Defensive Front 7?

I don't know about any one else I nothing but love for Ed Reed but needs to tackle. If he can't then he may want to go. His time is come and gone. He was on eof the best but that time is over. We had Prime Time who would never Tackle and what did we get.

We need the 5 technique to play better. If I was to pick on which is the worst, I'd say it's jones and mcphee.

Ma'ake Kemoeatu isn't doing much up front.

Reed is definitely missing tackles, but it's not a new issue. The bigger issue is that he's had to attempt more open field tackles with opposing running backs constantly getting to the second and third levels.

What's going on with McPhee pass rushing so far? I mean I figured he could at least win a few one on one battles.

Kruger and McClellan come off the edge but never bend inward to get hits on the QB.

Art jones I haven't taken much notice too, in the passing game.

McClellan and McPhee have done well in the run from what I've seen.

I actually thought that upshaw would have much better impact in the run and pass game but haven't seen any pass rush so far.

I felt as if we should have went for the 2pt conv if so we would have been up by nine and would not have gotten ourselves in that position anyways!!!!!

Also we just need T Sizzle to get back so he can "Ball So HARD!!!"

I disagree entirely. Then they would've tied the game after the TD. And who knows what would've happened in the remaining time or the OT?

Found something interesting on the team depth chart. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/depth-chart-2012.html

I hate looking too far into things like this, but I can't help but notice that Upshaw is listed as the starting rush linebacker over Kruger. McClellan is listed as the starting sam linebacker.

Our D line is getting no push up the middle, they look slow and weak. Tackling is a major issue, too many are trying to arm tackle or trying to tackle with helmet. It seems like the guys have no motivation! I had high hopes for the rooks and there dissapointing so far. Makes you think what are they doing in practice? Where are the adjustments from last game giving up 200+ yards? If this team gives up another 200+ yards to Houston, what will be the next step? Or would this team hust have to ride it out?

There are plenty of problems up front, I agree. There were a few times yesterday that a DB would try to meet a RB in the box with their head down trying to shoulder them down.

The media members are having a field day because they can finally "get" Ray Lewis because the Defense has never been vulnerable like this since the mid-90s.

Guys like David Harris, Urlacher, Laurinaitis, London Fletcher are playing much worse but that is okay I suppose.

Peter King sights Pro Football Focus' ratings in his article today; funny he doesn't mention that Jones, Kemo, and McClain are the Ravens 3 worst run defenders by far. Or how a "stud" like Cushing has the same Run defense rating as Ray? Or how Urlacher is by far the worst Inside Linebacker in the the NFL in run defense (his rating is nearly 11 times worse than Ray's).

What was the front 7 doing different in Weeks 3 and 4 when they gave up 120 total rushing yards?

Anyone have any analysis?

We didn't miss fourteen tackles each game like we did yesterday. That simple.

It's inexplicable. The Browns ran the ball less than 20 times and got shut down. The Pats ran it 34 (including two scrambles by Brady) and only put up 77 yards for an average of 2.3 yards. Then KC gashed the D on 51 attempts for 214 yards (4.2 avg.) and Dallas did even more damage with 42 attempts for 227 yards (5.4 avg).

The run D looked leaky on opening night but it seemed to be corrected against the Eagles.

From what I read, Dallas' interior line was struggling coming into yesterday, so yesterday's production makes even less sense. Ngata's injury likely played a factor but it still shouldn't have been that ugly.

I'm amused that the front 7 gets called out and vary Williams but no one is calling out Ed Reed. Guy is terrified to make a tackle it seems

Missed tackles really killed us yesterday... I mean, when Pollard is whiffing on guys, you know it's going to be a long day.

Ed leads the team with 8 missed tackles. In fact the DBs have 30 of the Ravens 39 missed tackles so far this season.

Ironically enough Ray, "the reason the defense is so bad" according to the media, has just 1 missed tackle.

By comparison a guy like London Fletcher has 10 missed tackles already this season.
