Flacco's worrying me... He needs to just zip it sometimes. I guarentee this wasn't intentional, but he beeds to think about things before he says anything. Don't read the comments btw, terrible.

Sad that this is the headline rather than Joe's meaning behind it...
Yep. The media twist's words into what will sell. Pathetic.

I see the humor. And we all know he didn't meen it literally.
Ray is a pretty scary.
Edit: He should've said: "If you told Ray he was done, he'd kick your ***!"
It's more true, and the media couldn't twist it.

That being said...I like Flacco more when he doesn't speak.

He should stick to calling himself the best QB in the league.

The media making something out of nothing, as usual.
They let Roethlisberger (who actually commited a crime) slide, and Ray Lewis (who was just at the scene, and if anything a witness of the crime. He did give a misleading statement, but did not kill the man. Ray is a good man, slow news day.

Flacco clearly ment "Don't make Ray angry. You wouldn't like him, when he's angry." Way to go for the obvious and dumb article there ProFootballTalk. I would have expected a cheapshot like this from a fanatic Steelers fan, not an actual site owned by NBC.

Yeah, just stick to what you do best and never change your tune. Like ratedr bashing Flacco. Again and again and again. ;)
PFT pretends to be a respectable news source when they're basically the sports version of TMZ. The fact that this was even published is in seriously bad taste. What Flacco meant was pretty obvious.

Oh my Lord. Why is this a topic, sliceanddic3? OBVIOUSLY, you know what Joe meant. Why even bring it up? It's stupid.

the media is starting to realize that joe will not give political answers anymore so they can ask whatever they want and they know he will say something he will regret every time. this is not the first time we've seen this happen with him.

I'm fine with this one. This is not at all along the same lines as the "I'm the best" debate or any of the others, especially since he's talking about a teammate, not himself. Hopefully (and probably), Ray really is motivated this week.

If this was 20yrs ago when I as an immigrant first stepped onto the American soil, with that statement I would think Ray was going to kill someone cuz that's how I would translate english straight up from my native language.

Do they need to go back to ENG101? or back to immigrant camp?

I think we regret it more than Joe. Joe doesn't care.

Exactly. A hook for a headline to reel you in only to find there's no real story...works every time.

I could really care less about what our guys say in public as long as it doesn't get them jail time and reflect badly on the team. As for Flacco saying he's the best, what do you want him to say when asked how good he is? "I'm a terrible QB. I think we're gonna lose a lot"? People are just looking for more reasons to hate on Joe. Let em. Look at Michael Vick. He's all talk. In the pre-game before us, he said he wasn't gonna come out every game and turn it over like he did in week one against the Browns. That's all he has done. I'd rather have a guy with bad publicity than an overpaid guy who turns it over constantly and has no hope of ever winning a Super Bowl

So Joe who obviously wasn't thinking about Ray's past is now being criticized for using an expression that would have been a non story if it had been said it about anyone else? Wouldn't it be worse if he intentionally avoided this expression because Ray's past was on his mind?

More important question, who actually reads this stuff? If most people saw the quote, they'd know what Joe meant. Half the fans today don't even know what happened over a decade ago - and it's not like it's going to affect how these guys play. That's why there's never any drama around this team - everyone in the organization, from the players to the coaches to the front office, makes sure not to let anything turn into a drama, whether it be contracts, media reports, whatever. Do I think that sometimes Joe, Ed, ect., say more than they should, absolutely. Has it yet affected how this team performs, no, and in the end that's all that matters.
