Browns vs. Ravens!

If the Ravens overlook the Browns, it'll be a long hard hitting game, and coming off 3 straight emotionally charged games, things could get tough.

However, i don't see any reason why the Ravens wouldn't perform at the same level of the first 2 nationally televised games this year, only differences will be that the D will show that they can still dominate.

I have to believe that the players want to win this game for ART, also still rallying behind Torrey who is still dealing with his loss. The good thing about playing on a short week is that the gameplan on both sides become pretty basic and the more talented team usually wins.

I think it will be easier for the Ravens to have a strong gameplan against the Browns then it will be for them against us. For us, run the no huddle, dictate tempo, keep at pretty good mix between pass and run going, attack down field constantly, focus on stopping their run, allow Cary and Jimmy to play their game(press man), force Weeden to hold the ball, and don't give Cribbs any chances in the Return game.

This will be a 50 point game for the Ravens. Flacco passed for about 370 yards in 3 quarters against the Pats. I have him throwing for 350 yards, 5TDs, 4 coming in the first half. Rice will rush for 130 yards, 1TD and Thompson gets his first career TD on a Return.

The scary thing is, i don't even view this as a bold statement.

The NFL isn't going to move on its position, and the more vocal everyone is, the stronger the OOs (Official Officals) position. It is either time to hunker down and deal with it until there is some catastrophic injury (as if losing part of an ear or a concussion/neck strain isn't enough) or loss of life.

OR

It is time for the Players and Fans to take action!

Here is an idea - I'm calling it the "Take a Knee" campaign!

PLAYERS:

After the kickoff to start the game, the Offense snaps the ball and takes a knee - 4 times. The ball is turned over to the opposing team.

The opposing team's Offense does the same thing - snaps the ball and takes a knee 4 times.

THIS IS WHERE THE TRUST COMES IN! The initial kicking team that gets the ball handed to them and then actually takes a snap to execute a play would be a pariah in the league. I'd like to see the captains shake hands at the coin toss to make a public commitment to execute the demonstration.

Ultimately, the ball goes back to the time who received the kickoff - at the same line of scrimmage - and the game begins. The only "loss" is the time off the clock.
FANS IN THE STADIUM:

Cheer and chant (ENOUGH! ENOUGH!) through the "demonstration" on the field.

Boycott sales for the first quarter of every game.
FANS AT HOME:

Text/tweet/email the NFL with "Enough is Enough - We want the OOs before someone gets hurt!"

Boycott sales on NFL.com for the duration of the lockout.
Starting on Sunday, 9/30, do this at the start of every game, on Sunday, Monday night, Thursday night... keep going week to week until the NFL wises up. I think it will get their attention.

C'mon! We ARE NOT helpless SPECTATORS! They did not buy our silence because we bought a ticket! Shout it out and spread the word:

Tweet/Text/e-mail the campaign details to your NFL team/players/coaches

Clog the Blogs: Post it on the NFL, Sports, News, and Local/National radio and TV blogs.

E-mail the Radio and TV station Sports hosts.

Post it on your Facebook
Hey, first time post for me. Die hard Ravens fan from Kentucky here. I bleed purple, 'nuff said. Like mentioned above, should be an easy win this Thursday night and then get some extra time off. I have been a fan since '96 and about the only thing i don't know about the team is when and how they decide to wear their all black uni's, anyone know?.......I have seen them at night games only...well, this past Sunday was at night.

Please enlighten me regarding the disdain/condescension for those of us who like the uniforms. That's a pretty major part of the team. It's the aspect which provides instant recognition, after all. I like the colors. I like that there's a literary allusion in the team's name. It adds to my passion for the team. I can't imagine I'd be as passionate if, for example, we were the Baltimore Browns with 53 guys dressed up as turds every game.
I'll be in an alternate jersey in row 1 on the Ravens' sideline at the game tomorrow night and hope the team is dressed in the alternate uniforms, too.
Seriously - what's the problem with that?

Edit: my apologies to Browns' fans who may be looking at this. Y'all have things tough enough without another reminder about your uniforms. I could have just as easily said something about the Colts, who appear to walk around with traumatic head injuries from a horse's kick to the skull.

I have never expressed disdain or been condescending toward any (Raven's) fan on this forum. Certainly never toward you. If you read something into one of my posts, then that would be your misinterpretation not my meaning. I take no responsibility for your mistakes. ;)

As to uniforms, I agree with you about team recognition, the general importance of the uniforms ( I like the team colors too.) I can even see passion, I guess. All true. I have nothing against the uniforms. But, as imortant a part of the whole team mystique that the uniforms play, this is football. A men's game as Ray likes to point out. This is not America's Greatest Models or some fashion show. I agree that the uniforms are important, but that importance is small. Not as important as who is actually throwing or catching the ball, or who may be hurt, or who is standing on the other side of the field. I jest with those who seem to attach a greater meaning to what color the team is wearing, often as if that has more import than the player in it. But I only jest. There is no bite behind my words. At least none is meant. Even if you did beleive that the color of the jersey is more important than who wears it, I may roll my eyes, but I would not be disdainful. Unless you were a Steeler's fan.

