Surprised no one has mentioned Harewood, this dude is playing absolutely lights out. He was making some big running lanes for RR last night.

What a surprise he has been. We all knew the talent was there but nobody predicted him to be our starting LG and playing as well as he has been.

But one of the biggest knocks on him is his ability to stay healthy. If he can stay healthy, and continue to gain experience at Guard, it'll mean we'll have great depth at T.

1. Upshaw looks like the future LOLB. Sets the edge well and can rush the passer but needs help up front.
2. We need another complete DE like Ngata, one who can rush the passer and command double teams.
3. Cary Williams may need a new employer.
4. Tucker is the real deal.
5. Michael Oher is the most under-appreciated player on the offense. Quick to be blamed but has played lights out the whole season and pre-season. He is my most impressive player.
6. Ellerbe has regained his 2010 form. He can pass rush, good instincts, and he lays the wood. I love the way he stands runners up.
7. Flacco is who I thought he was. He needs some work but he is a Hell of a QB.
8. Our OL as a whole looks very dominant. The tackles are a strong spot. The LG is a work in progress and needs work but he looks to have a future here. Birk looks older but still sharp.
9. Jimmy Smith is physical and fits our defense well. I love the way he plays. I didn't see him give up too many receptions.
10. Reed looks great! So does Webb.
11. People are stupid. Ray Lewis looks like a beast.
This is very true! Oher is playing very well (of course now I probably just jinxed him) but sometimes I have been forgetting he is even playing, which is a good thing.

One thing that I don't understand is the cam hate this week. In general, I can understand. I think that he actually called a good game yesterday. He got back to running the ball and the offense had a MONSTER game. Remember, this was supposedly a "revamped" Pat's defense that we were playing. Wilfork was stout as usual, but if I were to grade the rest of their D they'd all get F's.
I'm with the majority of people on not being a Cam fan, but I agree, its beyond me how I've been seeing all of this criticism of our offense on the boards today. We played a good team people, anyone who thought the other team was going to blow the other out was sadly mistakened. There are always things the team can work on to improve every week, but come on guys and gals, you'd think we had lost again this week with some of the attitudes around here.

I've been defending Cary, but he got abused tonight, and against the Eagles. Jimmy looks like he should be number 2. But the main culprit for getting torched by Brady was the lack of pass rush. Brady had ALL NIGHT to throw the ball on most of those plays. We keep having to blitz to get pressure. We haven't seen McPhee dominate like he did last season. That must pick up.
Like I said before, they don't throw at Web only Curry and Jimmy ..........keep Jimmy cut Curry.

1. I thought our entire O- line played very solid, and got good push consistently especially Harewood, i guess Yanda was a little iffy but still, Wilfork is a tough man to move.
2. Upshaw has been knocked for his lack of speed early on at times, but looked very explosive last night, and another thing i love about him, is he's extremely physical at the point of attack, needs more work but he will be good at setting the edge in time.
3. Jacoby Jones really does have a great set of hands, which has been his problem in the past, he also has helped Torrey a lot as we now have 2 deep threats.
4. TORREY..., what a special person. Would not have won without him. My prayers go out to him and his family.
5. Danielle Ellerbe showed great burst early on in the game with his blitzing, he really showed some good speed blitzing up the middle. But would like to see a little better coverage
5. Ed Reed can still lay the hammer.
6. Bernard Pierce looks like he could be special, good compliment to Rice.
7. But the biggest thing i took away from the game, besides the win haha was that our defensive play calling needs to change. we simply have to blitz until we get Sizzle back

Oh and one more thing i'm done with Cary Williams, even when he plays good all he does is sit back in coverage and lets wr's get the underneath catch, he's overrated just a good tackling CB

1. Our offensive line is becoming less of a concern each and every week
2. Thank the lord cary turned down our contract
3. joe has some nice resiliency to turn a forgettable 1st quarter into the 2nd most passing yards by anyone this week.
4. couldn't have asked for a better pickup than jacoby jones
5. i like the idea of going for more 4th downs
6. our dline got dominated once more. if haloti is your best pass rush you got a problem.

a lot of good a lot of bad and next up the brownies.

