So after a tough game against KC and after many many fans asked for his head, Oher went up against one of the top pass rushers in the league in DeMarcus Ware and had, what I think, a GREAT game.

Thoughts?

I think it was a great day for Oher, The 1 sack Ware got, had as much to do with Bobbie WIlliams as anything. I think this was a really good test for the Oline in preperation for the Texans defensive front.

He had a great game. Cept for one play. Next week he takes on Watt tho. Im crapping my pants now.

Well, the sack Ware had is not on Oher. How can you block someone stunting if you have a 340 lbs Bobbie Williams blocking your way?

i'm crapping my pants at their whole team! just makes me feel better though that jets of all teams played a pretty decent game against them. We are way better than the jets so we should have a shot.

he actually played pretty well against Kansas City too, he just got beat twice on coverage sacks, one of which Flacco rolled out and Oher had no idea.

Oher was better today, but the line as a whole was worse than it looked. Williams in particular got beat a few times, which is to be expected I suppose. There was more pressure on Flacco than I would like to see, but overall the line did almost neutralize Dallas' only pass rusher, who happens to be one of the best in the league. But don't forget that, he is their only pass rusher.

What about Ratliff? And don't forget, some of that pressure was not on the line. I'm looking at you, RR.

Ratliff is not a Ngata. His impact is negligible, and I believe they said it was his first game back from injury as well.

It was heartening to see that the only sack that the Cowboys got came on a stunt play that used Williams to block Oher. Too bad about Harewood, though. He seemed to be doing fairly well.

i would've bet my money against him before the game but he certainly helped us today. The whole line was pretty good today even though we didn't get much of a run game.

Honestly Oher has really impressed me this season. After the last few years I thought he wasn't capable of playing left tackle, but I really do believe he will grow into our left tackle of the future.
ehhh, Green bay doesn't have that great of a O-line as well and they practically took him out of the game. The two sacks honestly didn't matter because Green bay would either just convert the 3rd down or kick the field goal. If Joe is getting hot against them, we can really take away his effectiveness.

Watt will be mainly against Yanda,I think we can handle him. He'll probably have a sack or two,but he won't own us

A big part of the Texans pass rush is the confussion of the 3-4. Wade does a great job of creating matchups that favor the front 7, much like the Steelers.

What the Ravens have to do is, much like we've started doing against the Steelers and the Packers did last night is, force them to stay in their Nickle package. That takes a LB out of the front 7, which is their strenght, and addds a Safety. That basically puts ups in a 5-6(RB chip) on 4 pass rushers.

Oher just be just fine in this game, as long as the offense can stay ahead of the chains and not become predictable
Amen on that. Even on the lone sack that Ware got, it wasn't Oher's fault at all.... Flacco held the ball too long and Ware took a circuitous route around Williams for that sack after getting soundly blocked by Oher on the flank!

I was impressed in that I didn't notice him making any blatant errors. He was a consistently good force throughout the game. Didn't really pay attention to Bobbie Williams' play though, any thoughts?

We were spoiled with JO for so many years. Oher is good but not elite. Take a look around the league right now and tell me how many elite LTs there are. I can't really think of any. Even guys like Joe Thomas aren't in same league as Jonathan Ogden.

What was up with Billick talking about how quiet Ware was and instantaneously, Ware gets a sack? If Billick would have continued talking about Ware's ineffectiveness, would Ware have continued to rack up the sacks?!

lol...it works both ways. I mumbled to myself "we could use a good return here"...and Jacoby Jones took it to the house!

Oher did a good job and I hope it continues. I think he'll be facing J.J. Watt(?) against Houston.

I really believe that Oher needs his first false start penalty.

I really believe Oher needs his first false start penalty. Its usually sometimes after that he adjusts his backup speed and settles down.
