Mike Florio of PFT Bashes Ray Lewis

Has this guy ever written a remotely positive article about the Ravens?

He always seems to have a negative attitude towards Ray/Ed in particular.

He had to dig that up from a local radio interview?

Mundy's hit on Heyward-Bey was dirty. He led with the crown of his helmet and hit Bey right on the chin.

Ed made a form tackle with his shoulder pad and Branch lowered his head at the last moment. The way both players reacted to the play told everybody watching that it was just bad luck and that neither player had dirty intentions. Branch was smiling and Ed, while pissed about the call, was still able to muster a smile and tap Branch on the helmet as a friendly gesture.

Florio needs to shut his mouth about things he clearly can't make an objective observation on.

Of course the Steelers got away with a dirty hit... they're the Steelers!

I'd love to see Florio say some of that stuff right to Ray's face. I bet he wouldn't!

Honestly, he's a big believer in Flacco and I usually see him say good things. But it does seem like he gets defensive whenever a player talks about the defensive receiver penalties in a bad light.

Just an overall lack of respect for one of the game's greatest. Ray is defending the integrity of playing defense not so much the rules of the NFL like Florio is doing.
The rules of this game is, ‘Do whatever you gotta do, by any means necessary.’”
It would be easy to crack a joke right here, but Ray’s ignorance of the rules is alarming.

Or has Ray simply delivered and/or received too many helmet-to-helmet hits of his own?
He should be ashamed as a professional sports writer.

Isn't Florio the same guy who used to handicap horses in the Washington Post? Why is he now writing about football?

Absolutely asinine! I honestly don't see anything else Ed could have done, and I would be more than wiling to call Ed on an illegal hit (especially now that my emotions have died down from last night). If he could have hit Branch another way, I would be fine with it. However, there was not! It was not helmet to helmet, and it was a form tackle. It was a big hit, and certainly you don't want to take many like that, but that is the risk you run playing the game of football. I dunno, maybe Ed should have slid hoping that doing his best impersonation of a speed bump would trip up Branch. Cause when a small receiver crouches down, and leads with his head, there is simply no where you can target on the guy that is not going to hit his helmet. Only thing that can be more disturbing than this hit, would be if Ed really does get a fine.

Also I thought it was funny that Skip was trolling us SUPER hard last night. Like 10 straight tweets that showed hate towards us.

I love Ed and Ray's physical play. Pollard and Webb are no sloutches either. I love how chippy our players are, they don't let anyone push them around.

Just seeing the Bayless tweets and my god, I thought media members were supposed to be fair and unbiased? He is showing how much of a Patriots fan he is and should be removed for showing favoritism.

When reading his sequence of tweets I felt like I was on a Pats Message Board's gamethread.

Right, the world is complaining about the refs favoring us when WE were hit hardest by officiating. 15 yards and a 1st down because Harbaugh was trying to call a time out? Personal fouls on US for every skirmish? 14 flags for 135 yards and we got bailed out? New England got 8 first downs because of penalty. EIGHT.

As for the hit, Ed made it standing vertically, so I don't see how it was helmet-to-helmet. To me it was just a big hit with some incidental helmet contact because Branch's helmet was pointed at Ed.

Not defending Florio because his main objective seems to be to generate traffic for that website by any means necessary but there was this article on Torrey Smith.

http://profootballta...in-perspective/

I would caution you about reading the comments after the story. While most of them are positive there are a few seriously disturbed folks on the website.

That site is absolutely littered with trolls from ALL 32 teams, other than the occasional hilarious comment, its best to avoid the comment sections period and stick with the articles if you must go there. I occassionally post there as "ahostiletakeover" so I should know, but I always represent our team and our opponents as objectively as I can when I do feel it neccessary to say something.

Skip is a mindless idiot. It's obvious he focuses too much on being a troll rather say the truth. Now while there are some second guessing about the Field Goal, I bet he and the Patriots would have sat there and wouldn't have said a word if their Kicker did the same thing.

i'm not sure why he even has a twitter. all it does for him is give him more hate. i laugh at the comments under his tweets but he definitely deserves it. Skip + Ravens = excuses galore. didn't mention a single thing we did right. all that was said by him was fg was no good, pats d let joe off the hook, refs saved us, blah blah go back in your hole skip

While I agree that Skip is a joke, I have no issue with him being biased. All media is biased in some way. Just look at Foxnew compared to CNN. Let Skip talk crap and let the Ravens go out there and win the Superbowl. Then see what excuses Skip has then.
