Webb Update: Out For Season with ACL Tear

122 posts in this topic

huh? thought it was a sprain.

yeah..you can tears your ACL with a hit and it's hard to tear a repaired ACL cause they replace it with something stronger than your body naturally has. it has to be the other one if it is torn.

lardarius is def a lockdown and would have been seen as the top corner this season...

Sad if it really is a tear and he's out for the year - he was our biggest playmaker
Yeah that would make him and Revis, the arguably the top 2 corners in the AFC out for the season if Webb indeed has a ACL tear.

It is on the opposite leg of his repaired ACL. Whatever injury he has.

This is probably the worst injury the D could endure at this point. Needless to say, the other CBs to step up big time. And let's pray some semblance of a pass rush develops. The return of Suggs will help but I'm not going to rest too much on hope on the pass rush coming alive when he returns. There's no telling how he'll perform fresh off the injury.

It's starting to look like the Texans' injury issues last year .

This sounds terrible and all, but it looks like the enjoyment of Jeter's injury last night came to be be quiet in retrospect

Giants won the Super Bowl with their best secondary players out. Patriots got to the Super Bowl with a bad secondary. This sucks but it isn't the end of the world.

I hope its just a sprain. I was worried when it happened it could be an ACL. Webby has become a shutdown corner and will be tough to replace. Jimmy Smith Next man up, Lets go. Prayers are with Webb right now.

I agree. This is not the end of the world, but the Ravens don't have the passrush like the Giants or the offense and coaching like the Pats

An absolutely devastating loss. I figured it had to have been more than a sprain, given that he couldn't put any weight on it. We do have some depth at CB. Chykie Brown didn't fare too bad, outside of that tough PI call. And Corey Graham could turn out to be a solid Nickle/Dime CB. Only time will tell. Just trying to put a positive spin on a very tough situation.

2 years now... really sad. just when our defense takes a step back, they get even worse. Suggs return don't mean crap now. Webb is the most devestating loss we can have on our defense. His absence showed bigtime. Be ready for teams putting up loads of points now.

Someone get Gorrer on the phone.
Well in that case we would have to get the Seahawks on the phone, to try to work out a trade. Because he signed there. lol

Man this sucks if its a torn ACL. Young guys are really gonna have to step up. Chykie looked really good so thats good. I'd like to see what Asa has as well.

Did Webb injure the same leg he tore his ACL on before? It sucks he got injured after picking up that huge contract, he's going to kill this team's success because of that cap hit if he doesn't come back healthy.

CONFIRMED:
It is NOT the same leg.

Nothing else is comfinrmed. he has not even had an MRI to confirm any thing. Webb knows about as much as we do.
We will find out for sure tomorrow.

Either way its pretty bad.

As many of you know me and my family are huge Webb fans. Family of three has four Webb jerseys. Three Webb signed footballs and an 8X10. We are all pretty upset here.

They also stopped Brady. I'll take it.
