On to the Chiefs

The last time we faced these guys was in the playoffs where we flat out dominated them with a 30-7 win in the wild card match up. This time around I expect a tough game in a hostile environment. We'll need to shut down Charles if we have a shot. If we neutralize their run game they can't run the clock and keep our high powered offense off the field.

This game is definitely winnable after extended rest and game planning but I don't expect a blowout by any means.

Share thoughts below with regards to our next game.

October 7th can't get here soon enough!

This is gonna be tough trying to contain Charles (and maybe they'll use Hillis against us seeing as he'd had some pretty good games against us) and covering Bowe.

Kind worried about this tbh.

But at least we have time to rest and to prepare.
Hillis broke out his first game against us and Ray's response was that even a blind cat can find a meal every once in a while. His next outing against us he got completely shut down.

My biggest concern is obviously Charles. He was gashing us two years ago before Cody fell on him and knocked him out. That play completely changed the dynamic of the game. I doubt we'll be as lucky this time around.
I think teams that have a dynamic back and can go over the middle well can drive and march on us this year.

See how the Eagles did it, how the Pats used a lot of Woodhead, and the Browns going over the middle.

I'd certainly use all this time to prepare on how to stop CHarles and Bowe, and seeing as we can't get consistent pass rush up the middle (we actually did surprisingly well over the edges against the Browns) to disrupt throwing lanes, Cassel might actually do decently against us.
Yeah man. With the holes in the defense we should have legitimate concerns. I never thought I'd be worrying about the defense showing up.

I hardly ever predict a blowout with this team since we always play down to opponents. However, with 10 days rest, i think we win by a nice score of 34-13.

Their defense has been terrible this year and their QB is still matt cassel. As far as jamal charles goes, he is our biggest threat but its not like hes having an incredible season.

As far as the homefield advantage goes, we have always played pretty damn well in arrowhead.

I am not falling into that trap again. I still believe we have a very talented team, but for some reason we have not played to our fullest potential all the time.
It will be a close game, but we will pull of a win by a small margin. Joe will have a 350+ yards game again with 2TDs Rice will have 90+ yards rushing 40+ yards receiving and rushing 1TD.
24-17 Ravens

Honestly, I worry more about the Browns game in primetime with a short rest than this game.
We need to be pumped and have the energy to GET TO THE QUARTERBACK.

Chiefs can still put a hurting, but we should be able to beat them despite that.

Charles will be tough to contain. you add bowe a fast mccluster they have weapons. Tamba hali will be a force for Oher to deal with.. This wont be a push over game in their stadium.

We're going to have to shore up issues with our Defense to ensure a victory. Also, we will need to utilize our TE's more to keep things going well offensively. Although with a big game for Boldin this past game, Kc will now have to make adjustments and maintain pressure on all of our WRs as well as Flacco.

This could become a shootout folks.

Well, right now our strategy is: We have Flacco and Rice, try to put up more yards on the field than us. Worked so far, but for how long?

Having a mini bye is huge here. I think the Ravens will come out firing on all cylinders. Road games are never easy, but i have a good feeling about this game.

The extra days to rest and watch film should really help this team both offensively and defensively. The Chiefs have the potential to be an explosive offense, last week was Jamal Charles first game looking strong again, and Matt Cassel continues to be inconsistent week to week ( good game, average game, poor game )...

Dwayne Bowe will command attention from us, hopefully Webb gets matched up with him most of the time.... Dexter McCluster could be a problem running route across the middle which teams seem to have success with...

If the defense sets the edge on run defense early we could stall them...

I tend to agree here. We dominated KC last time, but we shouldn't forget about Charles. I have a good feeling about this game especially since last night wasn't a huge exciting win where we might have that lingering "hangover" effect that we have so often.

The Chief's secondary finished 10th in the NFL in 2010 and 7th last year - remember, THEY are the team that beat the Packers and cost them an undefeated regular season. Aaron Rodgers finished that season with more QB ratings over 140 than under 110, but against the Chiefs his rating was 80, he completed less than 50 percent of his passes, and was sacked 4 times, 3 of those being by Tamba Hali. It's certainly a game we should win, but I never take opponents with good secondaries lightly, and they have an excellent one.

A big part of why their secondary was so good the previous two seasons was Brandon Carr. At his best, Brandon Flowers is a better CB in my opinion but Carr is a beast in his own right. They've got other players like Eric Berry and Stanford Routt, but I do think KC's secondary can be attacked.

That KC homefield advantage is something special. Our new no-huddle offense is about to face it's first big challenge.
yeaaaaa......about that..........I wasn't all that impressed by their fans in the playoff game.

This is not a trap game. Kansas are a damn good team if they play well. Great rb, great WR, great pass rush. Two of those things could kill us, I'm confident in defending Charles.

Trap games are for bad team, Oakland, browns, jax, Indy and the likes

No joke. They could be down by 200 points and that crowd would still be making noise.
