I will concede that your "feeling" was right. So what do you "feel" the next winning lottery number is? Just kidding. I apologize if I stepped on your "feelings". Sorry. I jest. Its just that the whole "feeling" thing is odd. Sounds like you are claiming some supernatural ability or something.

This is supposed to be a place of rational discourse, but how does one argue the pros or cons of a "feeling". I have to assume that everyone here who has such a feeling is basing it upon some actual concrete piece of evidence. Especially you. I have read many of your posts, and you strike me as a very rational fan and knowledgeable in regards to football and the Ravens. So why not post exactly what it is that is giving you a sense that the Ravens may lose?

Of course, as you stated, and I agree, on this forum you may post your opinion even in a vague way, if you like. Then of course I can razz you about your "feelings" too. :D

I don't remember what I said regarding my basis of my "feeling" regarding why we would lose to the Eagles. I know why I thought that, though. I felt we would lose because they match up well against us. That's neither here nor there anymore. Lol, and I definitely don't have supernatural abilities but that would be sweet. See, I don't go every week and say I have bad feelings that we will lose. I only said that about the Eagles. Lol, I even said we would beat the Patriots, Bengals, Browns, and Chiefs. I still think we will beat the Cowboys & Texans. I'm sticking to that.

Anyway, I hear you on the constant "the sky is falling" outlook around here at times. I know that's frustrating. It's also irritating when people say "see! I told you to be careful that they were a good team" as if our opinions somehow manifest a polarized outcome from that which we originally predicted. I just ignore those posts now. Saves me from having to be bothered by them :P

In all seriousness the Chiefs are looking terrible today. If they play like this next week we will bend them over and make them regret it. I'm sticking to my original guess when I said we would beat them but it would be tough. With the way they look, though, it might be a repeat of the playoff game between us haha.

A 3-4 Defense is the Best Defense to have in the NFL no offense

Really? I disagree entirely. A formation doesn't make a defense good. Personnel does.

I know you are not a gloom and doomer. As I said I remember your posts. With your avatar and name it is hard not too.

As far as KC, tell me about it. They look like crap. Hopefully they play the same against us.

The Chiefs offense looked horrendous. 6 turnovers is an insane amount. Here's hoping to see a repeat performance from that unit.

Against our defense they'll probably look like Super Bowl contenders.

lol We do have concerned on the defensive end, but I've got faith. Our pass rush will be challenged by their OTs, but as shown today and in our Postseason match-up, Cassel can be forced into mistakes.

Lol. We are similar to the Chargers, explosive offense, less explosive defense. It could go down the same way.

Ravens 33 Chiefs 23

Flacco 26/41 343 yds 3 tds 1 INT
Ray Rice 78yds rush 55yds rec 1 TD
As long as the Chiefs get 7 of their 23 in garbage time, I will gladly accept this. Otherwise, I want to see another statement game, a la Bengals!

The amount of times we've seen statement games compared to last minute wins (against any level of competition), I'd say the odds are that this game will be close.

We seem best at the statement blowout game when we have the whole offseason to game plan for Week 1.

I want every game to be like the bengals game!
I agree. Just think its time (after a close BS loss to Philly, nail biter win against NE and a surprisingly close win against CLE) that we demolish a team again. I need to feel really confident about this team real soon!

i don't think we will have any more blowouts like the bengals this year anymore just because our defense will not hold anybody to less than 20 it seems. didn't rivers struggle in the game also? the chiefs defense has been good ever since they got cronnel and they should limit our offense to an extent. the D will determine the outcome this week. use the gameplan we had in the WC against them and we should win :)

Just checked out the depressing chiefs board, and man they want Cassel out of there pronto. They are doing the "suck luck" thing except its for Matt Barkley. I guess its going to be "[profanity deleted] for Matt".

My wifes best friends husband (buddy of mine by association...good dude anyway) absolutely hates Cassel. They live in KC and he was going OFF today about the stubborn support the teams coaches and front office have for this guy. He is horrid!

Not at all! First of all, the way our defense is run, it might as well be a 4-3 anyway. The defensive line aligns as if it was a 4-3 most of the time. Second, the defense is run just like a 4-3 would be. I don't know how many times I have to say it but changing the formation does not automatically make the personnel play differently or better.
The original comment suggested a 3-4, not a 4-3. And there are players who fit one formation better than the other.

Don't write off the Chiefs though, I believe they have the best offense in terms of yardage in the league (purely from a statistical standpoint). When you look past a team you get beat, and the Ravens have done that more than once.

Matt Cassell is one of the 5 worst QBs in the league. That is why we will win. We also match up pretty well against them. Our run defense has been stout this year and if we can stop Charles their offense will wilt.

I hope the Chiefs saved some of those turnovers for us next week, they were just giving the ball away fumbles, ints...

Well... Jimmy did a good job on Bowe in the pre season last year, he didn't shut him down but he held him to short yardage, but I'm not worried about KC's passing attack.

Whenever we (The Ravens) play against a speed back we get gutted. When we played Tennessee during the playoffs in 09' Chris Johnson was torching us. I think it was his rookie year, we got lucky that we hurt him.

Same goes for the Chiefs two years ago in the playoffs, Jamal Charles was giving us work. But Ngata fell on him and he was done for the day. This won't be a cake walk if our gameplan isn't Pittsburgh/New England week sharp.

A poster a few days ago made a great point about our "luck" in knocking key players out, especially running backs. It's not luck, that's how we play football. Other teams, especially the RBs that take the most punishment, generally aren't prepared for how physical we play. It's sad that with the dramatic nerfing of the league and the proliferation of domes we've forgotten that physical play used to be the norm, not the exception. The perfect example is dude in Cleveland trying to say the Ravens play dirty. We punish guys until the whistle, period. It's not extracurricular, it's part of the game. I like it that way.

with the Ravens every game against a lesser opponent is a trap game. playing down (and up) to our opponents is our style. Our D to their credit generally displays alot more consistency with little regard to opponent - they give up more pts to high powered offenses like San Diego, and usually contain lesser offenses like JAX. Its our offense that seems to sputter against lesser opponents. Remember: win at home, split on the road. that is the formula. KC is not one of the tougher road opponents we'll have so we need to get the job done. I'm confident we'll show up to play.

Cassell had all day. He could have baked a cake back there in that pocket.

Kind of reminded me of Tom Brady and the time had in week 3.
