To Those to Say 1 Loss Doesn't Matter

12 posts in this topic

Even though it is early in the season, these games do matter.

1 game can be the difference between having the AFC CG at home or being on the road. 1 game can be the difference between getting a first round bye or having to play the wildcard.

These games do matter. And it is disappointing to see the Ravens play sloppy after a big one the week before. I'd like to see the Ravens record in games when they have 4+ turnovers.

These last Eagles game was a game we should have won. This upcoming Pats game is a must win game to me.

I don't think anyone has said that loss doesn't matter. It's just not the end of the world like the active threads on here suggests.

NE game is HUGE. We know we can beat them, and I have faith and confidence we will.

It was an out of conference game. If we were going to lose a game this was the best one to lose...

Enough with the sky is falling threads. It's getting excessive.

Is it disappointing? Yes.

But is it a huge blow? No. Not yet. Not by a longshot.

This loss could be irrelevant if the team goes 15-1 and secures home field advantage throughout the playoffs. This loss could be irrelevant if the team goes 12-4 and wins the AFC North championship. This loss could be irrelevant if the Steelers and Bengals also lose to the Eagles, making it moot in the common opponents tiebreaker.

This, this, this. No one is saying the loss Sunday doesn't matter. But who here thought the team would be 16-0 by the time 2013 gets here? I had us losing around 4 games again this year. So breaking the season into quarters, who would you have rather lost to: two divisional rivals in Cincy and Cleveland (the #1 tie breaker is divisional record, period) or an in-conference opponent at home in the Pats (conference record is right up there with division). I'll take a let down on the road to an out of conference opponent if the team can win all 3 of these other games.

I'd love to be wrong but I had this team only achieving 9 wins. It's one loss but the loss has pointed out flaws in the offense that haven't been corrected (both plan and ability to execute) and scares me with the porous defense.

Exactly. We're WAY past the 24 hour rule. Time for this 'stuff' to stop.

And, by the way, this discussion is going on in this thread:
