Not if Suggs and someone who could rush the passer is right next to him. But I get what you're saying. I don't know though, Suh might be better than Wilfork as well.
That's true. Suh is a freak athlete but I refuse to give him credit since he's such a terrible human being. I think even he Lions are getting concerned that they can't control him. I see a downward spiral of Albert Haynseworth proportions in Suh's future.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Matt Birk handling Wilfork pretty well. The only weak link on the line was the one I least expected. Yanda's grabbing cost us a bunch of yards, but he's the best RG in the game and he still played a pretty good game so I cut him some slack.

The first holding call was bull, in my opinion. Aside from the holding calls and the hysterical false start, Yanda had a solid game as well.

The oline looked great yesterday. It has really come together!

The Oline plays was much improved this week. Oher really handled lil Jones. I think this group has a lot of promise going forward.

I love what I'm seeing for Oher but I worry about what I call "the blindside" effect. When Oher first came into the league he had a habit of firing off the ball on passing downs. For the longest time he would appear to false start and commentators/refs kind of ignored it because hey, it's Michael Oher, he's famous, maybe he's just so crazy fast it just looks like he's false starting. We swallowed this for a while, but toward the tail end of the first season and all through his second season the luster wore off and they just started calling it.

In this case, I saw a couple of fairly blatant holds on Chandler Jones from Oher of headlock proportions. I worry that the scab refs aren't calling it on him because... well... things like celebrity have an adverse impact on these clowns. Again, I love what I'm seeing from Oher (and not seeing) thus far, but I hope it's not a function of the refs. On the other hand, defensive players have been getting away with crazy holding so maybe he's just adapting to the way things are being called and will adjust once more when the real refs return. Who knows.

It occured to me during the game why Wilfork wasn't having a monster game like he did last year. The Patriots switched to a 4-3 defense this year meaning that Wilfork lined up against the guards and not right over the center. Yanda is a beast and Harewood is gigantic and both are strong enough to handle Wilfork. All Birk had to do was help out the guards or pick up blitzers.

Tell me about it. Didn't they not give up a sack except for the one that was nullified due to defensive holding?

Oher was lights out. Then only one that concerned me was Yanda and his penalties. Hi uber-late reaction to the defensive false start still makes me chuckle.

I love watching the behind the bench stuff on 1WinningDrive. If you haven't already you might want to check it out. There is a part where the o-line coach looks over to Oher and basically says keep it up you're kicking his butt out there. Which of course he was.

It's ironic because I remember one of the criticisms of Oher coming out of college was his relatively short arms and all anyone ever talks about is Chandler Jones long arms. It didn't seem to help him much this week.

He definitely got away with a couple holds, but that happens all the time, even with regular refs. I still take his performance as a positive though.

Through out the whole game I kept thinking "Wow, Our o-line looks great!". KO and Harewood - great. Oher looked legit and did great in my opinion. Only one who had a bad game was Yanda, and we all know he's probably the best guard in the NFL 99% of the time.
Yanda was blocking wilfork a lot so I'll give him a pass.

This Offensive line came out and won America over on a primetime game.. The 5 guys we had on the field played in sink like a line should. The Offensive line with the young guys Harewood, Osemele and Oher were on there blocking Assignments and had very little holding penalties. It was an epic battle between 2 good teams and the better team Won and that is all that counts.. The vets Birk and Yanda are holding these guys together so that fly all over the place and bringing the 60 minutes of football that not only the defense plays.
Yeah I watched that just last night!

Love this team and their family mentality. It's genuine and not forced or contrived like some other teams seem. Another thing I gathered from the 1WD show.

I love how Ray was saying to Joe on that last drive after we scored the TD in the 4th to make it a 2pt game, something to the effect of - "you can ride our backs. we'll get it back and you do the rest".

It was almost as if he was saying 'ok defence, actually start palying now'.

I was suprised that there were not more holding calls on the Ravens O-line, you guys were blatantly holding on so many plays and I'm not even talking about the ticky tack stuff that happens all the time anyways, I'm talking blatant.
