I think I found a hell of a steal for an 07 G37x. $10k fully loaded with everything. Extremely high miles though. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on maybe purchasing the car and just throwing a new engine in it. Cost? Headache? Bad Idea? you know, that kind of stuff.

Mileage is 127k

I was thinking of running it to 200k then swapping a low mileage engine

Does anyone know how to remove the vents on a 2003 Ford f150?

My car hystory:

1976 = 1964 Dart slant6 (yea, go ahead and laugh. It was a freebe first car)

1978 = 1973 Duster 340

1983 = 1970 Coronet w/ 440

1988 = 1976 Corvette

1994 = 1985 Corvette

1998 = 1969 Corvette ragtop

2010 (and current) = 2000 Benz CL600 V12

Also along the way I've had several choppers including a '62 Panhead, a '58 Harley trike (servi car), 4 Shovelheads and currently a '07 Street Glide. Everything, except the current '07 Harley and the Benz, were in marginal shape when I got them. Did most of the resto's and mods myself to bring them up to shape. Drove 'em around a couple years, sold and moved on to the next project. Lately, I've taken to resto jobbing some throw back speed boats: SideWinder 16, Excalibur 24 and now a Donzi 16 triple hatch currently in the works. What can I say, I gotta have something to tinker with at all times!

I would imagine the entire dash just pops off with clips and whatnot. Took the dash off of the Suburban for my kids TV/headrest and DVD install a few months back and it just popped off minus a few miscellaneous bolts here and there. I know that doesn't entirely answer your question, just have a look. It shouldn't be to difficult.

Yeah some rodent died in there. My dad and I couldn't get to it, there were so many bolts that we just said screw it, we have to get stuff for this storm.

But appartently it's clogging up the vent so when I put the defrosters on it doesn't work and all I get is a putrid smell. There are so many unnecessary bolts and screws in it that it's frustrating. He was trying to get to the blower motor because he thinks it has something to do with that. I know very little about cars and I could't find anything on google about disembling it.

Febreeze will work for now lol

Depending on the year, the more power part is certainly debatable :

4.56 gears? Check! Lockers? Check! Atlas 2? Ah crap!

my best advantage would probably be the weight actually : P

I have the VQ40 , 286 stock hp(crank hp). but I'm dyno tuned via UpRev to 274 whp. I've got a few horsepower goodies:

Doug Thorley LT's

Off-road 2.5" x pipe

High flo cats

Magnaflow bullet mufflers

Volant cold air

Intake manifold spacer( not tb spacer)

Ported VQ manifold

Jim Wolf Cams

I want to do an LS swap though once it's not my daily. Im still knocking down 18-19 mpg , full armor.

Very nice!

The Jeep has 159k on the clock, so a motor swap of some sort could/should/will be in the future plans.

I envy the Jeep aftermarket. : / you guys have it easy! Advanced adapters and painless wiring makes it cake. ( granted the cash is always the fun part)

Id love to SAS it but I do love the ground clearance I have with 35's IFS has just a few perks. lol.

Oh yeah, the Jeep aftermarket is huge. Always has been. Ive had Wranglers, CJs and Cherokees. Done everything you can think of from axles, gearing, armor, transmission swaps, steering, lifts etc. NEVER done a motor swap. I think I need to. I also want a 760li, so who knows. Ha!
