O's signed Jair Jurrjens! I love this move. 2 years ago he pitched great and there were alot of people (including me) who wanted the O's to trade Jones for him. (There were rumors the Orioles were discussing it).

Last season he was hurt and didn't pitch good at all. He's still under contract for 2 years and he's only 26. I think it's a great gamble. If he could return to his old form then this is a steal!

It's gonna be a very interesting spring training regarding our starting pitchers..
- Hammel
- Gonzalez
- Tillman
- Chen
- Jurrjens
- Arrieta
- Britton
- S. Johnson
- Matusz?
- Wada

....I think the 5 at opening day will be Chen, Tillman, Gonzo, Hammel and Britton/Jurrjens.

Low risk/high reward. Could mean Saunders won't resign.

That crap before about a possible trade for Jurrjens parting with Adam Jones... remember that? Lol. Now, we have them both..

The Yankees are steadily declining, thus furthering the Orioles' chance of division supremacy. The Yanks have to pay Rodriguez $114,000,000 over the next 4 years, financially crippling them and giving them virtually no return on their money.

They are the mother freaking yankees. This hurts them, but they'll be fine, unfortuantly.

I don't know about you but I LOVE their current misery. O's have a better all around team next year and I truely believe that.

I'm pretty spoiled as a Yankees fan, so I'm not going to cry and pout after all the player losses/Rodriguez's Bridge to Nowhere contract.

The Orioles could well be the best team in the division, at this point! Either them or the Rays.
Everybodys saying Blue Jays because of the moves they have made. I don't know, they could be the team to beat but I got to see it first.

I don't know if Dickey will be enough to turn around TOR's dreadful pitching.

Yep, Yankees fan through thick and thin! The Boogie Down Bronx knows how to bring the noise.

*Gassssspppp*

What does it feel like knowing the team you root for has the most hated fan base in all of sports? lol.

So your a Ravens,Yankees & Knicks fan? I'm assuming your from NY. Jw why don't you root for Giants or Jets, or what led you to become Ravens fan? OK, you don't have to explain Jets to me, that's clear haha.

There are plenty of franchises more despised (cough, cough, Cowboys, Patriots, Heat, Penguins!) The Yankees have over double the championships of all of those franchises combined, I might add. From the end of WWII to the escalation of the Vietnam War, the Yankees won 15 World Series! Only the West Indian cricket team has had a better win ratio over a similar period of time.

I root for the Ravens because I refuse to support the New Jersey Giants and the New Jersey Jets. The Giants haven't been based in New York since 1972; the Jets haven't played in NY since 1984. Most Giants/Jets fans have never ever seen the Giants play in Yankee Stadium or the Jets play in Shea Stadium.

No. Trust me. The Yankees are the most hated franchise in all of sports lol. They're also probably the most loved in Baseball, they have fans everywhere. (which contributes to the hate). Jealousy also contributes to it. Only because of the payroll though.

They are. By a mile. You can't go 5 minutes without walking past someone donning a Yankee cap! :D

Anyway, do you agree with my Jersey Giants/Jets point?

Yeah I agree with the Jets. But how havent the Giants been based since in NY since 72? I feel like unless your old enough to remember that it shouldn't matter. How'd you feel when it was the Ravens vs Giants in superbowl 35? Also to keep this related to Orioles, how'd you feel when we were doing good? Are the O's like your secondary team because of the Ravens?

The Giants were last based in New York, at the old Yankees Stadium, in 1972. They they made arrangements to move to Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey and haven't looked back since. Fun fact: in 1973, the Giants played some of their home games at the Yale Bowl! Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that it makes no sense that the Giants and Jets still "represent" the state of New York. It's an insult to East Rutherford and the entire state of New Jersey. It's bad enough that we lost the Statue of Liberty, then the Nets... now we don't receive recognition for our 2 football teams?! The New York Red Bulls play in New Jersey too, btw.

Pitchers and catchers report on Tuesday; full squad comes in on Thursday. Wow! Seems like football just ended. :-)

I'm just hoping the Os can give us as much enjoyment as last year. What a FUN season that was.

Did the Blue Jays stack up for a run this season or what? They worry me. I still can't believe Miami fire saled everyone and Toronto was the first one to the register. I just hope our pitching is as good as I think it is.
They got a lot of talent but you have to remember the Marlins were still absolutely terrible with said talent.
