Browns vs. Ravens!

I'm expecting a big win.

But never discount the fact that its a divisional game and that we are coming off a huge emotional win.

As long as the Ravens can move the ball effectively, I expect a good win in yet another prime time game. However, coming off an emotional win and having to play with little rest or time to game plan, could take its toll. Browns will really want to get that first win, especially against the Ravens in prime time. Definitely all the makings of a trap game, but that doesn't mean it will be. The Ravens are clearly the better team, and should put them away without much struggle.

Stop Richardson and used disguised blitzes and this could be a five turnover romping! Ed reed 2 picks, 3 sacks by the d, 3 tds by joe, 2 for rice, plus 40 points, keep them to under 10.

Let Richardson go off and play off zone coverage, be more like 20 to 10

I could see similar offensive numbers to this week - 300+ yards for Joe, 100+ for Ray, 2 receivers with 100+ yards receiving. And as porous as our D has looked these last 2 games, I think Weeden's in for his first bar-mitzvah in the NFL.

I look forward to a game where we can hopefully let go of most of our stress on the refs and the points being made, and just completely blow someone out for once. The past two games have been too close.

On a short week, I'll take any W. Obviously, I expect a blowout (I mean it's the Browns, come on!) but I just want us to leave Thursday's game with a 3-1 record.

Yep. Trap game, anyone?

If it was anybody else, maybe. But not the Browns in Baltimore.

With Haden out, Flacco and company offense should romp. On the other side, their offense isn't nearly explosive enough to give the D trouble. I'm expecting a big win.
Oh my my... I forgot that Haden is taking a league sponsored vacation. This game could be a repeat of the week one shellacking of their Ohio cronies

That's why it's called a trap game lol...
(i.e. - Ravens fans last year: "No way in HELL JAX beats us!!"
JAX: lmao'ing all the way home after the game..)

I don't want to think what this board will be like in that scenario... yikes.

With as good as the Ravens offense has looked and as (almost 100% of the time) bad as the Browns offense has looked realistically speaking the Ravens should win. I always hope for a Browns win and always root for them but I will admit I'd be stunned if they somehow won.

The stopping Richardson debate is one to be had at another point IMO; he didn't do much of anything week 1 and week 3 and we were still in both of those games going into the 4th quarter. The one game he blew up and did really well we lost by 7. I think Cleveland's offense is definitely more potent when Richardson gets going; Weeden looked his best in week 2. Unfortunately when you have a team where almost half (26 out of 53) of the players are either rookies or 2nd year players it's extremely tough to win games and you make too many mistakes.

Flacco and the offense really should have a great game unless they either just put out a stinkbomb performance or by some miracle our secondary decides to play like a top NFL team. Haden is out and Brown is not 100% so you're looking at 3rd-6th stringers on the depth chart in the starting lineup. Flacco should probably spread it out and fling it like there's no tomorrow. He can dink and dunk it all day due to how far off our corners play because of their lack of experience and playing time.

All in all here is to a good game. I can accept them losing if they at least show something and try.. which they have done each of the first three weeks.

I will be stunned if the Browns put up a touchdown. Yes, I am calling that. I don't think they score a touchdown on us. There are too many reasons why I believe this but let me explain my primary rationale:

OL: outside of their star LT they don't have a solid OL. Their RT looks awful. I know we don't get a lot of pressure but he looks really bad. I don't see him winning one-on-one battles. They also don't have TEs that can be used to stop us. I see a lot of sacks.

RB: Trent Richardson worries me but I'm not overly concerned. He is the type of RB we can usually contain. I see us doing it this time too. Upshaw and Cody played with him so he knows their tendencies but they also know his. I think we have a lot of advantages over him.

QB: Weeden isn't that good. Not sure what the Browns were thinking but he is not a 1st round QB. He is also a rookie, which are typically ineffective against us--typically. Nothing is typical about our defense this year, sadly. Not yet, anyway.

WRs: this is my favorite. They had maybe two WRs that can be effective here. Then again, they are both rookies. Add in Webb and Smith (whom I trust can defend them both) then you have an effective secondary to stop their receivers. Little should be covered by Cary since Little can't catch anyway. I am not even being funny.

Home Field: our home field will make it VERY hard for them to throw, making them have to run the ball. Again, this should work in our favor.

Art Modell: I think the Ravens will play a little extra hard for him in this game. Beating the Browns means a lot now that Modell has passed and after what the city of Cleveland and its fans have put him through.

I see a big win. I see a defensive shutout. I see fumbles, sacks, and interceptions oh my! I don't think the Browns get any points against us. I see this being Bengals part 2.

Our overall defense has looked poor so far. Redding,Suggs and JJ were very unappreciated in the run D.

I feel we're getting ran on because Codys not starting. Because we want our best pass rushing DL out there most of the time... Just a thought?

The seasons young but 3 games in teams we've faced have attempted to run against us 103 times. (4th in the league). We've been good containing it because their yrds/a is only 3.3, which is 4th best as well. We also let up 6 rushing TDs already which is second most in the league. Our goaline defense is just not looking good this year, not scary.

Teams have passed it 110 times vs us which is 20th in the league. They average 8.4 per attempt which is 27th worse. We have only allowed 2 passing TDs this year which is tied for first so far. Even though it doesn't feel like it we're tied for 8th in sacks, 12th in INTs.

We're 27th in total yards allowed, We're tied for 15th in points allowed.

...I know we're only 3 games in, but this is concerning for me. We're the Ravens man.

Maybe I should just follow Rays model... "come at me with stats at the end of the year".

Big time letdown game, potentially. Browns have been improving week to week. But there's no reason we shouldn't win this, handily.

Side note: So after this Thursday's game, we'll have played 3/4 games at home, only one on the road. Schedule-makers weren't nice!
I've dreaded playing against Trent Richardson every since they've drafted him... Seriously I cursed like a sailor. This gives me that some feeling I had when we played against Peyton Hillis for the first time... We have to shut Trent down on 1st and 2nd down, I dont care if he has been inconsitent so far. I hope Upshaw takes playing against his former teamate as a personal challenge.

This may not be the same Browns team as last year, but if I remember correctly, a lot of their games were only decided by a score or two. So, don't be fooled. The Brownies, albeit the 'runts' of the AFC North, can still cause you some trouble. Better hope the Browns OL doesn't pick up our blitz and Richardson gets loose. If you didn't see him break four tackles in a ten-yard space, you need to go watch that highlight.

Yeah, same. I was disappointed when they drafted him. I personally have a very high opinion of him. And I agree, he reminds me of the feeling I had of Hillis but really I don't see that happening this time.

You know who Richardson reminds me of when I watch him? Marshawn Lynch.

Well, seeing how the Buffalo Bills managed to keep Trent Richardson to just 12 carries for 27 yards, today, and 6 catches for 24 yards, the gameplan is very simple: Stop Richardson and the game becomes an easy win.

Seriously! Nothing more, nothing less. No need to over-think things against the (new) Cleveland Browns. Keep things straightforward, pick-up the easy win, and enjoy the extended break.
Honestly, I agree but I still shake when I think of two words. Cary Williams!

They're giving up over 4 yards a carry on the ground, and are bottom-6 in passing defense (so are we right now, btw). More importantly, they're near the bottom of the league in both yards per game and points per game. It's always tough to play a divisional opponent, and even tougher on a short week, but I think we can handle our business this game.
