How much is it per gallon in your neck of the woods?

Follow up question, how big is the tank on that beast?

Id check out Maryland Speeds website, Exhaust, Magnaflow muffler. I think it might already have a single 3" system. Some did, some didn't . Floor mats, weathertech pricey but fit the best and stay put nicely. They look great too.

Intake, I like the Outlaw performance one or the GM PERFORMANCE parts one.

Rear entertainment, I'd check on eBay they sell headrests ready to go, some built in DVD some with out. Or would you rather have the roof mount flip down?

Also, had me thinking you could find a used exhaust from a SS silverado or vortec max . They're stainless and 3 " from factory for certain.

Thanks for the info. Just ordered the Weathertech mats. Best by far, from what I could tell and read. This is going to be our traveling car, so the rear entertainment portion is most important to me at this time and what the wife signed off already. I found a single din, but with a detachable face/monitor on Ebay with DVD/GPS and the rest for $200. Going to pair that with two headrest monitors and call it a day for that part.

Pretty stoked to have another mild project since the CJ is done and doesnt even leave the garage!!!

I have decided against selling the CJ

jeep.jpg?t=1328747419

I am now going to add a family style YJ roll cage, 1.25" body lift, 35's of some sort and a 401 TBI Fuel Injuection kit to leave the carb world!!

At first I was worried...Im basically talking to myself here. But then I just pretended like I was at home.

So.......

Just ordered a new radio (keeping the factory one in place and replacing the separate cassette with a GPS/DVD/CD/USB/Backup Camera/MP3 as an auxiliary unit), GM auxiliary input converter, two headrest monitors and an under middle row sub enclosure with built in amp. Should be a fun weekend (assuming it all comes by Friday).

Success thus far. Kept factory radio/CD player and swapped the separate cassette (in image below above little storage compartment) with a secondary CD, DVD, GPS, backup camera and MP3 unit via a GM auxiliary input converter. Now, when you click the "AUX" button on the factory radio where it used to then control the cassette player, it flips to this unit. I wanted to keep the factory look and then just have this second unit below

Before:

2012-02-26_13-50-24_229.jpg

Headrest monitors:

2012-02-26_18-04-18_3.jpg

Monitors powered:

2012-02-26_21-42-15_539.jpg

Need to increase the opening where the cassette player used to live, but this is what is taking its place.

2012-02-26_21-42-22_624.jpg

Also adding a little 8" sub and amp mounted under the middle row of seats. Yeah, this was all for the kids ;)

No past tense, my friend. Still own it. Its a 1977 Jeep CJ7, but there is not a part on it older than 2007 (minus the original frame and front grill).

Have an interesting project coming up hopefully in the next week or so as I find time!

I got a great deal on a '98 BMW 740iL. Original owner sold me the car, 88k miles, interior in mint condition but has some paint flaws on the rear quarter panel due to his motorcycle falling on it (a little ding too). I could just pull the dent out and spray it, but the car is a dark green and I'm not a big fan of the color -- so, I'm gonna paint it midnight blue.

So what, you ask?

Here's where it gets interesting...

I'm going to paint it myself -- with a roller! To most sane people, this must sound absurd, but I did this to a previous car with awesome results.

The point of doing this is:

1) Saving a couple thousand bucks

2) Simple gratification of doing something that not many others have done!

All in all, this will cost just under $400.

3 qt. HOK Midnite Blue ($85/qt)

1 qt. HOK Primer and Activator ($50 total)

1 qt. Kosmic Klear ($40)

various hardeners, mineral spirits, etc... (~ $50)

I do have a sprayer, and will do certain sections with that (door jams, etc) but most of the body will be done with a high density foam roller.

Will post some before / after pics when this is all done!

Yeah, I was (still want to) wanting to build a 4 door Wrangler, but then we're talking a price tag (with purchase and build) of about $20k-$24k. With adding the Suburban into the mix, keeping the CJ, but making some additional modifications, is best. The problem now is that I just found a 1977 CJ5 on craigslist with a 304, brand new 35s, 4 speed, NO RUST and some other goodies all for under $2k. That's just insane, but with just having a second kid, parts for the Suburban having just been freshly installed and CJ7 parts hitting the front door daily, the wife would have my &*%$ in a vice if I bought another vehicle. BUT its such an insane deal and is a local buy! Aaaaahhhhhhhh!

Body lift on the CJ7 is next. Sitting in the garage and ready to be installed. Have my eye on a CJ5 as well. I just cant stop!!!!!

Just put a new Car Stereo in my car and it's one of those that come with a port for your Ipod. I enjoy every minute driving now that I can listen to my Ipod in my car, I don't even listen to the local stations anymore lol. How much does it cost to get a paint job on your car? I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt and been thinking about seeing about a paint job. It's blue now but thinking about maybe Red.

Would definitely say heck no to that. A paint job from a blue tone to a red tone (and done right) would cost anywhere from $2,500 to $5,000. No offense, but sell the car and buy it again if you really don't want blue anymore. It would be cheaper and they're certainly are plenty to choose from.

Flowmaster - 40 series or 50? Loud or not so loud? Any thoughts?

40.. Got that on my truck.. Love the sound cause it's so deep..

It's 3" from the cat back with 3.5" tips and I have cold air intake..

Such a deep "mean" sound but not overly loud like glass packs/cherry bomb exhaust

Honestly no idea.. Love the Kia forte koup's but I'm leaning towards used...

I could afford a new car but if I wanna get back in school and keep my business stuff in the mix then I should prolly go used

I love the Chrysler 300 but my main goal is to find a good deal

Good to know...thanks! I cant remember what I put on my Jeeps in the past, but think I am leaning towards the 40 for the Suburban. As shown above in this thread, I just slapped on an cold air intake as well.
