Good thing, next year's CB Class is deep, so we should be able to land one of the 1st round CBs. It's a ridiculous passing league now, so we need all the CBs we can get.

Can we trade Cary and Considine for a wacky waving inflatable arm guy. It would at least distract the other qbs in coverage.
Haha, this cracks me up.

Nothing really amazing to add but I too was unimpressed by Williams' performance last night.

This is an interesting point. Opposing QBs are avoiding Webb like the plague, and maybe it's exposing Cary and Jimmy more than otherwise.
Yes but Cary needs to be able to toughen up. He can't let them abuse him and then have us using the pass rush and Webb as excuses for him.
I didn't see Corey Graham anywhere.

I believe coaches will be looking at the tape hard and should at least move Cary down to #3 CB or better bench him....

Amazing how quickly everyone jumped off the Cary bandwagon. Last season, before he ever even touched the field significantly for us, all we heard from his groupies were how awesome he is, how much potential he has....

I'm STILL waiting for a pick from him..

Cary is probably kicking himself for turning down that $15M offer from Ozzie... and Ozzie is breathing a huge sigh of relief.

Cary Williams is a liability out there. Sizzle definitely made him look better than he really is.

That's because Webb showed us what a great CB looks like. Jimmy Smith's is getting better too.

Whaat about Asa Jackson?

Bad choice in letting Danny go, I knew the secondary would have some issues but the pats were just picking on him last night. He is scared to get beat deep so their is so much cushion to work with for a WR. Cary gets beat deep, intermediate, and short. Their is nothing that we can say Cary will take away from a WR.

Nope! This performance on prime time = $8 for trade and a pretzel.

I'm still waiting on his first pick too... And I wanted him to see playing time last season partly because I didn't like Carr at all, never trusted F.Washington didn't want him resigned, I was still counting my blessings that Frank Walker was gone never to return for more PIs....
But upon Jimmy Smith's drafting I was always hopeful that he would takeover the position but injuries held him back and Cary was pleasant surprise regardless of his lack of ball skills ( which I didn't expect given how he was catching anything that came his direction in the preseason 2 years ago, before his 2 game suspension.....)

I think right now Cary is just thinking too much out there, when he plays tight coverage he is right there but he doesn't make the easy deflection, then he begins to play off by 7 yards maybe and WRs run quick curl, quick out, or a double move....

I think he does better in tight coverage he just needs to get his head around more better his ball skills...
I'm hoping Webb and Reed can have a talk with him restore some confidence, watch some film with him work on somethings....

PFF put up a article on press coverage this morning, and guess who was in the bottom 5?

Cary has pressed his WR a grand total of 4 times so far this season. I just don't know why.. I'm not sure if it's his decision, or if he's being told to do it, but I think we should try and see how he does with it at least once this season.

Brady picking on Cary was probably the hardest thing to watch last night. It was so obvious they were picking on him and that couldn't have done much to get his confidence up.

I'm not going to make any excuses for him, but I will say this. Our defense has to improve someway somehow, and not just the pass-rush. Tom Brady was on the podium last night saying that our defense wasn't fooling anyone. He knew exactly what we were doing.

Maybe it's because he's used to Coach Pees' defense, or whatever, but our playbook wasn't working. It hasn't been working all season. I really hate giving up that many yards and points on a regular basis! Coach Pees needs to scrap the "disguised look" stuff he's always talking about, and get more creative.

Btw... did anyone else notice how often Kruger and McPhee were bumping into each other?

I've tried giving Cary the benefit of the doubt, after all he did play well at times last year. But he is obviously now a liability. No interrupting the routes at the los, not looking back for the ball, etc., etc.. I'm ready to give up on him.

Painful to watch. The guy can't cover a book. Reed has to devote so much of his time to babysitting Williams. :(

I haven't seen a beating like that since I put a banana in my pants and someone turned a monkey loose.

Post of the Week, anyone?

Hilarious!

Williams should have taken the 3 year 15 mil offer. I thought he was a fool for turning it down. What's his agent doing? Second year as a starter so there's ALOT more tape of him, brand new coordinator who isn't half the coordinator Pagano is so his schemes are more easily dissected, and Williams thinks he's going to play better than 3year 15mil?

That is my question also can we get Gorrer back ............I get the feeling Cary really does not want to play for us and you can see it on almost every play he plays .........other teams see it now and they are targeting him and now he really sticks out as the weak link..............he will never get his money this way from any team

Even if that was the case, Cary should be playing for a contract for somebody else. We are getting the best football we can from him (its sad).

Not sure what the team can do about Cary. He is still starting so the team obviously thinks he is the best we got.

We know what he is. He is aCB who really depends on the pass rush. He gets burned sure, but not more than other CB's in the league I think. A lot of the plays last night he was right there, just didn't get his head around to make a play on the ball. That is the part of his game that gets me. How has he not tried to improve on this since last season? It is kind of late to expect any improvement from him

Cary is almost always with his man, he just has no sense of where the ball is at even when he remembers to look for it. He also can't play zone. Zone is killing us. Pees has us in so much zone and we simply do not defend well in zone with such minimal pressure on the opposing QB. We never have.

But Cary wasn't this bad last year. I really think the scheme is hampering him, and wasn't he injured coming into the season? I'm not trying to defend him, his play has been horrendous, but after a decent season last year I thought he looked like an alright number 2 corner. He needs to step it up though, Jimmy continues to improve and we've already seen plenty of flashes from him.

The bottom line is that our corners need to play a lot more press man, that's what we have those bigger corners for.
As I thought. Cary and jimmy are press man corners and yet we refuse to do it. That's scheme. Cary isn't good on space. Play man to man on the outside.

Guess what, it will help the d line get pressure too
