we give 300 yards to cassel/quinn and i'm officially in panic mode. this will be the worst qb we face all year so it better be impressive. i'm not saying blow them out b/c i think this will be close but at least comfort me as far not giving up yards to cassel like we did with weeden.

Well atleast we have the 4 games in 18 days excuse for Weeden, but for Cassel we are well rested and prepared. I don't expect too much, but atleast some positive development would be nice. Like 250 yards, maybe? That's what the Chargers (ranked 17th against the pass) held Cassel down to. That should be possible, I think. We BETTER get some trunovers as well.

Our secondary needs to show up for this game, to get as many stops and maybe INTs as possible, which has been a problem for Cassel thus far. I think we need to rediscover our old school, smash mouth football, and run the ball down their throats and, and use our physical receivers/TE's and move the ball steadily. No screw ups, just a steady, stabil game throughout, and I'm positive we'll come out 4-1

The offense is not the issue and I don't see much need for changing. The Eagles game was a wakeup call for the offense and everyone understood that it needs to adapt to the opponents more effectively and faster.
In the last 2 games Cam (gasp!) actually adjusted the gameplan according to the team we were playing (good mix of runs and passes against a varied NE defense and mainly passes against a Browns defense only concerned about the run) and I think we should continue to run as much as we need to, not what others perceive as the right amount of touches for Rice, which I find incredibly stupid. We are ranked 2nd in total offense right now (Cam actually doing something right, I can't believe it!). Screw smash mouth football!

The KC offense is turnover prone and our secondary better step up. One good play by Williams doesn't immediatelly redeem him in my eyes. The horror of seeing Celek WIDE open in the field still stings. I think Pees applies more and more pressure packages into gameplans and I commend him for his more aggressive playcalling, but our pass-rush still lacks execution/experience. Our defense better goes to work in that extra long time period between games.

I don't necessarily mind if we give up the yardage (to Cassel, not so much if it's Quinn - who'm we should just blast through) as long as we get picks/sacks/fumbles.

We should punk any of their QBs.

Now, Charles/Bowe/Moeaki (heck even their speedy guys like McCluster or even power guys like Baldwin/Hillis) might rack up some yardage, depending how they're used. But we have to win the turnover battle.

True.

I guess we lose then.... I'm gonna call the Ravens FO now before it's too late and that they waste their time buying plane tickets.
No I'm just saying, I think we'll win. But the reason the chiefs are losing is QB play, I think, more than anything else.

Lmao. Late here but that review on John Baldwins wife made me crack up!

Even better. Look at coolspeedster over there with his high standards. Gives her a 6 on physical appearance and a 7 on service. "A good experience," he says. What a champion. I almost want to look him up and ask him about the grade discrepancy.

The Cheifs offense is only ranked first bc they play from behind. Our D will get it together, but it will not be a blowout.

Flacco throws for his third 300 yard game
Torrey and Boldin have TD's again
Rice goes huge

Bold predictions
High scoring game, goes into the 40's
Cary Williams gets benched,
Pitsburgh loses.
Flacco is only ten yards from breaking 400

I think we win by a comfortable margin.
If we can jump out to a big lead early, that will help mitigate Charles. And if we force Cassell to beat us, well....

In the gif he had about 7-8 seconds. Still no pressure and he throws it to our guy, in a playoff game. Offense better come out, score on the first drive and do it quickly to out some fear in their heart. We had a mini bye, everyone should be rested and should be plenty of time to put together a thorough game plan. I want to see dominance this game.

Surprised no one negged you for this, but absolutely in agreement here from me.
And if people start backing into coverage, Joe has shown he knows to turn around and hand the ball off and make them play back up again....scrub, rinse, and repeat as neccesary.

I'm MUCH more worried about the defense. Cassel isn't a great qb, but their offense is no joke.

I'm not really promoting smash mouth but it's situations where we need to use it just like it's situations where we need to air it out. In the red zone or in third or 4th and shorts, smash mouth with PA to back it up would be nice. Simplify things in those situations, don't complicate them which I feel we are doing with how badly we are converting 3rd downs. People seem to diss the notion of smash mouth and I diss the Brady ball and when we go to Brady ball, it seems like we falter a little but when we run the rock, seems like the O is a lot more successful IMO. Just look at the win statistics of when Ray Rice touches the ball a certain amount of times.

Mine as well. I have a blue jersey with that #.

I hope we at least double that number on the scoreboard this Sunday.

Direct quote from the Chief's forum. They are not filled with as much confidence for thier team's success as many Raven's fans are over here. The difference in perspective is funny.

"Love the optimism, but gotta be realistic, 41-13 Ravens.

Cassel: 11-28 181 yds, 0TD 2INT (1 by Jimmy Smith, 1 by Ed Reed)
Charles: 22 carries 79 yds, 3 recs 31 yds, 1TD
Bowe: 5 recs, 93 yds

Ravens Offense: 436 yds, 5 TD
Ravens Defense give up: 284 yds w/ 2INT, 5 Sacks, 1FF
Chiefs TO's: 4
Ravens TO's: 1

Ravens came close to getting beat by the Browns, but so did the Eagles. Honestly, I don't think the Ravens will look past the Chiefs, because of what happened to the Packers last year. I am SURE that Harbaugh will mention that in the locker room. Cassel [profanity deleted]s his pants, offense puts the defense in impossible situations considering the Ravens firepower. Ravens keep their foot on the accelerator until the game is well out of reach, and Chiefs fall at home.

Sorry to be the buzzkill, but I don't see the miracle that the Chiefs had last year, making a visit to Arrowhead this Sunday."

According to ProFootballTalk, Flowers re-injured his heel and sat out practice yesterday because if it. It's the same heel that caused him to miss some of training camp and that kept him off the field in Week One. That'd be a huge blow to that defense if he doesn't play.

I say we put Ed and Cary on Bowe, and then Webb on Breaston. Then we stack the box and try our best to shut down Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis. Force Cassel to throw (interceptions).
They have a good OLB in Tamba Hali (and I'm hearing some praise about this Houston guy), but great DBs in Eric Berry and Flowers. (Even if Flowers doesn't play.) I would like us to run more than we have any game so far this year.

Pitta and Rice are the keys on offense. I would give it to Boldin and Torrey sparingly, and run it down their throuts.
Stuff the run, and force Cassel to throw interceptions.

We need to score early and often. This will force their hands into abandoning the run game, and then unleash the "D" we saw at the end of the Pats game.
