Cary Williams

I would also add, that being in man-to-man doesn't always mean we have to have a bump-and-run or press coverage. At lower league levels, it's a play-defined action. I think it's safe to assume they do the same in the NFL. (I would add this to my previous post, but I can't edit it because I finally signed up and need to wait for post approval - sorry! :( ).

Hey, I asked for Tebow and Jesus got Cary a pick six. And after that
If it weren't for the pick six, this would have been another terrible game. Dude needs to grab some pine and let's see what Jimmy is all about.

Agreed, can I be the pres of the I love Jimmy fan club, since I'm not eligible for the Flacco one. Jk
Jimmy just had that one penalty tonight, that's it, he had a good game otherwise. If anyone truly screwed up, it was Oher today. It was the penalties, not the sacks. Cary needs to play man to man, all three of our corners are pro bowl caliber in man to man, where Cary got his pick six. Still
Tebow! Tebow, damn Jimmy, Jimmy,Jimmy

Actually, Cary has been playing a ton of man coverage...the results are pretty much the same. Dude just isn't very good.
I'm a huge Jimmy fan, and want to see if he is ready to take over...I don't think I can handle any more of Cary Walker...er, Williams

Yeah same with the jimmy fan (that's why I want to be prez lol) is was pissed last year when we turned in the pick late, I knew if it got to pit that they would've taken him (don't think of crappy JO clone, they don't care bout rottenberger, they just wanted to piss us off) Williams must go, thank the lord he didn't take the bonus

His pick 6 was a blessing and a curse. Blessing because it basically won us the game, curse because now the coaching staff has a re-affirmed confidence in Cary even though he didn't play well at all but happened to make a big play.. those kind of plays are too few and far between for Cary to be our #2 cb.

Cary didn't have single pick all of last year so I can't say that big play ability is his upside.

One interception does not reverse four games of suck. Cary got lucky more than anything. His coverage was spotty all night and he got picked on by Grandpa Weeden. Clearly we need to thoroughly evaluate Jimmy Smith this season, he's getting a lot of playing time since the defense runs a lot of nickel sets, but cornerback could be a position to address during the off-season. The defense is going to get a pretty large facelift, with my predicted losses of Lewis and Reed.

He played baseball I believe. I still can't believe he's older than Aaron Rodgers.

Haha. Looked that up today, about a month older. He looked pretty good though but it was against our defense. :)

I'm gonna start rooting for Cary Williams to keep stacking good practices and good game performances together. Brandon Weeden, the rookie QB, just torched our defense for 320 yards and I can't lay all that on his shoulders. Clearly, we need a lot of work on the defensive side of the ball and it looks like we need Williams AND Smith back there right now.

He's playing for a contract (either with us or someone else) and that, along side competition with Smith, will insure we get his best effort. I think he keeps improving as the year progresses and if he doesn't sign back with us, I'm betting he won't be a FA for long.

i think he shut some haters up last night. Hope its a turnaround for him. Play the ball now sometimes and get picks!
He needs to keep doing it to "shut some haters up". Although, with how nasty Webb is, I kind of feel bad for whoever is our #2. This is only week 4 and QB's are already avoiding Webb like the plague (well, Weeden tested him a few times, but Webb showed 'em who's boss).

Thing is about Webb, even if he's beaten, somehow the receivers keep dropping the balls.. Technique + Luck = Great

Things looked like more of the same after he got beat deep by a relatively slow Greg Little but he came back and made a great play. Good for him.

You're proabaly referring to the two times he looked beat deep. The first, he recovered nicely and played the ball while in the WR's hands. The second time was COMPLETE luck that it was Little on the receiving (dropping) end of the pass.

He is also the reason that second to last pass was not a TD for the Browns. He is the one that jumped and tipped the ball. He had a decent night because he actually paid attention to the ball. I'm not a big fan of Cary but he definitely had a major contribution to this win.

Yep. Cary looked pretty beastly against (who was he lining up with again)?

He's still got a target on his back and he's got a lot of work ahead of him going forward.
