Joe Flacco the top QB in AFC?

According to this article, it's not too far fetched.
"However, father time catches up with everyone as the Brady-Peyton Manning era in the AFC is on the back-nine, while quarterbacks like Ben Roethlisberger and Flacco are taking up the mantle in the AFC."
Good read. I mean, once Manning and Brady retire, Flacco's only competition is Rivers, Schaub, and maybe Dalton or Luck down the road but that's premature.
If he plays at the pace he is at now, he'll hit 4,800 Yards, 32 Touchdowns, 11 Int, 65% Completion, with a 8.3 avg per attempt. Now, with weather and opponents we face, I think realistic numbers are probably 28 Touchdowns, 12 Picks, 4200 Yards. 62% Completion with about a 7.8 avg. Rivers isn't projecting to get close to that, Schaub would just about tie that. Ben, who knows. He's up and down and that team is hard to judge. But, really, Flacco has a great chance at breaking people's perception of him this year if he keeps it up

Stats dont make you an elite player.
The issue isn't him being elite, its more about the perception of others and also being the top.in the AFC. Stats are a useful measuring stick but I agree they don't count for everything.

Right. Wins make a QB Elite. Flacco wins! Plus he has stats. He's elite.

just a bit lol....
Anything that can be said to detract from Flacco likely will be said by certain people...
Cue Skip....
“Fluko threw for 4500 yards and 35 TD? Well i have to see him do that again before I crown him.
Coming up next, Who is more elite, Cam Newton or Josh Freeman?“

There must be a flacco thread everyday. Sometimes more than one. Do all teams message boards argue and discuss their qb as much as we do here?
Nope, not at all! They all do, but not nearly as much as we (everyone else) do!

At the end of the day, does it really matter?
What would 52 do?
