Unfortunately (for me at least) Cleveland just came up a bit too short this evening. They hung in there and had a chance to tie the game at the end and really with a team this young and inexperienced I can live with that. It wasn't the "blowout" that a lot of people predicted either. Congrats to your team on winning a great game no matter who you are a fan of honestly.

My personal thoughts:

-- I think Flacco has tremendously improved his game. I wasn't necessarily a "hater" of his game but I didn't think he was anything extremely great either. I'll admit that he has gotten better and some of the throws he made were what you would call "elite" throws. I can imagine it has to be a great feeling to know that you have an offense that can become explosive in a matter of a couple of plays.

-- I think Weeden played outstanding overall. The INT he threw honestly wasn't a really terrible pass; it was just great awareness and coverage by the CB (can't remember exactly who grabbed it). The last throw of the game was pretty bad as well. However, Weeden definitely made some great throws and I'm extremely satisfied in how he handled the football game; especially the last drive of the game. My hats off to him and at least for one night he looked like he could be the QB we've been looking for for a long time.

-- Greg Little has just got to go. The guy is an athletic talent but he just cannot get it as a WR. The two painful drops throughout the game were bad enough but you absolutely HAVE to catch the TD pass that was put right into his hands on the 3rd down blitz by Baltimore. He is just too inconsistent and either needs to figure it out QUICKLY or get out.

-- I am disappointed also that there was not more of Trent Richardson. He is the best offensive weapon we have and I don't feel like he was utilized enough. For two weeks in a row now Cleveland has abandoned the run way too early and put it all on Weeden's shoulders. That formula cannot work over a long period of time.

-- Our secondary minus Joe Haden is abysmal. Brown is a shell of what he once was and aside from him it's marginal players at best. I really hope Cleveland figures out a way to build that up in the near future.

Again.. good game to you all. Would love to hear your thoughts about the game as well.
know the saying is baseball is game of inch's but a few of the passes were a little of or Little just is not your guy in a crucial passing down. You guys played tough the entire game. If a couple of plays had swung in your favor you would have taken us. It was a great game and it looks like you guys are on the rise.

The last point I forgot to make is our WRs. Ugh. What the hell seriously? Little was the worst of them all tonight but besides Ben Watson ALL of our WRs let Weeden down tonight at some point or another. I wonder what it will take for him to get them all in a huddle and just seriously ask them what in the hell they are doing?

Hi Browns Fan,

It's always good to get your perspective on things. Weeden is not ready to have the game put on his shoulders so much. Maybe you could convince your team to take Cam off our hands. He is actually very good for inexperienced QBs. His conservative style keeps the pressure off and that allows their confidence to grow as well as giving them time to develop their football sense, so to speak. :) He just has control issues later when they are ready to take the next step.

Your secondary might not be great but you guys have a great D line. Or our O line is abysmal. Not sure which yet lol

Weeden made some bad throws when he got pressured but despite his age in years he is still a pup in terms of the NFL. Not sure what he was thinking with that last pass. You have to at least give your guys a chance to catch it when it's the last play of the game.

We'll see you guys again soon. Hopefully we can shore up our O line before then.

Oh and here's hoping Weeden has a fantastic game when you face the Steelers.

I think Weeden can develop into a good QB but the guy has got to get some help from his WRs and get Trent Richardson the ball more (not his fault on that one.. coaching staff needs to do better with the play calling and not put it all on Weeden).

I will agree with the last pass of the game.. honestly the only REAL horrible mistake he made the entire game.

Unfortunately, that's the problem. Being 29 (next month) doesn't allow much time to develop. That was one of the strangest picks I've ever seen. He was a huge reach as a first rounder as is, but then add in his age... Very strange!

I thought Weeden did a great job. It's still his first year, just like Flacco he'll get better as the FO builds the team around what he can do.

And as someone mentioned, the heavy rain didn't help either team.

Glad Cribbs is okay, I hate seeing anyone get hurt.

Agreed. The first time I watched Little was last year, and I was impressed. Now it's clear to me that he needs to go. Brandon Weeden played a pretty good game and Trent Richardson was a great find for you guys.
Glad to hear Cribbs is OK.
yeah, too bad he does a little dance after every catch. I dont really see the Julio Jones comparison. I mean they are very similar measurable wise, but Julio is on a whole different level at the wiedout position.

I think your team's a whole lot better than people give them credit for, or their record suggests.

Very impressed with Weeden - how he hung in there and kept fighting, stayed calm and confident, kinda like Joe..
Richardson seems like a class guy, both on and off the field.
Glad Cribbs is gonna be OK.

Now go out there and beat the Steelers for us!

thats the most likes in one comment i've seen on here LOL

on topic... man i think the browns defense was really good. our offense didn't look as explosive as our stats would indicate. almost all our throws were contested in tight coverage and that dline made me cringe all night. you made a good oline (at least IMO) look really terrible. sheard and rubin look like good compliments to each other. i didn't think ray rice would only have 50 yards.

you guys look better than your record but i hope you guys don't fall into the barkley trap. getting mingo or keenan allen is the much better choice for your team if you ask me.

Yeah hope Cribbs is ok. Richardson is dangerous and he'll be a headache for years to come. Let's hope there's no "strep throat" in his contract year though. ;)

Honestly, don't believe the Weeden thing is that big of an issue (his age). It really just means you have him at his peak for shorter. Not too bad considering that 1st round picks don't get paid anywhere near JaMarcus money anymore; so they'd be able to draft a younger one come his 5-7th year in the league.

The Browns are a heck of a team, and I think most Ravens fans know it even though the national media doesn't. They always play us tough, and Jabaal Sheard is the real deal. The Browns didn't plan on being 0-4 and they played like a team desperate not to be 0-4 last Thursday night.

I think the pessimism of Greg Little is a little over-blown as well. Coming out of the draft he was compared physically to Anquan Boldin, but his hands just aren't the same. He shouldn't be utilized to heavily as a 3rd down option, but what option do the Browns really have? He is a very boom or bust player, just as he was a very boom or bust prospect. Sometimes it's honest self scouting that is the difference between a player having a successful career or not. I think if he was used more on screens, slants, and end-arounds he'd be able to build confidence early to come up with bigger plays later in a game.

Lastly, Phil Dawson is a beast.

Isn't TJ Ward highly thought of at the safety position? I remember hearing all about him when he had a foot injury how he was great for their secondary. Shame about Haden getting suspended too.