Personally, and in keeping with your sentiments regarding uniforms, I prefer the team to wear the team color. Not black. Not white. Purple. That is the team color after all.

Oh, that's right! That only happened in my Madden NFL 12 franchise with the Jacksonville Jaguars, when I took Blaine Gabbert and made him surpass the likes of Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, John Elway and Dan Marino to become the greatest QB of all-time. Silly me...

Seriously, though: The Ravens are extremely lucky to get this Thursday Night Football game at The Bank. I can't imagine how much of a pain it is to travel on a Wednesday (or early on a Thursday) and play a game, only a mere 4 days since your last contest. Even for the Cleveland Browns, that still must be a pain.

Actually, it's been two years in-a-row Baltimore has gotten lucky. Remember, that game against the Niners was on Thanksgiving night. Man, that match-up was such a fun, hard fought, old school battle.

this game is gonna be tougher than what people are making it out to be, the browns will challenge the ravens Secondary, they will air it out, remember there's no pass rush so a lot of time to throw for weeden, they have a solid running game going on with Richardson, and a solid D

we can take them lightly if we want to, we don't play. Hate when people accuse fans of taking a game lightly as if we have an affect on the outcome

Fair enough - thanks for the explanation. I like the purple, but those alternates are a nice change of pace every once in a while.

Richardson kind of scares me like someone mentioned, but I think we can handle him. I don't think it will be a blow out game. I think we play kind of conservative since it's the Browns, I feel like that will be the mindset of the staff. I hope not. I hope we kind of experiment with the Browns, send some blitzes and such. We put up 20+ points.

there D is average maybe with haden...
and there running game is anything but solid. Trent averages 3.5 per carry.
I havent watched there games but he averaged what 2.3 yards per carry last week?
Tho he does scare me a bit. but well ahve him undercontrol.

There offense is bottom 5 for points a game, passing yards a game and rush yards a game. also total yards.

Also there best WR has about as many yards in 3 games as T smith had last week.

To me, seriously: they're just uniforms. I don't think the Ravens look any more or less 'cool' with one uniform color over another. I'm much more enamored with their play on the field. That being said, I don't feel like people that get into the uniforms should be made fun of or anything like that, it's just not my thing.
i could have said wE will beat the pats 100 0 and Brady throws 10 ints and even believe that could happen and it still won't affect what happens on the pitch.

I think, seriously, if we play like how we did against the bengals on offense and close to the kind of d we played last year, this game could be a blowout by the end of the 1st qtr. I see flacco being subbed out in the late 3rd early 4th, for the second time in four games. And we'll if its close its close, it wasn't my fault, It just means the browns played out of their skins AND we [profanity deleted] the bed

I expect a tough, hard fought game. If the Browns can play the Eagles tough, then I wouldn't expect the game to be a blowout.

Some of us just aren't interested in the uniforms. I'm much more interested in the actual football aspect of the Ravens. I like the whole x's and o's kinda thing. I like watching them play football. I could care less whether they wore purple, white, or black. What matters to me is football, not how they dress for the game. I wouldn't be any less of a Ravens fan even if we had a lackluster uniform like the Browns.

Its not that its wrong to talk about the uniforms; its just not the most stimulating conversation for myself and several others.

Like Cam Cameron or not, the Ravens are ranked 2nd in points scored, 2nd in passing yards and nobody can accuse him of not using 3 and 4the WR sets right now.

Also for the 2nd straight matchup, he got the best of the "Defensive Genius" that is Belichick.

That was a little more then just two words.

Honestly this is a win. Why?

Joe Flacco. The secondary of the Browns is very weak right now especially without Joe Haden, he can pick 'em apart.
I predict that tomorrow will be the day where the highlight films can have plenty of shots of Flacco throwing touchdowns.

The defense is being odd. They should contain them, but after that emotional victory... I'm not sure.

Now explain to me why you feel that a change of pace is needed. The purple fulfills all of your uniform "requirements", so why the need to change to the black? I really do not understand. Of course I know why we have alternate uniforms, so that two teams do not wear the same colored jersey, but why, as a fan do you like to see a change of color?

Lets see we scored on the Bengals and Patriots D pretty easily, I dont see that changing with Browns. I think it will another high scoring game for the Ravens.

Off topic:
I think the Ravens logo is cool, but they should of picked a crab lol....that reminds me more of Baltimore.

The Browns COULD give Ravens a fight. The Browns COULD look like an NFL team. The Browns COULD accept the resignations of Pat Shurmur and Mike Holmgren. The Browns COULD have stayed in Cleveland. The Browns COULD get some cheerleaders. The Browns COULD join DI(AA) College Football. The Browns COULD get new pink uniforms. The Browns COULD put a logo on their helmets (probably a logo of a small child playing in the sandbox to match their demeanor). What else do you suppose the Browns COULD do?
