2012 Injury Bug

I just thought it'd be easier to post anything concerning Ravens injuries all into one thread instead of each injured player having an individual thread ( i.e Suggs, Webb) Plus it'll make it easier to follow who's gonna be gone for awhile or whos coming back.

This week there were some major injuries with Ngata (MCL Spain allegedly), Webb (ACL feared [size=1]([/size][size=1]please no)[size=4], and Lewis (Triceps allegedly). [/size][/size]

Suggs is also supposed to be coming off the PUP next week and might rejoin the team for when they play Houston.

All injuries on defense, too, yikes

Still mad we didnt draft Burfict with our 7th. I'm just hoping for no major injuries on offense cause we know who has to carry this team now.

Is Jimmy getting hurt the reason Chykie came on the field?

Yea this is shaping up to be the Packers of 2010. I think they had like 15 players on the IR that year and about 7-9 were key players. They still went on to win the Superbowl.

He was likely already playing snaps before that, as Webb went down earlier.

No, but his PI call was horrible, Brown actually filled in well today. I still think our secondary is one of the best bc of the CB depth. But Unleash Asa Jackson .

you could be right, but I remember Corey Graham getting all the nickle down snaps in place of Webb, Brown didn't enter the game until the next to last drive. I think

He didn't screw up on Dez, that was Cary and Reed. Lewis did decent, and will find some way to come back. Ngata was still in at the end. Webb out hurts, but if it is only a sprain then he plays next week and we are fine.

True. That could have been when Jimmy went down. I loved the depth at CB coming into the season. We'll really see how good they are now.

I started an Injury Report thread during preseason. Might be wise to merge that one with this one.

It's bad news all the way around though. I don't know how much more of this our D can handle.

it was already bad enough that our defense sucked but to add injuries on top of that wow.... seems like years since we've had a good defense now.

I still can't see how Webb would tear anything there, it was a collison impact injury from what I saw. Can you tear a ligament like that?

[/quote]yea but he probably went over on it. Webb didnt go over on his knee, he didnt twist it, it hit Bryants knee and he dropped. They collided, I was assuming it would just be a bruise, swollen maybe.

[/quote]Reports from multiple sources say its an ACL. I get it that you want to be in denial (I do too) but we gotta accept the news that has been coming in. Webb's injury does not look good AT ALL.

Multiple sources are also reporting a sprain. We won't know until an MRI is performed, which will likely be tomorrow.

LOL no, ONE source said a sprain and that was on the actual broadcast. Multiple sources are saying it's not good, and it's def. an ACL thing.

Both Fox Sports and ESPN are reporting a sprain, as far as I know, only The Baltimore Sun is reporting an ACL tear.

[/quote]It's extremely complicated to explain on here but a blow can easily cause a tear if the blow comes in on the knee at the right angle. The ligaments aren't able to withstand the type of blows football players sustain which is why ACL tears are so common.

The fact is nobody knows. Webb himself doesn't even know. We will find out when an MRI is performed.

[/quote]im not explaining what I seen very well here, I'm ready for my bed lol. I know if you get a blow on he side of the knee and it bends kind of, that's the most common way. But what I say was the front of webbs knee hit of the side of dez' leg. Like a collision front on, I was expecting it too just be swollen at worst, maybe I didn't see it correct, or there potential tear happened after the impact I thought I saw.

Will need to watch it again

Being reported that Ngata has a MCL sprain. If the diagnosis is correct he could miss between 2-4 games. Foster and Tate may combine for over 300 yards on the ground next week if he is not out there.
