Congrats on the new ride.

Sold the Suburban and the Tacoma. Down to the wife's X5, my 545i, 4 door Wrangler and the old 190e. Back in the hunt for a newer Suburban/Yukon XL since baby 3 will be here in 4 months.

Thanks.  Yukon XL is a good idea.  My dad had one and there were 3 of us kids.

Like that color

Thanks.  Can't go wrong with a dark color IMO.  My old one was white and since I live on a dirt road right now, the car never looked good.

Dig that. Not the color combo, though.

Bought an old body style Escalade (to replace the Suburban and use as the family hauler to and from Florida, OBX, etc).

Now, do I leave as is or slap on some 24s and black her out like I did my 4 door Wrangler?

Just got a new car.  2014 Chevy Cruze (base model).  Not the picture of my car, but this shows it in the right color (tungsten metallic):

What size valves in the 195 heads? Surprised to know they have enough to make that power. That should make a responsive combo. also, solid roller or hydr? Race fuel or pump? Those dyno results rated at the crank or the wheels? I'm assuming at the crank.

Numbers to the crank, hydraulic .510 intake .520 exhaust, 2.02 1.60 valves 64cc, 10.4:1 (93 octane pump)

@1/28/01.........I have some images of the car I loaded to my computer from my digital camera, but to post a photo the website is calling for a URL number, but I have no idea what that is. What is a URL number and how do I get it from a picture I loaded from my camera to my computer to post a picture?

Thats a nice streetable build right there. The cam, on the surface isnt big but I bet its got somepretty good duration. Any idea on the LSA? Guessing 108?

I built a 421 SBC a few years back that was an animal, gotta love strokers!

I am not sure of the LSA on my cam. I know a guy that just built a 421 that he wanted to sell me but it was just a little too radial for me. I wanted something more streetable that I could run on pump high test. The only issue with the new engine is that the pinion snubber I have bolted onto the front of my 9 inch Ford rear really bangs against the rear floor when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd if you really get on it. I guess I am having some spring wrap so I want to put a pair of Slide-a-Lock traction bars on my X-body. I was looking at the instructions on Summit Racing and I think I am just going to let my chassis guy do that installation.

What was your 421 Stroker in? Did you have it dynoed?

I've always had good luck with cal-tracs. Sounds like the pinion angle needs dialed in. Do you have s-frame connectors on the car?

The 421 was a in c4 vette. : ) yea, I dyno'd it a few times ... 568rwhp @6600 510ftlbs @4500. This was a fuel injected motor with 227 heads. Let's just say it was fun, especially with independent rear suspenion and a ZF-6spd . Only way to do a proper 421 in a streetcar , IMO.. Is to use an aftermarket block. I had a Little M.

545i gone today.

Driveway/garage down to:

* Wifes X5

* My 4 door Wrangler

* Family Escalade ESV

* '93 190e in the garage on jack stands and drained.

It was a short love affair, but fun!

Me and a Carrera GT wile at Porsche school last month.

That's one of the few Porsches that doesn't look like crap.  I hate the stretched out Beetle look of the 911 and all their 'cheap' versions that aren't called that but totally are that.  And their SUV and 4 door car are true monstrosities.  That new hybrid hypercar is wicked sweet though, it kinda looks like the Carrera.  Although in the looks department I'd probably still side with the McLaren P1.

Why'd you ditch the BMW 1/28?

Why'd you ditch the BMW 1/28?

Bought it not even a year and half ago and I put less than 2k mikes on it. With 2 kids and another here soon, NEVER drive it and its a pain to either drive one night a week (if I remember) when the kids go down, throw on a trickle charger on it or let it drain and then jump. The latter causes all kinds of lights to go off and then I have to spend an hour resetting everything. Just ended up being a major PITA!

Once I get one side of my garage back (kids toys on one side and 190E on other), I may jump back into a Bimmer of some sort. Perhaps an M3 or M5 that I've always wanted.

M3's are pretty sweet.  You get a proper track car with the looks of an everyday business coupe, albeit a stylish one.  Same with the M5.  Out of my price range though, if I was in the market I'd be taking a long hard look at the Subaru BRZ.

Just bought this Black on Black 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550 "executive package" for myself to go along with my wife's E350.  Still got my Navigator and Cadillac in the drive way to jump in from time to time!

Got a scratched up Jeep Compass sitting in my driveway since someone thought it would be cool to hit me and not leave a note. I need to get that fixed.

While in Vegas I got to drive a Lamborghini Gallardo around a race track.  I was able to hit 110 mph on the straight (there were lots of turns).  Best way to describe it was awesome.  If you are ever in Vegas, check out the racing experiences like this, they are totally worth it.
