The Car Thread

While in Vegas I got to drive a Lamborghini Gallardo around a race track.  I was able to hit 110 mph on the straight (there were lots of turns).  Best way to describe it was awesome.  If you are ever in Vegas, check out the racing experiences like this, they are totally worth it.

I totally read about that a few months ago, and I'd totally do that if I went to Vegas.

Final pics.  Went to pick up my 2014 Mercedes Benz S550 this morning and found this red bow on top of it at the dealership waiting on me!  lol!  Check out my Ravens gear and my gorgeous wife getting in the car after we had lunch.  Peace....

Getting very anxious!

Here's my baby girl in my buddy's driveway getting prepped for pre-op:

16ih0cm.jpg

Going to be a very rare car, one of the few 2+2 N/A 300zx that have undergone the twin turbo conversion!!

Not going TOO crazy just yet with turbos and whatnot. The stock turbos and motor are being swapped in, and will be that way for a little bit until the rest of the drivetrain has been fortified for some real boost.

A 5 speed 2+2 TT! WOOT

I know you love the car... But 2+2 turbos aren't that rare! I've had my hand in 2 of them and also he superior swap, LSx power. Carry on.

: P

Car looks good though .

Just bought this Black on Black 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550 "executive package" for myself to go along with my wife's E350. Still got my Navigator and Cadillac in the drive way to jump in from time to time!

190e was towed to the shop around the corner. FINALLY making the moves to get her out of the garage (after 4 years) and back to my in-laws who are moving back from Japan next month.

All the money in the world and they continue to love this 1993 190e.

Not every person publishes builds on the interwebs (nico) . The Erf is actually bigger place that the net would let you believe. Worked on my first one in 2002.

It's a car thread with many other cats posting picks of their cars and trucks in here....but I'm the "showoff" brah?  Don't be a H8R!  :D  Naw seriously though thanks man!  But let me go a step further.  Peep, my "executive package" with my 2 rear monitors on the seats and the window screens and the tray tables in the back.  The right side rear seat reclines with a foot rest. There is a cooler and heater in the console to keep drinks cold or warm and the DVD player in the back seat arm rest.  Way too many awesome features on this ride to mention.  My S550 replaced the Mercedes-Benz Maybach.  Crazy wheels!

Now, do I leave as is or slap on some 24s and black her out like I did my 4 door Wrangler?

Please, no.  Why do people still do this?

It was cool in the early 2000's.

But now it needs to go the wayside along with excessive negative camber.  lol

I can not wait to get a new car myself, at this point my Cobalt is a death trap waiting to happen lol. Stupid recall which the dealership still hasn't even got the part in to fix it. After all the cars GM has been recalling, I'm moving on from GM, and I have always been a Chevy guy. Been looking at a Toyota or a Ford. Leaning toward the Corolla over the Fusion, but I do know I do not want anymore GM cars lol.

Anyone else drive a Cobalt or any of the other GM recalled vehicles and still waiting for their parts to come in?

I dumped my Cobalt as soon as all those reports and recalls came to light.

Hmmmm...someone just asked if I want to trade my wifes car (BMW X5 that is for sale) for an M3. How do I spin this to her to make sense?

It was a miserable rainy Saturday in OC for the Endless Summer Car Cruise weekend. However, they did not disappoint today......they tore up the asphalt on Coastal Highway! I can't wait until that third weekend in May to go down and do it again. I guess it is time to put the fuel stabilizer in my Nova for its long winter nap.

I can't drive a muscle car anymore. You know married, kids,  grandchildren and seeking vested retirement.  Once had a 67 Cutlass, 64 Dynamic 88, 73 Nova.

I caved in a bought a used 01 Subaru (now in my neighbors' possession including all Ravens details)

 > Now I am plain vanilla drivin a 012 Honda Accord (but I did trip it out so there is no other like it) featuring purple running lights, LED light set by Rigid Industries, with interior round rocker switch placed strategically so as to illuminate outside the side door mirror frame at night. Door mouldings additional trim on doors, front bumper & trunk lid.  Interior dark wood dash kit and interior purple accent lighting.  Sorry I can't improve the engine or structure but at least I have an original car reflecting my Ravens (rear deck and license holders as well) .

Wish list.  Wish I had a 67 GTO in GM Maroon, two doors with Hurst shifter and a non working 8 track player.

What year is your Nova?   I had a 305  73 chocolate brown with white half vinyl top.  I wish I had money to buy all the cars I wanted after the 73 oil embargo. i would mop up 66 and 67 GTO's, 65 to 67 Vettes, 66 to 69 Mustangs and a few 68 Chevelles. If I had 50 large in those days I could sit nice with 500K or more now.

My ex daughter in law drives one.  She is narcisstic.  Serves her right to have that car.   I have an 012 Honda Accord.  It is great I paid 18,600 with certified status with 12,300 miles on it. Go for that.  Can't miss.  Number one for resale.

I have a 1971 Nova. It is a Lime Green (SS Clone) with a black vinyl top, Jade interior, with the Magnum 500 style Chevy Rally wheels. Pretty much everything has been replaced with new replica parts. It is set up for racing with adjustable coilovers in the front, frame connectors, Ford nine inch rear with .370 gears and Cal Tracs bars. I just dropped a new Blueprint engines 396 small block Chevy roller cam motor in it dynoed at 494 HP and 521 Torque, 350 Turbo Trans. I wish I could download photos. Mods have sent me instructions, but I am still too computer challenged to figure it out.

I thinking about pulling the Turbo 350 out of my Nova and putting in a 5 or 6 speed manual Tremec tranny. It would make my Nova the way I always wanted it to be, but this conversion is going to be crazy expensive. I have the money but I know that every dime I put into it now is money that I will never get back. Every cool muscle car I looked at in OC last weekend, the first thing I looked for is a clutch pedal. I am so torn on this, my heart says yes but my head is saying "keep your money in the bank." My tranny shifts so good with that B&M kit, I just purchased a new flexplate with the motor swap. I have a nice Hughes converter. I do hate turning 3000 RPM at 60 MPH with my .370 gears, so the overdirve would be nice.

There's the 6l60E auto the TR6060 manual or the T56manual Or you could go 4l80e , which is a TH400 with an overdrive. You could do a t56 swap for about 2000$ . I would t go 5 speed, not much price difference... And you could have that 1800-2k cruise on the hwy.

I am hearing good things about that T56, but the six speed trannys are so long and heavy, I think I am leaning 5 speed. I really like the Richmond Super Street but $4,000.00 is big paper. Chevy Performance also has a Tremec version but it is also just as expensive. Plus I would need to add a bellhousing, clutch, pressure plate and bearing, and swap out my flexplate with a flywheel. Since it is not originally a manual shift car, I will need to get a pedal assembly, take out the column shift, change the dash housing (because I will need one for a manual shift without the indicator) and cut a hole in the floor and redo the driveshaft. I think I am really more worried about all the work more than the money, but I think it would make me happy in the end.
