All the thanks to Caldwell and Joe but none for Cam?! So when something goes wrong it's Cam we blame and when something goes good, it's Jim and Joe? Gotcha
Cam will once again get in the way at some point. Really though this thread isn't to knock Cam. Cam could be responsible for his growth as well but he didn't look this sharp last year with Cam as qb coach. You could see he was going in this direction but sorry if I still don't fully trust Cam. And do t think I don't blame Joe for stupid decisions. I'm no Flacco apologist. By my count he should've thrown about 7-8 more picks than he has and needs to clear some stuff up but I see him getting better as the season goes on and the same with Cam. I think the play calling is freed up cause he has people he trusts and that can run his scheme. At the same time Cam needs to realize Joe won't always have the time to throw deep and should know when to switch to shorter routes like he did in the 2nd half of the Browns game.

Gave you a neg by accident sorry about that.Cam deserves very little. He still gets stuck in his ruts and those damn end arounds are still called and stop for little to no yardage. He still needs to go. Much praise to Jim Caldwell because he's working closely with Joe and it's paid off nicely.
Jim Caldwell for OC!

Just pointing this out - every year Joe has had a QB coach he's improved. His one inconsistent year was the only year he didn't have a QB coach.
And the best game he has ever played in the post season was with out a QB coach.

Side note, is it just me or has the tempo slowed tremendously with the no-huddle since after the Bengals game? I feel like in that game we were snapping the ball with 18-20 seconds left on the play clock a lot of the time, and now it seems as if even in the up-tempo offense we're not getting the snap off until about 10 seconds left. Maybe thats just perception - does anyone have stats on this?

I think really pressing the issue with the up-tempo offense is a product of Caldwell joining us and having so much success with it in the past with Manning.

I do see it but remember 4 games in 18 days. That's a lot to ask of men. It's not like going to the gym 4 times in 18 days. It's more like fighting, physically fighting for your life,4 times in 18 days.
Maybe our guys have been tired?
I think everyone deserves praises. Gripe? I don't like abandoning the run. I hate seeing Pierce having the hot hand and then we get rice back on there for 2 yard gains.

Very good point. Hopefully then with the 10 days rest we get back to the pace we had early on. I dont think it can be overstated how effective keeping the defensive personnel on the field was in the bengals game. Definitely very difficult to keep that pace up with the schedule we had, but i want to see us get back to it

You mean the Patriots game last year? I actually think Joe's best game was at Arrowhead in 2010-2011. Only time he ever cracked a 100 quarterback rating, completed almost 3/4 of his passes, and that was a KC team that finished either in the top 10 or just outside of the top 10 in both offensive and defensive PPG. And I thought it was a complete performance start to finish.

Fatigue as definitely been playing a role in our performance. To elaborate on your point about going to the gym, NFL teams run strength and conditioning programs during the season. When they aren't in practice (which is also physically demanding) they are lifting, running, or stretching. The body of an NFL player goes through a whole bunch of punishment in a season. They practice, lift, condition, and play games. That's a lot of stress on the body.
