90 posts in this topic

Prayers said for the Smith family.

As far as playing goes its family first. Always.
Do what you gotta do Torrie. The fans have your back.

ESPN is reporting that Torrey told Harbaugh he wanted to play tonight. I think he's set for a big game.

IF he plays, big if, I just hope they don't force the ball to him to try to make something special happen. Please don't get me wrong here, I just want to play smart, not über emotional.

Gotta feel for Torrey Smith and his family.

We need to support him whether he plays or not.

If he does play, maybe he can put in a legendary performance like Jermaine Lewis in 2000

Thoughts and prayers go out to Torrey Smith and his family.

I've had too many personal tragedies over the past couple of years, so I feel for him. I've found that distractions are often a coping mechanism in the process of grieving. If Torrey feels he must play to take his mind off the situation, then good for him.

And if any fan feels that Torrey is "obligated" to play, then I hope those so-called fans have the luxury of never knowing what it's like to lose someone you love -- because, well, it's a sad, sad life you live if you think a child's game is more important than family.

This is horrible. As someone with younger brothers I could not even fathom losing them, and I know Torrey essentially helped raise his younger siblings. For him to play tonight, wow. Torrey is just an incredible inspiration and handles himself with class and poise all of the time. I know the fans, the team, and the Bank will be behind him tonight as Ravens Nation comes together through something so tragic.

Since Torrey is there and playing, I say intro the offense and have Torrey be the last man out.

The crowd will go nuts showing him love.

Torrey catching that first touchdown for the Ravens was one of those transcendantal moments sports sometims give us. Seeing his teammates come up to him- not with the usual touchdown celebrations, but rather the warmth and support of friends and teammates- was something special.
