Ive read the zombie survival guide by Max Brooks about 27 times. The girl with the katana is good. That is one of the best handhelf weapons. But lets be realistic. The best weapon you can have is a crowbar. Its light way and can open some locked doors. The only thing i dont agree about this group is the use of a motorcycle. Sound attracts zombies

True it does attract noise, but it's also very maneuverable. Gave Daryl a better chance of scouting ahead. Guns don't help either, but they seem pretty good at clearing in hand to hand combat. Machetes, knives and crowbars

Watched the season premiere tonight and it was very good!

Wish we would've seen more of the ninja though

Anyone read any of the comics? I am half ways through book 2 (I got a hardback graphic novel) and it's a lot different than the show.

Carl and Lori aren't that bad....no way I could say they are the worst characters on the show or in TV history. Gaius Baltar is 20x worse!

Shane was creepy as hell and I couldnt wait for him to die. I hope Dixon doesn't get killed off, he is like the Sawyer of this show.

The only thing that bugs me about the show is lack of logic and urgency.

"Looks like we gotta clear this house, Carl, you go by yourself and clear the left wing the rest of the adults can wait outside."

Also a huge crossbow isn't exactly the most efficient weapon at close quarters, and why did Rick cut Herschel's leg off?

You just have to understand it's still Hollywood and a TV show. Sometimes all the just logic isn't there.

Rick cut Herschel's leg off to prevent the zombie contamination (virus or whatever) from spreading throughout the body and infecting him. IMO quick, decisive and smart thinking on Rick. However the wound needs to be cauterized and soon.

However, I would've impaled (through the head) any dead body lying around. Take no chances. But it's a show lol

The problem with that is everyone is already infected, if you're talking about a bacterial infection, fever, death etc he is still going to need antibiotics either way, a bite sized wound can be cleaned and cauterized with a hot iron, now he's got a much larger wound.
