Full Baltimore Ravens Free Agent List

14 posts in this topic

Hey Guys, I know we were talking about the whole re signing thing, and if we are going to keep Sizzle, Ray Ray and Scott. But I found a web site that shows the full free agent list for the Baltimore Ravens. Its actually a quite interesting list. Also they had a page where you could see the full Free Agent list by position and by team, and I will include the site so you guys can take a look at it. I'll let you guys look at the Free Agent list, and here is the full list of Ravens players who will be free Agents if they don't re sign or they get released. I put next to it whether or not we should keep them or not(my opinion only)

Baltimore Ravens Free Agents List:
Kyle Boller(QB)- Release
P. J Daniels(RB)-Release
Demetrious Williams(WR)
Quinn Sypniewski(TE)
Daniel Wilcox(TE)-Release
Matt Stover(K)-Keep him or he'll go in Retirement
Sam Koch(P)- MAJOR KEEP! He is having a good year
Dwan Edwards(DL)-Keep for Depth purposes
Ray Lewis(LB)- This is a keeper, plus I think the rumor of him signing a 5 year deal is coming true
Bart Scott(LB)- Keep. I say Keep him for another 3-4 years.
Corey Ivy(CB)-Release
Derrick Martin(CB)-Release
David Pittman(CB)-Keep, for Depth purposes, plus I'm sure we'll draft a corner this year
Dawan Landry(SS)-Keep, he has been great addition to our defense.

Thoughts? Don't make this an arugument, just post your opinions on this list with out arguing. Thank you. http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/fr...Team&y=2009

I thought we released Dan Cody...anyone remember?
Keep Kyle Boller, trade Troy Smith. As valuable troy smith is, he just needs a chance to start, wherever that may be. Boller also is a very good backup.
Release PJ. Too injury prone.
Demetrius, no question keep.
same for Quinn. he's an awesome blocking TE.
I say keep Daniel Wilcox, considering how thin we were last season.
We should keep Ivy and Martin. Ivy is an explosive player and a versatile special teamer. Derrick Martin is a solid Corner and is waay better than David Pittman, who was just a simple bust.
Everything else, agree.

Thanks for the updates. I went in and took Dan Cody off the list. I can't believe already someone said to trade Troy Smith. That's interesting, I was thinking we could release Boller and keep Smith so we could run that 2 QB play every once in a while in the future as well, just not this year, I mean for years to come. But than again, I see where your going with that, Trade Smith, and grab extra draft picks. Which wouldn't be too bad, though we really don't have too many needs this year except for the two major obvious ones, WR and CB. Maybe add depth to the o-line and d-line. But hey keep the opinions coming.

Do NOT get rid of Troy Smith, he is a great back up and we can continue to do dynamic things with him as a 2nd string. I actually do agree with Kyle Boller with a 3rd string, he is an ok QB for a 3rd string...

As for keeping Bart Scott, we can't keep him, Ray, and Suggs so I vote sign Suggs and Ray.

Let's see Yeah your right, they are all RFA. Yeah keeping them shouldn't cost us that much so we should be able to retain some of our FAs.

yeah, i just don't think the 2QB thing will work out too often. I mean how many offense's do you see with 2 QB's, ya know? communication would also be a bit of a problem.

We better not trade Troy Smith. Any good team should have a reliable backup. Id much rather have Troy than some old vet or 6th round rookie.

I remember reading that we'd already cut Pittman or maybe it was just we put him on IR.

The thing with Cory Ivy is that he's been great off the blitz and the nickelback situation, but he's 31 and I'd rather us hang onto a younger CB who could develop into something more than a nickelback, like a Derrick Martin type guy.

Thanks Man.. graet stuff!!
The players I would want to kkep are fat.
We should keep Kyle.. he's injured too much, but he will not ask for alot of money. He should be a good and cheap 3rd QB.
Ray - no question!! Without him our defense would fall apart.
D-Williams is also a great Wr.
Quinn Sypniewski stepped up last year, when Todd was injured.
We HAVE to keep Bart as well as Suggs and Landry!! These are the KEY-players in our outstanding D. It will not be easy, but they have to find a way to keep this defense together, even if it demands a trade of another good player like Heap or Troy.

Unfortunately we should release Matt Stover. He has done great things for this franchise. But he is too old. He is good from <30 yards, but when the distance is longer he has not made a FG.
I'd re-sign cory Ivy , he's still a reliable depth guy. but not pittman or Boller.
Ivy will be 32 next season and has about reached his potential as a nickel guy.

Keep David Pittman? Where have you been? He was placed on IR then released. He hasn't been a Raven since the beginning of the season. I can't believe how many people are saying the Ravens should keep him. He was released and never even picked up by another team - the guy is no longer an NFL player.
