Pees haters are right. His defensive schemes are horrible. Pathetic against the run. i can't believe this thread is active after the Kansas city game.
Pray tell, what would you change about the schemes to help stop the run?

I want any Pees hater to tell me how the scheme could be changed to help stop the run.

Like I've been saying. His schemes are just not good.
Pees is terrible, when Belicheck fires you (despite the sugar coating he was fired) you suck at your job. Take a look at what all the Pats fans were saying about him when he was there. Virtually what you can read here.........He's lousy.

When the Browns were playing the Ravens during pregame they were talking about all the defensive coodinators that this defense got head coaching gigs and Deion says "they won't get this one a job". Sanders knows exactly what's up.

I think we all have to assume that this is a down year for our defense.

Time to rebuild it with the upcoming draft and more time with Pees "I don't know" Defense.

Here's a tip for the Texans on how to beat us. Keep the Ravens offense off the field! Yeah, that's the unit you should be scared of. Joe & Co.. Have fun watching Foster mangle and embarrass our defense.

This defense seems to be getting worse as the season goes along...
Well, think what this defense can do without Ngata or Webb. Chilling, isn't it?

Ngata returned to the game though. Webb did not. I'm concerned about Ray being out though.
Agreed.

Thank god for the offense. We'd be looking at 4-12.

Everyone keeps bashing on Ray, but outside of Ngata's rare bursts and Upshaw's pursuit on the backsides, there's nobody doing anything in the front 7. They all stick on blocks, nobody sheds, and nobody keeps blocks off Ray. Ray has to slip a block just to make a tackle, it's ridiculous. Either shed blocks and make plays, or anchor on the spot and let Ray make tackles. You can't just stand there stuck on a block and let them push you back.

Ray had 14 tackles and it seems like he's playing against the opposing teams Oline and our own Dline.

We will probably win the AFC North. Not because we're great, but because the AFCN is incredibly weak this season. Unless Suggs return provides some sort of defensive spark of energy, I am not betting on us getting to the SB.
For years a great D was carrying an average O. Now our O is great, but we are lightyears away from being average at D.

Flacco played mistake free and Romo threw an INT and we still didn't win easily? Oh. MY. GAWD.

I've tried defending him over the last few weeks, but after today's game I can't anymore. Suggs is out, but that's no excuse for our run defense being as poor as it is. Our run defense is giving up almost 120 yards a game, and the last time we were even over 100 was 2004. Greg Mattison had us around 93 yards a game his 2 years here, and we were calling that run defense poor by Ravens standards. Something has to change. I don't understand it, because he did very well in New England with a roster that I definitely feel is less talented than our roster is now.

He wasn't designing schemes. Everyone knows Belichick designs the defenses in New England.

It may not be entirely Pees fault, but even with our losses I just don't see us being this bad if we still had Pagano. Our D is setting new Ravens records for giving up yards. We may have the worst run Defense in the league, which includes the Saints. And this is a year after we had one of the best D's in the league.

To be fair, we might've been fine for a few games, but Pagano isn't coaching right now either.

I think you guys r giving pees credit he doesn't deserve. They just gave up 200 yards rushing in 2 games this season back to back. If your going to give up your yards running then atleast be good against the pass. Our pass d was good last season. What is the excuse for why we hive up so much more this year? We have the same players. Pees blitzes make no sense sometimes. I wonder one day will have actually fake blitzing everyone and drop more players in short route coverage. He'll bryAnt torched them on short balls. Sometimes even on obvious pass plays. Pees is getting outsmarted. If your not the best up front then Atleast stay good in the secondary. All I ever see is man to man and put yourself out in man to man against great receivers. See how well you fair. He needs to move a safety up and stop run blitzing and just stack the box more in obvious run situations. Shoot the run gaps on occasions. Not do it on every run play. When those gap shooters get block we give up huge gains. Fake more pass blitzes and blitz just 1 guy more. Not everyone. You can put a pass defender underneath for some of those short passes. Maybe you make the an think twice about where to throw. We bailed romo out. He always knew on blitz we had no help on his receivers. This is the NFL it can't look that easy for any team. In my mind the cowboys won that game. We surely won't win like that often. And iyanbidajo or what he spelling is, he is a sure liability on defense. Centainly shouldn't be on hands team not on the field on defense. Keep that guy on special teams. His missed tackles I'm sure out count his made tackles. Plus he is always out of position. Just keep him on kickoffs and punts please. Pees is getting out-coached with no doubt. Suggs return won't help this d. This d needs a coordinator that knows how to call a game. Knows when to be aggressive...and how to be aggressive. How..how...how!!! And that is not bring all your team to get a sack or stop a run. Against he chiefs pees made adjustments to stop the chiefs run attack. That just means there was a solution the whole time. So please pees if you see this fake a blitz here and there...confuse the qb...and more your front 7 up and a safety to slow the run game (u can't stop it right now). Blitz 1 guy not 3 every time and maybe 2 sometimes. Protect the passing lanes with drop back coverage. No more easy quick throws all day or we will lose against cowboy like teams going forward. Good game offense, our teams new idenity.

i said from the start that getting rid of jj and redding was a mistake; i get all that getting younger, financially much better... but cory was cheap... and pees is mellow so now we got trouble brewing... and no more safety blitzes with webby out... pees needs to do something or go

Pagano is a dirtbag short sighted fool. He should have stayed a few more years and got experince. Instead he is going to be a HC for 2-3 years, get fired beacuse he doesnt know what hes doing and end up like Jim Zorn. He was not some amazing DC, he just fit very well with our defense. We should have paid him big to stay. In a few years when hes the dc for a team like tampa or rams, he is going to wish he was still with a winning team.

Whether the talent Pees was working with now is better than what he has is now debatable. What we do is know is this D has lost a ton of key players and the guys aren't performing now. The d-line is struggling in all facets of the game, the LBs struggle to shed blocks and often look lost in coverage and the DBs are inconsistent. That goes beyond coaching

Pees is conservative, but he is a smart D cordinator. He led the pats to two SB (Brady imo is not a hall of famer without him). Heres why we are ranked so low

The D is unexperienced.
This year, we have nine players who have a year of starting experience on D.
Mcphee, Kruger, Upshaw, Albert, Art, and Kindle have never started ever. They will get better as the season goes on.

Suggs- the Magic Johnson of OLB's.
His very presence on the field allowed others to get sacks, when he comes back he wont be the same tho. He will be more of a JJ. Achillies injuries are not taken lightly.

Cary Williams piss poor play.
Everyone else in the secodary has been doing well. Cary goes one one one against their best IDK why. We need to put him at nickel and put Jimmy (who needs experience) against their best. Jimmy has been good so far.

We are a young D, two years we will be back on the top (once we draft Eric Reid, Teo, or William Gholston)
I'll admit I am quick to blame him, but I will say you were mostly spot on except you forgot to mention missed tackles. It's not just young guys. I also saw Reed and Ray missb tackles. Ray did redeem himself when he planted their one running back, but he was clearly wrong when he said this game wouldnt be a repeat of last week when it came to the run game.

No matter what Pees does he is going to blamed. I dont think its his fault the D has been so bad. He dialed up a lot of blitzes against Dal and still couldnt get enoufh pressure. The bottomline is the players are not getting it done on the field.
