those that can't cry themselves to sleep tonight worrying about what might be and what almost was.
The truth is sometimes its better to be lucky than good! Glad we won and have breathing room in the standings. So SCOREBOARD that. Sorry! Not a glass-half-full kinda guy. Don't care if it meets with your approval. Lets see what the defensive coaching staff can come up with to fool the Texans.

This is a forum where people can come to vent, mull over thier frustrations, complain, praise and even argue. If you do not like that why do you bother to read the forum?!?! Nothing wrong with livng in Happyland, but some prefer reality. It is not pessimistic to discuss and/or point out the deficiencies of the team.

5-1 is good. But it could become 15-1 or 5-11. As yet we do not know.

We have to dig deep! I understand we need time to "grieve" but lets big up these bench guys! lets hype up the bench! This should be motivation for fans to cheer harder and players to study harder to anticipate things and see patterns.

2/3's of the earth is covered by water....the other 1/3 by Ed Reed. Ed Reed is still on the sqaud.

No. No no no no no no no. I am TIRED of the blinders some people have on. Stop trying to freaking sugar coat everything! Last week this is all anybody heard on this board and a couple of others: The Ravens are fine, we got the W, stop crying blah blah blah. I tried to say that the Browns and the KC losses were indicative of a greater problem and didn't bode well for the future, but nobody ever wants to even talk about it. We're just supposed to say, '5-1, yay!!,' and never look into anything else. Well, I'm sick of it. This team looked horrible out there today save for the offense (most of the time). They hardly even got a chance to play today because the Cowboys were eating us alive. If you don't think that's a problem, great but don't tell other people to, 'calm down,' when A) there isn't really much of a furor on this board currently and B ) there really isn't a reason to calm down and that includes our fraudulent record. Our only saving grace thus far has been the offense, the fact that we've played a ton of home games early and the teams facing us have just straight thrown us the win.

Saying the Ravens, 'aren't playing perfect,' is the understatement of the year and clearly isn't worth any merit. Not playing perfect is fine, nothing is ever perfect. Giving up 100 yards last week in the first half or giving up chunks of yardage at a time all game to what amount to practice squad fodder is waaaaaaay across the road from not playing perfect. Things need to be fixed, and it's okay that people point out that all is not 'fine' in Ravens Land at the moment. No one is looking for domination, we're looking for our team to rely on more than luck to get them through every single game. They're looking for guys to actually make tackles that we know they can make. We're asking for our ST ace to know how to fall on a simple squibber. We're looking for our defense to do what we were doing at home, and that's screaming, 'WATCH WITTEN HERE, WATCH OUT FOR JASON WITTEN,' instead of just leaving the guy in a wide open space every time the Cowboys are in a tough spot. Asking for those things isn't whining or not being calm.
I agree with you 100% Sir.

I wouldn't mind if we had this conversation every week. Fact of the matter is we're 5-1 which is only tied for best record in the AFC. Our sole loss was by 1 point. If we win ugly next week in Houston I wouldn't complain one bit. I'd take an ugly win over a graceful loss every day of the week. And let us not forget who we beat this week; a very talented, very motivated team that had 2 weeks to prepare for us.
