I'm not looking for sympathy here. I'm just stating a fact that Art could've sold the team, since he knew that he was going bust. It's different than Irsay because he (Irsay) had the money to stay, and should've. Art knew he was going to have to eventually sell the team because he could not afford it. So why not sell it to someone, instead of relocate? He couldn't swallow his pride.

As far as Colts fans wearing Unitas Jerseys, now that is classless!

Maybe he should have sold the team, but would you have? As a fan of the sport, I would have done anything to cling to my team, even relocate if I had to. In the end it didn't matter since he lost the team anyway. At least he had enough class to let the city keep the Browns name, colors, and heritage.

the most fascinating part to me of course is Ozzie's take on it. They didn't elaborate on what Ozzie meant when he said Art wanted to reolocate to win a championship. Later he says that there's no doubt that they would have won one in CLE because of the sheer talent and drive. The other part I found interesting was how he noted that Belichick had a major hand in the Ravens winning the 2000 SB. I never considered that before - like most of you I assumed Bill B. was just HC for browns and that he was kind of a bust before finding success in NE. Clearly that was not the case and in fact BB was quite successful in CLE in building the foundations for success. Ozzie learned greatly from that and it kind of amazed me that the link between he and Ozzie was as strong as it was and as vital in helping him lead our team to a SB with his masterful drafting.

At this point in time all we ask in return is to stick it to Pittspuke. I'm signing off now to get back to The Gong Show franchise I've been left with.

The Browns will get better. I caught the last 30 mins, part of the reason it took me until 1998 to be a fan of the Ravens, I know what if felt like when Irsay ripped our hearts out.

At least we can all get along on one front. I hope the Browns beat the Steelers (but since this might not happen, just do your best to rough them up a bit).

Hey, your team looked tough last week. Way better than your record suggests. Hoping we ALL stick it to Pburgh!

I watched it last night. Rest easy Raven fans, your beloved football deliverer's name and reputation outside of Northeast Ohio remains pure as the driven snow. Although he's now on record for firing both Paul Brown AND Bill Belichik in his lifetime. CAW!
[/quote] Don't be bitter...You got your team back a few years later...same name, colors, history and even a new stadium. Try waiting over a decade to get one back. I am sure that the "Old Browns Fans" feel the same way about Baltimore as "The Old Colts Fans" feel about Indy.
