Dumb penalties on both sides of the ball are costing us.

If by miracle we win this game I still can't make myself excited for the rest of the season. What were seeing from our defense is not just a phase. I don't know if I can stomach that.

I don't know what happened to our defense. I guess the loss of Suggs has had an impact but it's more than that. I guess the loss of Redding, JJ, as well as Suggs is too much for us. It's a shame McAdoo blew his ACL. Things could be a lot different.

I still have faith in the defense but they clearly need work. Upshaw, on the other hand, looks impressive. I can't wait for Suggs and Upshaw to be the bookend OLBs. I think they will be very effective together. Upshaw has made me pleased so far. He has done a rather good job.

I hate to say it but we will not make the playoffs this year with this type of defensive play . .
