if i can drive a semi-truck thru the running lanes that our O-line are opening up, why the ravens aren't running a 5'8" rolling ball thru those lanes, i mean i know we won, but for god sake its so frustrating when we went 3 and out in a pass happy series, at least run a balanced attack CAM, take what the defense gives u.

FIRST OFF, we won the game.

Second, Ray Rice had 101 yards rushing with a TD. That's pretty darn good against NE's front 4.

Third, Bernard Pierce had some quality touches and was actually able to get a couple of first downs.

Fourth, they ran the ball in response to the defense that was shown. If Joe read a cover 2 they ran the ball. If they stacked the box they aired it out....

Joe took advantage of the single coverage when they cheated a safety up to the LOS because you WANT to see those one on one matchups on your wide outs. It's common sense...

Umm, we did run the ball and were quite effective with it. Joe also was on point tonight so our offense had a nice balance with the run and the pass. The fact that we were down for most of the game dictates the need to pass which picks up larger chunks of yards more quickly.

The fact that Joe threw for almost 400 yds while Rice had over 100 yds on the ground is pretty astonishing

Rice had 20 carries for 101 yards and a TD. Pierce had 4 carries for 17 yards. Yeah we still threw close to twice as much as we ran, but that's what generally happens when you're in a shootout. The problem is never raw numbers, it's making sure that you're always mixing a healthy balance of pass and run, which we did. We never STOPPED running to just start passing the ball or vice versa - we were very balanced, and did what we had to do when we needed it.

They share pretty nice stats. Good offense!

Weirdest post ever...Rice rattled off 100 yards and effectively opened up the passing game. Did you watch a different game, OP?

Flacco scored too many touchdowns. Why Cam why?

i'm still against Cam, but at least we looked like our old selves for a most of this game. we ran to set up the play action. and then later, when we need to score quick, it was Joe doing his thing like in Pittsburgh last year.

again, i still see some boneheadedness from Cam, and positive rep'd the OP

As Tiki Barber would say, "I'm flabbergasted by this thread." Rice was extremely productive in both the running and passing game. Ray may be one of our best players, but he's not the only good one we have on offense. Only Ravens fans would complain about a 150 yards or so from scrimmage and a TD...

i know we won, but it seem sometimes that we get pass happy, when we can run the ball effectively, i know rice ran for 100 yards, but the running lanes that our o-line are making it crazy not to run the ball more often, in 3rd quarter for example we went 3 and out i think, i mean everybody thought that our weakest link was the o-line, but now that might be our greatest strength, dont get me wrong yesterdays was probably the most balanced attack we have seen in while, but take what the D gives u , run it with rice ,leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeach and pierce
