Browns vs. Ravens!

213 posts in this topic

I am hoping that Harbs uses the concept of Art Modell in the locker room.
The fact that a few of the Cleveland writers blocked his inclusion in the Hall of Fame should be a nice motivation for our guys, considering the way they felt about Modell.
Let's give them something to write about.
Go get 'em - on national tv!!!

FYI, You can still buy tickets (not just single seats) for Thursdays nights game against the Browns on Ticketmaster (at face value). There seems to be a lot of tickets left still.

Just because its the Browns doesn't mean its a night off. Its a national televised game and we should show off our fandom.

I so wish I could go this year but I can't. :(

Without Joe Haden, we shouldn't have any real issues on Offense... just be aware of Jackson over the middle.

Brandon Weeden is probably having nightmares.

Of what? Our defense giving up 350+ yards a game? The only thing I'd be scared of right now if I was Weeden is Edward. Outside of that I'd throw the ball wherever the hell I wanted.

Nah, Weeden isnt Vick, much less Brady. Weeden will be extremely lucky to crack 180 yards on us.

You heard it here first....Weedens stat line will be:

13 - 28 for 162 yards, 0 TD 2 INT

Of course I'd love to be wrong, I just call 'em as I see 'em. I felt Flacco took some big steps last night but more than a few times he misread the coverage and threw ill advised passes. He looked alot more comfortable this week operating the two minute offense than last week.

That said, it's a continental divide between winning regular season games at home and taking the show on the road in the playoffs and stacking up great games. We'll see if he's up to the task, I hope JF can do it but am still not a believer.

Think so? Possible. I'll make my own prediction, a bold one!

Ravens: 34 points, 4 TDs, 2 FGs. 350 yards passing, 150 yards rushing. 3 sacks, 2 picks, 2 fumbles & 1 fumble recovery.
Browns: 6 points, 2 FGs, 0 TDs. 130 yards passing, 30 yards rushing. 0 sacks, 0 picks, 0 fumbles.

Maybe unrealistic and I will look crazy when I am wrong but a genius if I am right! Lol.

its not really that unrealistic. the browns defense was already terrible this year and without joe haden their secondary will get destroyed this week. joe should be padding those stats in the fantasy football side of it. their run D hasn't been too sharp either. i know we are ranked close to the browns statistically on defense but the difference is our D can play better than how they have. the browns well thats probably the best they're going to do. should be a repeat performance from last week by our offense. and there is no reason why pees shouldn't be blitzing and playing tight coverage this game.

Ravens 31, Browns 19

Like everyone else, the Browns will move it between the 20s on us with relative ease, even with their 54-year-old rookie QB. Lots of FGs.

Their D sure seems to be down though, and I think we'll get some quality TDs. Three for Flacco and one for RR on the ground.

I thought I wouldn't have to say this, but it is obvious I do.
We canNOT take the Browns lightly! It would completely destroy the moral we got after the big Patriots win!
Put Webb on whichever Browns receiver had more than 500 yards that year, I think Massiquo. (Don't correct the spelling.)
I say we test out some new pass rush schemes.
Oh and Trent Richardson, welcome to the NFL. From, Haloti Ngata.

They should get that guy who did the anthem on Sunday back. It's pretty rare that I hear an arena rendition of your national anthem that I like, but I thought that guy did a great job. He's been lucky for the team so far.

I'm gonna make a bold prediction. 35-0 Ravens. Flacco throws 4 TD's to Boldin, Jacoby, Pitta, and Torrey. Rice runs in a TD. Defense forces 2+ turnovers and 3 sacks.

I'm a die hard Raven fan and have been my entire life but this officiating deal has gotten out of hand. It was hard enough to watch our last two games. Now we get to watch a the Ravens play the first prime time game since the fiasco on Monday. Of course I can't imagine the refs playing a significant factor in our game, but who actually thought these replacement refs would have affect the outcome of the Packers game?

Too bad we couldn't let the Patriots win marinate a bit longer. I'm sure Flacco will bring his A game again though. Our offense is looking scary good this year!

If the Ravens overlook the Browns, it'll be a long hard hitting game, and coming off 3 straight emotionally charged games, things could get tough.

However, i don't see any reason why the Ravens wouldn't perform at the same level of the first 2 nationally televised games this year, only differences will be that the D will show that they can still dominate.

I have to believe that the players want to win this game for ART, also still rallying behind Torrey who is still dealing with his loss. The good thing about playing on a short week is that the gameplan on both sides become pretty basic and the more talented team usually wins.

I think it will be easier for the Ravens to have a strong gameplan against the Browns then it will be for them against us. For us, run the no huddle, dictate tempo, keep at pretty good mix between pass and run going, attack down field constantly, focus on stopping their run, allow Cary and Jimmy to play their game(press man), force Weeden to hold the ball, and don't give Cribbs any chances in the Return game.

This will be a 50 point game for the Ravens. Flacco passed for about 370 yards in 3 quarters against the Pats. I have him throwing for 350 yards, 5TDs, 4 coming in the first half. Rice will rush for 130 yards, 1TD and Thompson gets his first career TD on a Return.

The scary thing is, i don't even view this as a bold statement.

I agree! Many here are taking the Browns lightly (usually a bad sign). The Browns are an improved team that hasn't been able to transform improvements into wins...yet. Lets not make the mistake of looking past them.

This game should be such a blow out we dont have to worry bout the refs making wrong calls!
For (Art) obvious reasons the Browns are always motivated to play the Ravens. Lets hope we can win the game early with a big lead and sit Joe, Ray, and others to provide game experience to our less experienced players and protect the starters.
we can take them lightly if we want to, we don't play. Hate when people accuse fans of taking a game lightly as if we have an affect on the outcome

Anyone know if they are introducing the offense or the defense?

I believe we introduced the defense on Sunday, so this would be the offense again.

As much as we the fanbase are apart of the engery around the team, we have no direct impact on what does or doesnt happen on the field. If the players overlook the Browns then its a problem, but Flacco isn't gonna become a Int machine just because members of the Flock think we should crush the Browns.

I personally think this is a much different Ravens team then we've ever witnessed in our history. Ravens teams in the past might have allowed this to be a close game, but i don't think this Ravens team will. Reason why? The offense. In years past our offense did just enough to win games with the defenses help, now the offense is going out with a score every possession attitude. It's like they have the mentality like, we don't care what the defense does, we'll score until the game is over.

Flacco has said he wanted the offense to be aggressive until the game was way out of hand, that's how they are playing so far. I look for it to continue.

if things get out of hand by halftime, it would be cool to get thompson a few reps with joe in the 3rd before they take him out to see what he can do. i think he is much more than a returner. he has great potential. i see they are doing it with doss so he should get some too.
