Brees is a great player but his 'squeaky-clean' image is beyond annoying. All the whining he did in the offseason about [i]EVERYTHING[/i] was also annoying.

EDIT - also, don't get me started on his pre-game routines. They are so cheesy, forced, and terrible that I cringe every time I see/hear it. Cheesy is a good word to describe Brees.

This is true, but it is also the nature of the game. Can't blame Brees for treating himself like a business. Brees is just one of the MANY reasons why the Saints are losing. But if they had Payton and his creative gameplanning, and no offseason distractions with bounty gate, I'm sure they' be positng wins and this is a non-topic.

I also feel like the columnist just wanted to pat himself on the back because he probably said this a lot during the offseason.

I thought by selfish he was gonna talk about Brees disregarding the run game and throwing it almost 50 times a game. Throwing only 58% doesn't help either.

Brees and the offense struggled when Payton was out with his leg too. He is a good coach.

That was my original thought as well. Or how Brees is chasing 'records' rather than wins.

Its looks that way. He is a good game planner and designing plays that fit his team. He was known to pull a rabbit out of a hat once a while as well.

I used to think Drew Brees was a class act because of the way the media covers him, and obviously I don't know Saints players the way I know our guys. After his whining during the lockout and after this season, it's plan to see the guy is completely fake. I don't like him.