1. Vic-Torrey (not mine, someone else said this on this board)!!! Good on ya mate! You're a legend and I wish the best for you and your family moving onwards.
2. Our D can't vanilla pass rush without Suggs.
3. Still, that's where a good DC schemes (like when we played Cincy) and rushes and gives different looks at the line.
4. Our offense is killer when there is balance. We should be a pass-to-set-up-the-run-to-set-up-the-pass team. ;)
5. Joe is clutch.
6. The crowd is awesome. Love you guys in B'More (God knows I was loud in my living room)!
7. Joe is awesome - our WRs don't run complex routes (thanks to Cam :eyes: ) but he fits it in there with tight spirals 90% of the time.
8. Oher was beast.
9. Tucker is the Joe-cool of our Special Teams.
10. Brady still whines way too much for my liking - and those Pats players are arrogant as hell (see Edelman signalling for the first).
11. Carrey was getting abused.

Flacco outplayed Brady once again.

Upshaw looked great!

We really, really miss Suggs. Can't get pressure without blitz.

New respect for Torrey.

Cary looked like Frank Walker.

Offense looked great after 1st quarter.

Refs need to go. A lot of horrible calls for both teams.

O-line looked solid, Oher had a really good game, Yanda not so much but he gets pass.

Tucker is clutch, even though it was scary close to missing.

Reed hit hard tonight! More so than I can ever remember.
Not so sure about that. He was horrendous, but he didn't run around with a yellow flag duct taped to his helmet like Walker did. That dude was a walking P.I. Cary just can't turn and look for the ball.

Oh yeah I forgot. The best FA pick-up was the new JJ. Jones is a beast! I was against signing a 3rd WR but was pleased when we picked up Jones. At the time I thought he would be a PR/KR guy. He is a legit #3.

True, but it might as well been penalties. Point is he looked horrible haha.

Ellerbee has been impressive so far this season. Let's stay consistent like this and he could be a big part of our defense.

I will tell you a few things I took away from the game. Having been in Baltimore now for only a couple months, I am new to the Ravens games. However, it is crazy and intense in that stadium on game day! I love the atmosphere! Last night, I sat close to the coaches wives, and when the "bull hockey" call rang out, one of the women joined in. That was one of my favorite sights of the whole evening. :) The half naked streaker, crazy. The replacement officials giving Harbaugh and Belichick heart attacks on the sidelines, insane. The last drive manufactured by Flacco, very nicely done. The rookie kicker, Mr. Tucker, a great find. Torrey Smith, inspirational. The first Sunday Night Football game for me in Baltimore, a wonderful experience! :)

6. Pees is a poor man's Greg Mattison.
Ouch lol. I was an adamant defender of Mattison, but through 3 weeks this statement rings true. At least Mattison had some variable coverages in his playbook and some creative zone blitzes. Pees just does the nickel fire every 3rd down to generate pressure.

1. Joe is still a hot and cold quarterback. When he is hot. He's unstoppable. But when he's cold, look out. I expect by year's end we will see the offense and him grow mire consistent.
You can't say that after just 3 games. For now he has been "hot" in 2 out of 3 and one half of the second game. I actually liked how he bounced back from a bad 1st quarter of the last game.
Wait until the bye week to pass judgment on this issue. That Eagles game was even more confusing than the Pats game imho. Fights were breaking out all over the place and the refs had no control over the game.
Naturally when the Ravens complain about that stuff it's whinning and when the Pats complain about it everyone is listening. Geez. -_-

1. Dont rely on Pierce to punch a hole on 4th & 1.

2. Dont waste red flags early.

3. Mix in the run game. We are a RUN team

4. Pass rush is overtly sloppy. All pass through the O-line, but never finish.

5. Cary Williams project is over.

6. Dean Pees/Cam Cameron just dont get it. Find replacement next year.
Don't forget Flacco could've had 3 picks.
Those are the negatives, but we had plenty of posotives. On defense, we stopped the run pretty good (yeah it was the Pats) and we still hit with the best of them.

Did you notice the horrid blocking he got? Please tell me you noticed that. That wasn't on Pierce in the least.

Yes. Bad challenges.

I want to run the ball more!

They need to wrap up better and the DE's have to turn the corner better around the edge.

Not over yet. I'm still convinced that scheme is making him look worse than he is.

I doubt the coordinators will leave regardless of what we want.

I gotta say though, last week I applauded the Eagles for playing within the lines the refs laid. Even though many Ravens fans called foul.

But this week the Ravens definitely learned from last week, and I applaud them for that. Receivers practiced being held. They also took more on defense. So I applaud them for tweaking their game.

Relax..lol. I dont hate pierce, that play wasnt all on him. The O-line collapse, and coaches are to blame too. But to me going for 4&1 with pierce was a dumb move. Inexperience, and pressure was too much for him. He saw the the hole was clogged up, he panicked, then just tried to ram inside the hole anyway. We got lucky to scrap away the win after that debacle.

