We're Still Struggling on the Road

21 posts in this topic

On offense, we never really looked right from the beginning. Let's be fair, there's plenty of disparity between how we play at home and how we do on the road, especially on offense. We really won this game because the Chiefs made all sorts of mistakes.

I'm just glad we won.

It goes beyond simply being on the road, especially for the offense. The o-line often gets dominated, which grinds the entire offense to a halt.

Let's be fair, the defense was terrible too. Both units improved in the 2nd half, the D moreso than the O.

I think it's more a coincidence that we play our road games against teams who use physical corners and at least 1 pass rusher. We have no gameplan to counter that apparently even though we worked on it in practice.

We didn't have 1 sack today? Correct? Yikes

It's hard getting a sack when 90% of the plays are runs.. I remember Upshaw getting pressure on the rollout, McPhee and Kruger hitting Casell.. oh and Ngata killing Cassel

Dropped passes will kill you.

Funny thing about this game is that it reminded me just of the Jaguars game from last year but this time we won lol

Ok, bc you people burried my thread I will do my thing here.
The Good.
Well........ This may have been the worst game we have ever won, the only good thing was the run D in the second half.
Ray Rice had a good game.
Our secondary (outside Williams, the defenseive liabillity)

The Bad
Well, the O-Line, Flacco only did one bad thing and that was the int. The O-Line had a hard time (mainly Osemele) against two stud pass rushers.
The Run D. Over 100 yards in the first half unacceptable.

Thats about it, move Osemele to guard when Reid comes back and were set.

Thats true, but still. Atleast one on the atleast 15 or so times they threw it would of been nice.

If Boldin hadn't hurt his leg he would have probably put the team on his back again
[/quote]

did he come back in the game?

Ashame Q didnt he make that catch on the 1 and the bomb down the side line. All and all, he was Joe's safety blanket for a stretch there..

This game was so much like the Jax game. But we know this is a different team, because we actually won this game.

On to Dallas.

Your right, but we won this time on a team that we were supposed to beat so atleast we moved in the right direction.
I will say this, The CHIEFS are a better team than what everyone thinks, their Defense is a beast. Either that or our O line is just Jacked up. Thinking its a bit of both really. :)
