Jacoby Jones Appreciation

When Ravens signed JJ my initial reaction was "Ravens just wasted 7 million on a choker, whats Ozzie doing!"
Boy was I wrong.
I know we have a small sample size, so this may be a tad early, but Jones is about 10 times better than I thought he would be. He's every bit the play maker Torrey is and gives the Ravens two serious deep threats that honestly have to strike fear into the hearts of defensive coordinators.
Jones, a third round pick by Houston in 2007, is averaging almost 22 yards per reception with the Ravens and was a Flacco target twice on the final drive in the comeback against the Raven's.
As the season grinds on it will be interesting to see if Jones can maintain consistency and avoid turnovers, but so far........he's been very impressive as the 3rd wide out.

Part of the reason I didn't like him is having him as a returner. He's not the KR anymore and he did muff a punt on Sunday but thankfully recovered.
Losers always say "Next time's gonna be different!". That's right, next time you're gonna lose again.

"Bring it. They want physical. They want to run against us. You know we'll be there."

But no doubt. So far, he's been an excellent addition.

honestly when we signed him all I thought of was that one play where he dropped the ball and allowed us to steal a win from Houston....however, like Pollard and Leech before him, Texans play much better football in purple and black!
Ummm, that scenario almost played out AGAIN Sunday night. He dropped the final punt from New England, he just recovered it immediately. That aside, I like the signing and now opposing Def Coord's have to game plan for 2 speedy Ravens WRs.

I am still warming up to him. He's played strong so far. But I would like to see the consistency long term. The bobble punt at the end was scary, especially considering that he fumbled one in the playoff game against us. Those were two pressure situations. Hopefully he doesn't pull a 'Cundiff'.
But no doubt. So far, he's been an excellent addition.
Same here. I'm cautiously optimistic, but he's proving his worth a whole lot more than Lee Evans!
Hopefully Jacoby Jones doesn't get the 3rd WR curse like those before him.

Just reason #176 why Ozzie's is Ozzie and I'm a bozo.....

Everything that you said is exactly what I think / feel.
I love what JJ is doing so far, but I am going to wait til much later in the year before I make any judgments