While we only got 2 Sacks on Defense, we let ZERO sacks on Offense.

Torrey went off big, Jacoby is the number 3 we've dreamt about and Rice is making the best out of what he is getting.

That being said, Rice is our best asset and needs a lot more touches!

I can actually. I'm not saying its all on Joe, but he is streaky sometimes. And a lot of the best quarterbacks start out this way, it's part if a quarterbacks development.

[*]I have not given up on this team’s ability to become consistent but they need to realize who they are (balanced) and not be concerned with imitating the league.

[*]I have not given up on the team’s ability to adapt during a game but why wait until the game is nearly over.

[*]I have not given up on the ability of the team to pressure QBs but they do need to improve.

[*]I have not given up on the idea that Ed Reed can still deliver hard hits.
The No-Huddle is good in certain situations but can handicap a defense if not successful.

Fair enough. However, if I would have to pass judgment on Joes consistency, then I would have to conclude, that he is getting better with every game, after our victory against NE.
Consistency is not necessarily about being perfect all the time (nobody is), but about being able to bounce back after a bad play and while Joe was not able to do that in Philly (easily the most chaotic game we played yet) he was able to pull it off in the game against the Pats.
He played really bad in the first quarter and had to outduel Tom Brady, who was on fire all day. He had little to no help from the defense and then he still manages to outplay Brady?
That inconsistency is trending down and I swear Joe seems to fix things that didn't work out for him almost on a game to game basis.
A lot people will complain, that Joe has almost been picked twice, but I actually don't mind that, because he wasn't. I'm only concerned with INT that actually end up being interceptions. I cannot complain about my QB taking chances, trying to make something happen. Many of those throws to Torrey were quite darring and I don't want us to play "not to lose". We have done that long enough and while it gets us to the play-off consistently it also keeps us out of the Superbowl consistently.

Oh, absolutely. Joe has been consistently improving on areas of his game. I loved him reading the Cover 2 and running and passing accordingly to move the ball. I also love that he's more confident taking chances down the field, and believe me, I'm not one of those whiny fans who say we should go back to ground and pound consistently. But, Joe does tend to get streaky and I think it's because sometimes he rushes his mechanics. Like that throw to Boldin that was almost picked on that last drive, I think the decision was ok, but his delivery wasn't very compact and the throw sailed on him. I'd like to see more improvement there. Ofcourse sometimes throws will still miss there mark, I understand that's the nature of the game. But for the sake of ball security, especialy on a game winning drive, those throws cannot happen. That was a close call for us.
Now the interception he did throw, that was more on the receiver I think not being ready. It was a little overthrown, but he still could have probably caught it or at least broke it up. Also, loving the back shoulder throws to Jones by Flacco.

The way Jones makes play after play makes me believe, that Flacco might a lot better than Schaub.
Still, I know where you coming from. I am as happy to see Flacco have more responcibility and play great football as any other Ravens fan, but you are right on the money with his mechanics sometimes lacking in execution. Not often, just a throw here and there, but that can throw a QB out of rythm. I think (well, hope) that fundamentals obsessed Jim Caldwell will solve this as the season progresses.
Joe still looks sharper than ever. We have the 3rd best passing offense in the league right now. How much can we complain, really?

We should blitz more and often, use creative stunts, delayed blitzes, cross-fire blitzes..

Ellerbe has a nastier side of him this year, he looked very aggressive, threw down a couple of linemen, one play really sticks out in my head because Ellerbe tossed the LT and the LT kicked him in the facemask out of anger lol

Webb essentially stopped Welker when he shadowed him around the field... The Webb blitz is getting predictable other teams will study the film and begin to have a quick screen checkoff as well

Cary Williams rarely ever turns his head around to see the football, is beginning to let his mouth do more talking than his play on the field, plenty of times Cary will be in the play or even in position but not turn his head to make a deflection or int...

Deonte Thompson in my eyes is revitalizing our Kick Returns, I think he will take one to house within the next 3 games, it just feels that way..

I'm still not sure how the O-line got shuffled into its current Form before week 1, but they are playing well right, I hope they continue to improve. Osemele has looked really good and Harewood at guard I have seen him maul a few people which is a pleasant surprise.....

It's important to get Rice touches early and get some runs in early so that offensive linemen can get their feet wet, and because once a couple first downs occur then the no huddle can become more effective.

Someone on defense has got to step up and win some one-on-one battles to force sacks:
Upshaw, Kruger, Jones, McPhee someone has to step up and either edge rush better, or use better technique to get by OL...
